Tried resolving through Uber Eats, who only offered to refund $2 for the tortillas despite the entire order being inedible when black mold is involved. Can't go wrong with this place, ever! Family that runs this is just the best. The food is excellent.

Not a bad place but very small. The people are nice and the food was well presented but not very well seasoned. I had the carnitas and it looked good but lacked flavor and they don't serve tortillas with it and had to ask. My friend has the beef tacos which he liked. They serve queso and it's good but in the smallest saucer. The Salsa was okay and the habanero hot salsa was actually really good and served warm. read more

The food is usually above average, the prices had gone up ALOT, the service was unacceptable, the waitress was very disorganized and did a poor job. I always eat there when I come to town for many years, but it may be time to find a new favorite. The waitress wearing a red sweater seemed to be confused, she was waiting on several tables, but we had to wait a long time today. With the increased prices I think it is time to find another Restaurant to eat at. The lunch specials are $13.49 not including a drink. The service here is fantastic but the food just didn't impress me which was disappointing bc others in my family speak so highly of it. Maybe nostalgia for them. The ambiance comes off as a legit authentic Mexican restaurant but the menu is all tex-mex. You can, if you know, order authentic Mexican items and they'll gladly prepare them for you. The prices are quite high for what you receive quality wise. The portions are large but the food is really nothing special. Very disappointed in my food tonight! Had to send it back twice. When you ask for no tomatoes the first time you expect no tomatoes. Then when I sent it back they just scraped it off and gave it back to me. The waitress disappeared. After ten minutes I took my plate to the front counter to another waitress. My waitress then came up and took my plate. I told her about the tomatoes being scraped off. She got a new taco brought it back and said that the tomatoes were from the chicken. No they weren't. They were stuck to the tortilla the first time when I sent it back. I know the difference. I don't think it's right that the waitress would argue with a customer in the first place. I think that I was treated unfairly. .......Also if you are going for a margarita expect salt in it even if you ask for no salt in the rim. read more

We ordered carry ot. My wife ordered a cheese quesadilla, and once home we were surprised at the small portion. We called and returned to the restaurant thinking there was a mistake, but it was their 21/2 slice $16 portion. Been coming to this location specifically for so long now, probably since I was about 11 or 12 and Im 24 now.. I live about 20 minutes away and drive to this place every time even though I live 8 minutes away from the other location on north may. Its just not quite the same at the other location, didnt have a good experience and tasted a little off but MANNN the food at 63rd hits so hard. Terrible quality control they served my wife moldy bread it was very noticeable so I am now concerned about how little they care. I didn't eat my meal we asked if we can get a no charge for the meals and charge us just for our margaritas. They charged 40 dollars for a meal we didn't even eat due to their incompetent staff. I didn't have the best experience here. It started with a friend asking for a certain drink that was shown on their social media but they were told that was at the "other Casa Perico" so they were out of luck apparently. I guess we should have gone to the "other Casa Perico". My friend then asked for a drink menu and was told they didn't have one. The server said they only had margaritas. My friend found this hard to believe and then walked around the restaurant to find a drink menu on another table and grabbed it. There was more than just margaritas on it. Do they realize you can make money selling alcohol?!? My friend ended up getting a Mangonada and they said it was very good. It was a shame that service felt lazy and unfriendly. Then we ordered shrimp fajitas for two. It was a rather small portion for two people. The tails were still on the tiny shrimp so we had to remove them before making our fajitas. Table was rather full with plates we weren't using but again service was lacking, To top all of this off they were playing a very sad movie in the restaurant about a dog dying!? Who does this?! My son ended up crying and couldn't eat. I think my 2-star review is generous. We won't be going back here, hopefully the other locations are completely different. This place is so freaking good. The tacos are the best I've had in a while. The chili sauce is deep with flavor and could make even cauliflower rice taste good. I would stay away from the chicken in the kids quesadilla. It tasted pretty funky, like it was boiled it something. They still get 5 stars from me because everything else was delicious and the service was wonderful. Do yourself a favor and stop in! You will thank me for it later. read more

I'm giving 3 stars because our waiter was good and kept bringing us chips. Every one I came here with said their food was great, mine was terrible. My chicken breast was not cooked through and it was tough and rubbery. I couldn't eat it. I said something about it, and they brought me out a tamale and it was nuked in the microwave. So disappointing. They didn't charge for that gross chicken, which they shouldn't have, but they charged for the tamale. Won't be back even though our waiter was good. This is Tex-Mex at its finest. You will not find street tacos or incredibly cooked mole sauces. You will find cheese and sour cream covered heaven, however. I define this food as Tex-Mex, though I'm sure some Texans would disagree. My fiance and I ordered food from here a few weeks ago, as we've been trying to find new places during quarantine. We were pleasantly surprised! First and foremost, their salsa is amazing. We also had their cheese nachos, and look, they were chips with cheese melted on them. But they did *not* skimp on the cheese. OMG, it was like a blanket of cheese, and boy was it good. My fiance enjoyed his chile relleno, and I liked my carnitas too. The carnitas were a tad bit dry, but still tasty. I think if I went again, I would try something else, but I loved the rice and beans. Have realistic expectations for what you're going to get, and go elsewhere if you're looking for authentic. But if you need me, I'll be over here gaining my quarantine fifteen with cheese and sour cream and tortillas. read more

It turns out that guacamole doesn't come with chips. Do what? Am I suppose to eat guacamole with a spoon? Okay, so it was over $8.00. I love guacamole. This is the best local Mexican chain in the metro. Because everyone in the metro is familiar with Chellino's I'll use it as a reference point. Aside from the food here being significantly tastier than Chellino's and the price being the same if not marginally cheaper. The portion sizes are exceptionally generous. I ordered a Coke and it came out to 2.99 and the cup it came in was larger than the largest Oncue or 7/11 drink you can get, my friend ordered a horchata which is usually a premium priced item and it was a dollar more at 3.99 and the cup was even larger, comically larger. What's more is I've never had anyone offer me To-go drinks or Sopapillas after the table finishes their meal, you have to ask every time at Chellino's and if you didn't know they sopapilas for free you'd never get one. The theme here is generosity and classic Americana style business sense. My father was in the restaurant business and I know what cheap bulk Sysco food taste like and I'm always reminded of it when I eat at Chellino's, which isn't to say that it's bad because Chellino's si always be nostalgic but it is to say that it's sorta just thrown together, heated up. and it's almost all premade ingredients with minimal fresh ingredients or cooking involved. This place on the other hand tasted like everything was from scratch. The ambiance was great because the kitchen is open concept so you can watch them make your food fresh to order as you enjoy the chips and dip. The salsa was made from scratch and the cheese sauce tasted similar to Ted's white queso except it was on the house and not a surcharge. Can't say enough great things about the place and it'll me my new go to for Mexican. I'd go as far as to say it's significantly better than Chellino's and chuys, and on-par or slightly beat by uncle Julio's. read more

The food here is okay, the service is spectacular. If you like Mexican food this place should satisfy your craving for it. Do not expect anything your mom made. I have to say i was a little disappointed in this place. It seems like a good little joint but the food is just good not great. Like I said it would satisfy your craving but I wouldn't call it a destination so its good if your are in the area and crave some Mexican food. We started outside but have to move in doors because of the wind. The experience would have probably been better had we stayed pout doors.
