Barbacoa, asada and al pastor tacos. Flavors lacked. Ordered to-go "con todo", but came as shown. No cilantro, no onion, no lime.

On my lone experience here there were issues. I ordered some takeout during the Covid-19 scare. They added an extra taco without my asking, which I paid for since I just wanted to get out of there. I specifically asked for everything on the tacos, but only one of the three was dressed. The other two just bare meats. They didn't bother to let me know or direct me over to the salsa bar so I could dress them myself. I specifically asked so I could AVOID doing that, for obvious reason. I suppose I could have un-bagged and opened the carton to checked them. That's what I get for assuming. Tacos were just okay. I did like that they make fresh tortillas, but only one per taco instead of usual two. Barbacoa was super wet but had good flavor with a bit of their salsa verde -- the only one that came with the diced onion and cilantro I asked for. The carne asada was cut into large cubes, had too little flavor and too little seasoning, and was a touch tough. The al pastor was just bare cubes of orange-tinted pork, no sauciness, had almost no flavor. Tacos were $2.19 each and come on a one-inch larger tortilla than an average street taco. Dressed properly I would eat their barbacoa again, likely pass on the asada, and a hard no on the weakest al pastor in town. I do hope for better service if there ever is a next time around.

Good for they're and unique food with hand made tortillas but food needs just a bit more flavor and my soda wasn't cool But the tortillas they use are actually good And it was a good price

3 tacos de asada and 1 baked potato

This taqueria is one of go-to places. Yeah, it looks a bit sketchy, but that's the price of authenticity, in my opinion. The tortillas are handmade, and that's something hard to come by in taquerias in OKC. The aguas frescas are great (my favorite it jamaica, but the horchata is delicious as well). I typically get the 3 tacos, 1 baked potato, and drink special for $9. The tacos are nice and big and they usually put the veggies on the side so you don't get a taco de cilantro and onions with only a little meat. The baked potato is also great and comes with cheese and sour cream. PRO TIP: I take the meat out of one of the tacos and put it on my potato to make a fully loaded baked potato. We always order to-go over the phone since this place is minutes away from my job and they always have our food hot and ready when we get there. Honestly, can't complaing about this place! Definitely a hole in the wall taco stop.

Worst place to eat, food had to flavor. The sauce was just spicy with no flavor. A taco without a lime is not a taco. Food was cold.

It arrived as this dramatic, beautifully constructed tower of mixed seafood topped with avocado and a whole shrimp--definitely a dish that makes an entrance. The seafood seemed fresh, but I discovered that this particular style of mixed mariscos just isn't for me. Some of the seafood had a gray, translucent appearance and texture that I personally didn't enjoy. That may simply be characteristic of the preparation rather than any problem with the dish. I only tried this one item, so I don't think it would be fair to judge the kitchen more broadly based on my personal preference. What I can comment on much more definitively is the noise. It was extraordinarily loud. I eventually pulled out my phone and measured the sound level because I genuinely wanted to know whether it was as loud as it felt. I recorded levels exceeding 100 dB, with peaks around 103 dB. The staff couldn't have been friendlier. Unfortunately, I could barely hear them. I enjoy energetic restaurants and certainly don't expect dinner to take place in a library. But there's a point where "lively atmosphere" becomes something prospective customers deserve to know about before deciding where to spend an evening. This crossed that line for me. If a very high-energy, extremely loud environment is your thing, you may have a completely different experience. If you're hoping to have a conversation over dinner without shouting across the table, I'd choose accordingly. Friendly staff, impressively presented food, and a seafood dish that simply wasn't my jam. But the volume overwhelmed everything else about the experience--and at 103 dB, that's not background music. That's the main course.

I'm disappointed in myself I didn't try this and review it sooner!…read more La Herencia is an upscale beautiful restaurant tucked away amongst the businesses. Every time I've driven by it's been absolutely packed in the parking lot. The staff is incredibly friendly and brings a whole fun vibe to your table. The salsa is incredible the queso is to die for. It was very busy when we walked in but there was no wait. We were thankfully seated immediately and started off with chips and salsa. The chips were nice and crispy, but the salsa was mediocre. The tomatoes tasted canned. While I can totally get the efficiency behind using canned tomatoes for a busy restaurant, the taste is not preferred. The kids chicken quesadilla plate was a good amount of food! I just wish the quesadilla was already sliced as it was for our 3 year old. The chicken was also bland. Again, the portions were great. My son ordered the Burrito La Herencia with ground beef and this was seasoned well. Again, great portions of beans, rice & main dish. No complaints with this one! My spouse ordered the La Herencia fajita special and felt as if it was lacking. The steak pieces were minuscule and the shrimp was bland and undercooked. The pork chop was thinly sliced which was nice but VERY salty. We were wishing for more peppers and onions as well. Overall this dish was salty, but tolerable! It came with a side plate of rice, beans, pico de gallo, guac, sour cream & lettuce. Served with flour tortillas. We ordered the queso & guac while we were looking at the menu and waiting. I personally did not enjoy the queso. It was thick and had an artificial mouth feel. The guac was decent! Bland overall but I love the taste of avocado. I wish it had more lime and seasoning though since it was supposed to be Guacamole and not avocado dip. I ordered the Steak Mexicano with extra jalapeños and this was very good. Still on the salty side but I enjoy things on a SLIGHTLY saltier range. My spouse thought the steak was TOO salty. The peppers, onions, and tomatoes were nicely sautéed and seasoned. The rice here is also DELICIOUS. I hate a bland Mexican rice. The beans were good too but nothing to write home about. I do wish I was offered a side of corn tortillas. Overall this experience was okay! Not the worst but definitely not the best. The restaurant was beautifully decorated but there was a noticeable lack of music. We were sat listening to the chatter of all the different customers and kitchen noises. We did have the option of booth or table AND they have boosters seats/ high chairs upon request.
