I love stopping in here on the way out to the country. This is old school, real Texas, great BBQ, ice, cold, beer, tacos, and burritos, big fans, Texas family owned country style goodness! Sometimes I call ahead just to get a little jump on things as everything is being prepared to order. I'm lucky enough to eat here a couple times a month. If you don't wanna stand in line for Michelin star barbecue nonsense this is a the place to go.

Stopped into Porky's for lunch. First timer, was in from out of town. Porky actually helped me out. I had the Pick 2 with Chopped Brisket and Jalepeno Sausage, Potato Salad and Green Bean salad. All of the items were delicious, especially the brisket. I would highly recommend stopping in to eat. I even had a chance to speak with Porky about the bbq scene. Thank you again for a great experience!

Found my new favorite BBQ spot. Everything about this place was great, the ambiance, the service and the great food of course. I got the Chopped Honey Briskey with a half rack of ribs. Both very tender, ribs basically fell off the bone. The seasoning was great and needed no extra sauce. The only thing that could make this place better is some fried Okra and peach cobbler

This place is so cool! It's got big work doors to open to the outside on a nice day! It's very clean and quaint! Highly recommend. The food was reasonably priced, expect about $20 per person.

Texas Brisket, 1/4 Chicken, Sausage as our proteins. Coleslaw, Baked Beans, Mac & Cheese as our sides. Loved the brisket as it was salt, pepper and meat that I have tasted. Sausage was just okay. Big surprise was the chicken as it was juicy and delicious We'll talk about the sides on our next trip as you can tell there will be a 2nd trip.

Why 5 stars? Because the whole package was a 5-star experience. --- --- --- We have been stalking the opening of Porky's Belly BBQ for a while now, as we drive past it every time we head into Montgomery to visit my wife's parents. They recently announced that they were open and we made plans to visit a few days later. Before I get to the food, I'd like to first point out that a business that's only been open for about a week usually is a bit of a hot mess. Our experience was the opposite of that. We ordered a lot of food and fully expected it to be quite some time before it was out, but it came out shockingly fast. Everything was exactly as we ordered it and the employees didn't seem remotely stressed or confused. If I didn't know any better, I would have assumed they had been open for years and were a well-oiled machine. Secondly, we ordered enough food for a small village, and I was imaging that the total price was going to be in the $130 range, but it came in at $89. Especially in this crazy era of inflation, for 4 adults and a kid to be served more than we could even eat for $90, was incredibly impressive. But as for the important stuff... as I mentioned, we ordered a lot. My star rating for each item, which was pretty much agreed on by everyone: Slicked Brisket: 5 -- by far, this was everyone's favorite meat. Ribs: 3.5 -- these were ideal in terms of tenderness, but the flavor was just a tad off from what I was hoping for. Pulled Pork: 3 -- I'm not sure if it was the seasoning, but there was almost like a tanginess to this that I didn't love. It was my least favorite item out of everything we tried. Mac-n-Cheese: 5 -- bury me in it. Perfection. Coleslaw: 5 -- I only had one bite, but everyone at the table loved it, other than my Father-in-law, who thought it was too creamy. I disagreed with my FIL on this day. Pulled Pork Baked Beans: 4.5 -- Definitely hit the spot and are worth ordering again Bacon Green Beans: 4 -- When I first saw them, I was not excited, because they just looked like canned green beans dumped onto a plate with some bacon added in. They were definitely not that. They had a nice flavor that kept me going back for more. Banana Pudding: 5 -- Home run. I will never come here again without ordering this. Cheesecake Soapapilla: 4 -- I think this is what it was called. It was really sweet, which made it a bit overwhelming, but still enjoyable. BBQ sauce: 5 -- it was warm coming out of the dispenser, which is something I don't think I've ever experienced, but I loved it. The flavor and consistency were excellent. Job well done, Porky's Belly! I'm so glad you are finally open and you did an amazing job with the building itself. Fingers crossed this business thrives in an area with very few restaurants nearby.

I loved itttttt!!!!!! I also love that it's Hispanic owned & the food was so good!!! Everything was nice and clean and the owners were really friendly

    Cold Corona and yummy michelada!

Excellent customer service! We ordered brisket (honey and dry rub), jalapeño sausage, potato salad, and Mac and cheese. Food was excellent, not greasy and not dry at all!! Full of flavor! We r definitely going back to try the ribs and the chicken! We also ordered a michelada and it was the best michelada I've had in Texas and California! The restrooms and restaurant were spotless clean! Family friendly and you get a really nice breeze and lovely view‼

Over priced for what you get. Pork belly sandwich just ok very little meat for what they charge for it $10.25. Beans I believe were just like Campbells pork and beans out of a can with just a bit of pulled pork added to them. They just didn't have a good homemade flavor at all. Sad for $4.50 plus tax. Dry Mac and cheese $4.50 plus tax. Green beans out of can with a few bits of bacon $4.50 plus tax. We got 2 pork belly sandwiches 4 small sides and 2 ice tea, sitting in a hot building without ac and about $50.00 missing from my wallet. I won't be going back

Man, so glad we stopped here on our way home to Austin! Pulled pork sandwich and a pork belly taco. Both were delicious, the pulled pork was juicy and the bun was a perfect match. Pork belly taco came with cheese, onion, cilantro and avocado on a corn tortilla was (chef's kiss) flawless.

