Forgot to take a pic of the tacos, but I wasn't wowed by this spot. The tacos are decently sized and have a good amount of meat filling, but I didn't care for the tortillas. The sauces are also on the side for you to fill into cups or add directly onto the tacos if you're dining in. It took a bit longer than I expected for the order too. I did like the horchata (but can you really mess that up?). The flavor of the meat was average and the cook was also average. I know some people rave about this spot, but it's a pass for me. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, unless it was super late and the only taco spot open that the time. I'm not sure how busy it gets late night weekends, as it was pretty empty around 11pm on a Saturday when I was there. There were plenty of tables to sit down at and eat. I don't think this is beef. The "beef fajita" does not have the tastes, texture or color of beef... It's also chewy and tough. The taste of these tacos lingers in your mouth for DAYS, no matter how much I brush my teeth and tongue. Ugh... I had nausea and stomach aches for the day after. La Palma is literally my favorite place to grab tacos. Service is always great and tacos are made to order anyway you like them. They are open late most days so definitely helps with getting there. Super yumm. If you're looking for a fancy place, this is not your answer however I love that they keep it so clean and nice. So glad they have reopened after the fire. Go check them out. read more

This place used to be one of my favorite taco spots, the owner stepped away and let some young kids run it and from the moment you get there it shows and they don't care a bit about their customers and the tacos are not even close to what they used to be. Every time I step foot in this magnificent place it makes me feel like I am home not to mention the intoxicating aroma of like 20 pounds of sweet sautéed cebolla just calling your name with urgency. Lets not forget the other glorious smells you get hit with making your mouth water. One of my favorite thing to get is 3 barbacoa tacos with double corn tortillas with everything on it straight up con todo with extra onion and lime and of course salt, also with that I get 3 lingua tacos same way everything that's right. To drink always a coke in the bottle or a Jarritos Jamaica soda and sometimes I'm feeling froggy ill get a large horchata and then I'm loving life again and all is right in the world. Great prices and the tacos are a great size to boot so a few should fill you up. Sure the place is a little dirty and sketchy but that's the appeal of it! You don't need a fancy place to have great food. Though I say this for guests to be aware that some tables not be as clean as expected. The food though is certainly all worth trying for, my favorites being the barboca, fajitas, and the pork belly. Best of all you can get any amount of condiments you'd like right by the counter. Not impressed tonight the service was a slow however they are doing car orders so I understand. However our order was incorrect (some tacos were supposed to be flour not corn) we had chicken, beef, and barbacoa. The service was less than acceptable and almost walked out since I didn't get acknowledged until maybe a couple minutes later. The decor is outdated, but the prices are really high. Living in Conroe is a blessing because La Palma is never far... first of all they are open very late (like 4am) on the weekends, which is perfect when I've been out drinking with my friends and need an authentic taco. The staff blasts through long lines, and the wait time is never too bad. the prices are unbeatable. Double tortilla tacos, may I add. Yes the place may not be the nicest or cleanest but that's not what I'm looking for when I come here so honestly I don't really mind. The tacos make up for it 100%. This taco joint had so many amazing reviews so I had to come check it out while we were looking for places to grab a quick but on the way back to Houston from Dallas. Lol funny people say this is the sketchy area of Conroe in some of the reviews cause this place is literally in an old sketchy motel turned restaurant. The place wasn't clean - there were bits of food on the floor and on the tables but we decided to dine in anyway cause.. the most legit food sometimes comes from dodgy places! We ordered 9 tacos - 3 Barbocoa, 3 beef fajitas and 3 pastor! They thought we wanted them to go for some reason so wrapped them all up in packs of 3 in foil - and we got 2 paper plates to dine in! There's a big condiments section with pico, salsa, grilled onions, limes, cilantro.. anything you'd need for toppings!! The tacos were indeed legit - real authentic Mexican tacos and the meats were as expected - flavorful but not overly salty. I almost thought they were a bit bland but I was sick so I won't judge based on my damaged palette. My only complaint was that the tortilla were a bit too greasy... my favorite taco was the beef fajitas! If you don't mind a hole-in-the-wall.. this place is worth trying! They apparently also open until 2am so after bar tacos are a must! There was a line out the door, luckily we missed the rush! read more
