We were on our way back from LA at night and decided we should stop somewhere that was still open... since it was getting late, and everything closer to home is typically closed by this time. We had actually planned on something Vietnamese, but the place was closed, so we took a chance and walked in..... and we're so glad we did! The place is very simple, located in a small strip mall off the main road, and could possibly even pass as a hole-in-the-wall, but that's ok if the food is this good. The menu is simple... offering either Tacos, Burritos, or Quesadillas where you choose one protein filling, and then a choice of onions, cilantro, green salsa, and red salsa. You can add sides of rice, beans, or chips to your order for an additional charge. We originally ordered 4 tacos with chicken with everything, the quesadilla with everything, and an order off chips and salsa. You can see the cook actually making everything from scratch behind the screen. Wow! Everything was absolutely fresh, hot off the grill, and absolutely delicious! All four of us were highly impressed and loved the food very much.... so much so that we ordered 4 more tacos, and then added a chicken burrito with everything.... with cheese... so as not too miss out.... and Wow again... absolutely delicious! The corn tortillas had a nice springy texture with a nice chew.. and doesn't crack when folded, the chicken meat perfectly tender and juicy, onions gave a really nice crunch, and the cheese and cilantro just took the flavor over the top.... and all without tasting salty at all. I would even go as far as to say these are the very best tacos, quesadillas, and burritos we'd ever eaten... and we've tried a lot! Service was very good and friendly, and the guy behind the counter was so happy seeing how we kept coming back to order more and more. We were looking for a taco spot open late at night and we ended up finding Taqueria Hoy because the close at 1 am. They have a couple tables inside but there's also a few tables outside. They offer tacos, quesadillas, and burritos. The pros are that the price was fair, they are open late, portion size is good, and service was fast. The cons were that the meat had a bit of an after taste and the tacos had a lot of onion. I love onion but even for me it was a bit much. I ordered tacos de cabeza and lengua and as i mentioned it had an odd after taste and also lacked flavor. My bf ordered the asada burrito which was better than the tacos primarily because i enjoyed the rice and beans . I think overall the food was okay but it was not our favorite. read more

My boyfriend really likes this place and we came for a quick dinner recently. The menu is simple and the service is always super quick. My boyfriend got a carne asada burrito and I ordered the carne asada quesadilla. We also shared a horchata to drink which was sweet but not too overpowering. We got our food to go with some green and red salsa. Our food stayed hot, even after my boyfriend's car battery died and we had to drive around for a while to get it charged up again after leaving the restaurant. My quesadilla was pretty good. The carne asada pieces were small and tender. The cheese was melty and there was a generous amount of it between the warm tortilla. There was also fresh onion and cilantro in there to brighten the richness of the cheese and meat. Both salsas were flavorful and had a good kick of spice. Taqueria Hoy aka Taqueria De Anda. I grew up eating at their fullerton location all my life, especially after hours leaving from Down Town Fullerton. Noticed the name change a few weeks ago, so I wanted to see if there's been any changes. Ordered togo, but you can now dine in. Layout and the foods looked and tasted the same, well atleast the burrito which is what I got. I got extra rice here as I always do (no extra charge), but looking at the burrito even if I didn't get extra rice it was lacking meat this time. Some days I feel like the scoop of meat are more than other times. Overall the food is solid, but the only downside is meat portion varies. First time here was looking for a good wet burrito and they did not disappoint. Great base burrito and then they added the green sauce a good handful of cheese and more sauce to melt cheese. They game me some grilled Serrano peppers and some red sauce it was a wrap. Highly recommend if you looking for a good saucy wet burrito. I came here because somebody ordered it on DoorDash and after I went in I became curious. So I went back today. I ordered a quesadilla and three tacos. The tacos were all perfect, two chorizo and one chicken. All had plentiful portions of meat. Flavor was outstanding! Juicy and fresh. The asada quesadilla was so fresh! It was dripping cheese and so hot! The flavor was very hearty and savory. I couldn't finish it and glad I have more for later. The food was ready quickly and the men in the kitchen were very nice. I grew up seeing this place across my high school many moons ago (20+ year). I didn't actually go there until about 10 years ago. It was great back then because it was the original one I think. Now it's just another assembly line taco shop. It expanded and have multiple locations. Nothing that well blow your mind or burn your bung hole. A lot of other reviews mentioned the meats were dry, but when we went on a Sunday evening, the meats we got were pretty tender and moist; it's more tender than A LOT of the taco spots around the area. The beef was chopped up fine like ground meat. The taste was not existent, and no salt, spices what so ever... I hate doing bad reviews, but if I wanted bland hamburger meat on my tortillas, I would have just gone to Taco Bell. I had higher expectations as the reviews seemed to be decent. Their menu here is very small and simple. It reminds me of one of those taco trucks. You have no options of items like fish or shrimp. However, their burritos are very very meaty and filling. They are around $4.50 for a burrito. Their tacos are the smaller ones but are very satisfying. Although other yelpers said that the burritos are tasty, I found it a little bland. Yes, it's true, I've been craving for some tacos the last 3 months and haven't had a chance to visit one until now! For $1.30, it satisfies my super spicy and sour cravings. They got chicken, beef and pork tacos and burritos. Personally, I will say go for their beef tacos because it's the most flavorful and least dry. The chicken is not bad, but it's kinda dry and blend for my taste. As for the sauce, they got both red and green. If you're the mild kinda person, go for green and if you're the spicy kinda person, go for red. For me, 3 tacos does the job.