Breakfast review. Ordered two burritos and 4 tacos. They weren't terrible but disappointed that they were so simple. Just forgettable and not worth the repeat. Place looks nice and service people were friendly.

They will never see my face ever again.

I figured id give this place a visit, first and last time ill ever go. A chopped beef brisket sandwich, $10.50. 2 barbacoa tacos $6.50. The chopped beef sandwich had a little meat between 2 dry peices of bread, no sauce pickles or onions. WTF? Tacos had barbacoa and egg, thats it. No lime, onions or cilantro. The guy taking our order never said 2 words to us. I wonder how long before this place is closed down. If i could give it zero stars i would. Dont waste your time or money.

Since we had 4 people eating and I wanted to try a bunch of things, I went a little crazy on the order. I went with a pound of sausage, a pound of brisket, a pound of pulled pork and a rack of ribs. I also ordered baked beans, mashed potatoes and green beans as sides. I could have ordered half of that and still had leftovers. Nothing necessarily stood out as great. The green beans were pretty subpar - they tasted like they were straight out of a can. The baked beans were unimpressive. I think everything else ranged from decent to pretty tasty. But the best thing about this place was that a mountain of food was had for $102. We all could have eaten at least two full meals from this amount of food. Would it have been much more delicious if it had come from Killen's? Absolutely. It also would have cost twice as much. This is an incredibly small and humble operation, so I was glad to support them. If you're looking for bang for you buck in Montgomery, this is a good choice.

Theirs came out pretty quickly but we had a bit longer wait. A chicken strips kids meal was also ordered for my grandson. The fries were plentiful and he seemed to enjoy. I had a glass of wine and my SIL had a frozen hurricane with waters all around and a Dr Pepper. Unfortunately, they were out of lemonade and no other juice options available for my grandson so he had to go with water. We didn't order any extra sauces for the crawfish to be tossed into as we wanted to try them as they were intended. My daughter and son-in-law's order seem to be more medium and smalls while ours was strictly smalls pill was easy. Taste was good. My daughter also ordered a half pound of boiled shrimp. They were very tasty and buttery easy peel and decent size the potatoes were tasty without being overly seasoned. The Thai sauce is a good addition to add a little more flavor. Why 5 stars? Because it's on the Mount Rushmore of BBQ for me after one visit…read more --- --- --- I was checking out the Texas Monthly Top 50 BBQ joints in Texas list when it came out, and I was bookmarking a bunch of places on Yelp for my future travels. For any place located in the bigger cities: DFW, Austin, San Antonio, etc - there's a good chance I'd be able to visit them at some point down the road. Then I came across a local place: Bar A BBQ. I was thrilled that they made the cut. After reading their blurb, the next business listed was a place called Jennings. My eyes were darting around looking for what city Jennings was in. Imagine a movie scene where they close up on the person's face as their eyes widen and they are suddenly coming to a massive realization. Jennings was also located in Montgomery. I'm located in Montgomery. BBQ is my favorite food. I scour Yelp like a crazy person for new places to try and I've written over 3,500 reviews. I'm on multiple local Facebook foodie groups. And I had never even heard of Jennings. If you're simply reading this review, you probably don't actually know me. But I cannot properly convey to you how mind-blowing and unprecedented it is that a place like this would exist 20 minutes from my house and its existence would have somehow completely escaped my knowledge. I might not ever get over the fact that this happened. But I did what I could to make up for my ignorance and was first in line the next day that they were open after the article came out. So now onto the food.... ***The Important Part: The Food*** I won't bury the lede any more than I already have. Jennings is among the best BBQ I've ever had in my life. Since I first tried Franklin in Austin in 2021, I'd always said that it was #1. But then I had it a 2nd time and it was merely "awesome" rather than life-changing. Corkscrew in Old Town Spring has always been the top dog in all of Houston, in my opinion, but it's hard for me to, say that Corkscrew was definitely better than what I just experienced at Jennings. I started with a rib and just couldn't believe how great it was. The flavor was one thing, but it was the perfect mix between tender, but not so tender that it becomes a roast and just falls off the bone. And then I ate the brisket and couldn't pick which was better! I might not stop thinking about that brisket until at least the end of the decade. So thick, so fatty, so ideal. Give me a catering sized platter of this brisket and I will end wars with it. No words I can use will accurately portray how I felt about it. Calling it "perfect" somehow feels like an insult. And then the pulled pork. I always believe the pulled pork is easier in terms of having a baseline of decentness because it seems to be harder to mess up. But even it was just so undeniable. The sides ranged from fine to great. I am not really a pinto beans person, so that's the only side we didn't order. But the cowboy beans were basically just pinto beans with some brisket mixed in and that was the only thing I didn't care for. The coleslaw was just ok too. But the rest of the sides were all solid: mac-n-cheese, corn souffle, potato salad and the fried cabbage. The banana pudding wasn't bad either. But make no mistake: the meat is the star of the show here and it's not just a star. It's the sun and the moon and the galaxy. I'm ruined now because just about every future BBQ experience will just make me angry that they don't do it like Jennings. On top of their God BBQ, the people were super friendly here. They were giving us free samples since we were first timers even though we nearly just ordered "one of everything" on the menu. How I am just writing the 7th review for this place is a crime. How I was able to show up at 10:50am and be first in line for their 11am opening is a crime. If word gets out about what comes out of this trailer every Saturday and Sunday, they are going to need hire local law enforcement to direct traffic in and out of this gas station parking lot.
