Everyone -- stop what you're doing right now and go to this place and eat. As a Mexican from California (why is the Mexican food so much better out there?!), I can say that this place is the real deal. The chips were house-made, not from a bag; the beans were refried in-house, not from a can; the tortillas are hand-made, nor bought; and the food tastes like a family member cooked it with love. I'm serious -- it's the best Mexican food I've had in a long time. The hand-breaded chile rellenos were deLISH -- rich and tasty. As for the tacos, get the carnitas! -- crisp, tender, and incredibly flavorful. The service was personal and top-notch. We're definitely going back. Amazing food. The most authentic I found in the area. I walked in and was greeted warmly. One of the staff walked me through the menu and pointed out a few of his favorites. I bought four tacos and they were absolutely delicious. The condiments were great as well. It's nice to see such a Well run and authentic establishment. Very small Mexican place in Lexington Va but the food was amazing and the quantity/value for price for great! We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon while traveling through. Would highly recommend. A delicious find in VA! My husband and I were heading south after a hike in Shenandoah, and were looking for a place to eat. We found this little Mexican spot on our way out and loved it! We got queso, guac, chips, and two shrimp fajita dishes - everything was fresh and delicious. This casual eatery was friendly and comforting. The staff was so quick with the food and very attentive. You have to try Taqueria Jalisco! It's small but the food is fantastic! The guacamole is some of the best I've ever had. I had pastor tacos that were sooo good! The hubs got the Jalisco Burrito, which could have fed three people. Everything was delicious. They do not have their ABC license yet, but she's working on it. This is a newer place in Lexington, so we finally got a chance to check it out for lunch. So many other little diners have come and go at this location, we are hoping this one sticks around! The decor was lovely! Vibrant colors, authentic Mexican furniture and very clean! We were directed to seat ourselves and chose a comfortable booth. The server was quick to take our drink order and give us menus. The menu was more extensive than we expected, thinking this was just a taco place. But there are a variety of burritos, full meals, tamales, quesadillas and more. We decided on taco plates, and they were able to split two flavors on one order, giving us the ability to try a few different flavors. The fresh corn tortillas were thick and perfect, and the pastor, carnita and chicken tacos we ordered were over stuffed and topped with plenty of cilantro and onions. An entire lime and your choice of sauces rounded it out. The meat was moist and flavorful. We also ordered the red sauce pork tamales, which were ample and full of meat, and I had to try one of the chicken gorditas. I don't know what kind of "bread" they use, but it had a nice chewy texture and was so good! The server was friendly and attentive, and the quantity of food for the money was great. This place is a hidden gem in Lexington! We will definitely be back, as we saw another customer order a burrito that would easily feed two people.
