A friend of mine saw this spot on IG and we decided to visit for dinner on Friday night. Very easy to find and super accessible by public transportation (bus and train stops are on the corner). We walked in and was greeted vaguely and then was ushered to a seat near the door (even though there was open seating in the center of the restaurant). Then we realized the hostess wouldn't speak to us again for about 15mins. Turns out they "don't speak English" and bc we looked **foreign** (I'm being nice) they didn't know how/want to proceed. Wasn't until my Cuban friend started speaking Spanish that we were able to get service and was able to order. With all that said, the food was mid at best (fresh but lacking flavor) but the space was cute and cozy. Seems to be a hit amongst their friends and families so I will gladly leave their safe space to just them. read more

Their tacos and chimichangas are always delicious, however, their beans and rice are awful.

The owner is ok but wife is rude and heartless. I used to work here and they refused to pay me. I had to leave after they didn't provide a trainer nor did they pay me what was agreed upon. I was told the wife would train me but when the owner left, she told me she doesn't train anybody. They made me give up any tips I made. Now, the restaurant itself. The food isn't all that great and the people in the back don't wash their hands. I've seen them prepare dishes without washing their hands or using gloves. The sauce is days old so it's not fresh. The drink selections are few. You're lucky if you get ice in your beverage. The place is authentic and decorated as such but this establishment is faulty. Pay your employees!! Also, your tacos dorados need more pizazz. It's missing a multitude of ingredients. read more

They are allowing indoor shopping and are carrying gorgeous Mexican masks. There is a sign asking you not to touch anything and a masked employee will be over to assist as soon as you approach. I did not notice any hand sanitizer available. Limited seating of 2 tables. read more

Food was absolutely delicious! It's small inside, but the atmosphere is so cute and friendly. We got birria tacos, chips and guacamole, plus chicken wings. Delicious!!!!! Would go again, but I will say - it was pretty expensive. We left with full stomachs and were satisfied though, making it worth it! I am sooo pro supporting my community. Which is why I love ordering in my neighborhood. I even work in my neighborhood. However, I cannot support this place. I work in the restaurant business and I understand that things happen. Hey, I've even hung up on a few folks complaining about things like "my food was bad" so then I say, "I'll send the driver back to pick up the food and give you a refund or we can exchange it. Because hey, even chefs make mistakes. But then the customer says "I ate the food" ummm ok, then it couldn't have been bad. Goodbye. But no, not this place. I called and they hung up on me without even allowing me the courtesy to explain. The food wasn't bad my friends. It was my second time ordering here. Neither was it great. However, I loved their green sauce. I thought it was amazing. I know, I know, get to the point Lenn, why the 1 star? I found a bandaid in my sauce. God Jesus the nausea I felt. I can't eat nachos ever. I can't eat green sauce ever. It's repulsive. I called to say, guys this is sooo unbelievably unacceptable. Can I please speak to a manager, but nope. Ok, maybe it was what I ordered but I just wasn't impressed. When I went there I didn't realize that it was a new Mexican Restaurant but I knew something was different about it. Oh my God this place is incredible. It is by FAR my favorite Mexican food in all of New York, including overhyped and overpriced Manhattan restaurants. Where to start? Their tortilla chips before the meal are homemade and incredible. Whoever below said they were stale needs to stick to Doritos because they really missed the amazing crunchy goodness of these chips. The sauces they make are beyond amazing. Pro tip, if you are a spicy fan they have these beautiful Smokey chipotle peppers/sauce. The regular salsa is just the right spice...the spicy red salsa is delicious. The tacos are amazing, the quesadillas are perfect and if you ask the owner for suggestions he always has the best ones. I've eaten here probably 15 times over the last couple months. Can't get enough. Finally, this is a family owned business and they are awesome people. Extremely friendly and always looking to please. I would give 0 stars if I could.....Maybe the food is good but this is the most UNSANITARY restaurant I've ever seen. I've seen the back and basement. If you treasure your health, stay far far away. There's always flies and mice, they changed the initial grade from a -B to an A by going to court. They reuse salsa. As in, if you don't finish yours, they will give it to the next person!!!! I worked there for 2 days and couldn't take it. Also, if they get your order wrong, the lady owner will literally argue with you that YOU'RE wrong AND get nasty. Also, they put old tortilla chips in new bags so the grease doesn't show through...so YES some people will get stale chips. They don't give customers fresh ones because "the basket gets too greasy" so, old ones you get! Also, I've seen flies hovering in/around the chips and rice and vegetables..basically everywhere.
