Had a great breakfasts here this morning. The pancakes were cooked perfect and the pork chop was very good.

the quesadilla plate is my go to at this restaurant and it's so delicious every time!

i have been coming here since i was a little girl and the food never disappoints, from the breakfast to the dinner plates it's all so good. they even have a small bar, i haven't been to it since i'm only 20 but when my family and i dine-in people are always sitting there. karaoke night is always the best too

Good food, super friendly staff (each member came to our table at least once to check on us) it was definitely very team oriented. Older building but clean. We had: -tortilla soup was delicious!! Ask for chips though bc the ones that came with were soggy already. -barbacoa was good a little too fatty but good -carne guisada was delicious and the enchiladas that came with, had too much cheese and not enough sauce. They automatically serve you chips, salsa and queso and they were probably everyone's fav. The thick chips were amazing and so was tbe queso. We could take or leave the salsa.

Idk shit about who's got the best tacos, I just know they were good as hell and I'll be back

Green enchiladas with beans & rice. On special the night I was here.

Tex Mex done right. Start with a basket of chips with two salsas: a traditional red with a kick and a bean dip you'll be asking for more of. I had the green enchiladas, a regular menu item but on special the night I was there. Delicious and perfectly balanced flavors. Moist flavorful rice. Smooth perfect beans. Fresh made tortillas. Crisp unsweet tea. Right-sized portions. Salsa verde and salsa roja served in squeeze bottles (so you don't run out). Friendly, attentive service. Good prices. Seriously, what more could you ask from a local Mexican restaurant? Traveling north or south on US281? This is a stop you won't regret.

Really good. If you like really hot salsa make sure you ask for the managers special hot sauce.

I'm parked across the street doing my reset, and this is one of my favorite truck stops when I'm…read moregoing to Laredo, so I decided to walk across and have supper last night.. They also have truck parking next to the restaurant that not a lot of people realize. I walked in and was greeted immediately by very nice and professional staff. But of course if you know me, you know I chose to sit at the bar. They were playing some soccer game on the TV. I don't watch sports so doesn't matter to me what's on the TV. My bartender greeted me IMMEDIATELY and took my drink order, and gave me a menu. This guy was on his game! Very attentive, engaged in banter. Couldn't be happier with my bar experience all together. I'm on a no-carb kick, so It can be challenging sometimes to find carb-free options at Mexican restaurants, since all the good stuff and fun stuff to eat like tortillas, rice, beans, and other fried dishes are plentiful. But I noticed they had a Molcajete! (For those don't know what that is, it's essentially a bowl carved out of volcano rock, and then heated up with various meats and other ingredients, served SUPER HOT). My molcajete came with pretty good size shrimp, beef, chicken, couple slices of mozzarella type cheese, pico and other stuff in the bottom. The bartender asked me if I wanted to substitute my rice and beans for avocado and pico, which I did. I ate my avocado and put the pico into my molcajete. I am a faithful consumer of tajin, and tapatio. BUT They didn't have tap! They only have Cholula. The bartender told me he keeps requesting it, but never gets it, so cholulah it was. My molcajete was super hot, boiling like it should be, really flavorful. All together really good. I did notice The Rock wasn't as deep as other Mexican restaurants I've been to that served it, and didn't have a couple other little things in it that other Mexican restaurants too, but it was still good nonetheless and a perfect portion size for me. I didn't realize they close at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday because I planned on having supper there again tonight, so I will be stopping in the next time I come down to this part of Texas! Thank you Taqueria Jalisco! Maybe next time I'll have a cheat day and eat something carby! I know it will be worth it! ***DISCLAIMER*** This pure, uncut, honest review is federally protected under Federal Law by way of Bill #EO14149.
