Homemade tortilla chips, guacamole, spicy salsa, salsa verde, homemade taco sauce
Shereen A.

The BEST AUTHENTIC Mexican street food in Thomasville. This gem is out-of-the-way and unpretentious. It is a prime example of less is more. No fancy decor to trick you into thinking the food should probably be good... THE FOOD IS PHENOMENAL... because it is the main focus of this family owned and operated establishment. The prices are beyond affordable, so we had to try it all. The homemade tortilla chips, guacamole and salsa are perfection. We had the asada (steak), pollo (chicken) and pastor (pork) tacos, as well as an order of the birrias (bbq beef tacos with melted cheese) and empanadas (filled with chicken). My palate almost couldn't handle how delicious the food was. Rich, flavorful, zesty... absolutely to die for. We will be back, again and again. Drink options are plentiful; ranging from water to Mexican (Jarritos) sodas and also all of the popular American soda brands. The seating consists of four picnic tables. They were clean and there are large napkin holders on each table. You're going to need them, but you're not going to care how messy the food might be because the flavors will put you in a trance. My kids literally had to keep reminding me to wipe my mouth. I didn't care at all that I had sauce running down my chin, savoring every bite was top priority. I could see the lack of indoor seating being something that prevents people from trying this place, but I am here to tell you, if you let that stop you... YOU ARE MISSING OUT! This is a PERFECT date spot if you don't want an uptight lunch or dinner date. You order at the window, get your drinks and grab a seat. The picnic tables are large and very comfortable. You can talk, enjoy being outdoors, and then dig in and have some laughs over how messy you're going to get if you take advantage of trying the homemade taco sauces. Totally worth it. This is my new date spot, especially for the fall and winter months. If you don't want to sit outside, you can either order your food to-go at the window or call it in ahead of time for pick-up. I saw MANY people pull up to pick up their orders and leave and I heard the phone ringing non-stop and orders being placed that way. Tacos and a movie night, tacos and a game night, tacos on the porch, tacos are versatile... they're made for eating anywhere and anytime. I encourage anyone that has been unsure of this place due to its location, lack of indoor seating or the fact that it is a hole in the wall to TRY IT IMMEDIATELY. You will thank me. You're welcome. Side note: They make tamales once a week from scratch and they are available for sale only on Friday and Saturday. They are a MUST!

This is the best Mexican restaurant in south Georgia, by far! My wife and I eat here at least once a week.

Excellent food & quick service. I had both carne asada and tacos de camaron (shrimp). Both were delicious.

When I arrived to pick up the dinner, they were closed and I waited for 30 minutes. While waiting, I left numerous messages at Rocco's Italian Restaurant since the food truck is obviously owned by the restaurant. No one answered or returned any of my calls. Later in the week i did speak with Stephanie who said yes, the food truck didn't open that day as they had an event and it was their online vendor Door Dash, who took payment and we should deal with Door Dash. i just spoke with the truck operator on the phone and he talked to the owner and confirmed we would have to deal with Door Dash. Door dash is the vendor they use for online ordering and the customer should not be responsible to resolve. Really? Wouldn't it have been the correct customer service thing to do and give your loyal customer the food they ordered (and always enjoyed) Instead of telling them to try and get their money back from Door Dash? Try to retain customers instead of refusing to make things right? It just doesn't make sense to me.

A wonderful weekly event that brings the community together for great food, music, and friendship!…read more Food Truck Thursdays at Lake Ella Park are always a relaxing time to spend with friends, hanging out under the canopy trees and listening to a local band or musician. With food, there's usually about 8 trucks or so scattered around, with everything from pizza, tacos, and reuben sandwiches to cupcakes and other sweets. Plus, you can take advantage of the businesses in the cottages for sweet ice cream, peanut brittle, and snowballs (which were my personal favorite). Remember to bring a camp chair or blanket, as there is no seating available. Also, if you want, you can bring beer or wine. Finally, you could end up having to park all the way down the street, so you may want to arrive early just in case.

The stage was angled oddly this time so it was not directly facing the majority of the crowd. Also, there was a huge tree right in front of the stage which blocked the view. Parking is a pain typically with any event at Lake Ella. There were 7 food trucks out there this time, which includes Lucy & Leo's cupcakes in an adorable vintage style camper. I bought food from El Criollo and Street Chefs. Friends bought food from Valhalla and Fired Up Pizza. Overall, if the weather is good, this is a relaxing way to spend an evening out.

First off, way to go Dawn O. for setting up the business listing. Aren't Elites the best?!…read more Anyways, Valhalla has been a staple at Food Truck Thursday's and First Friday's for years. And for good reason. The portions are ginormous and I'm always left satisfied. Last night's sandwich was a beast of a meal. The Viking contained mountains of roast beef (sliced to order) and a heaping helpful of delicious horseradish mayo. Winner winner, roast beef dinner. The sweet potatoes were long and tender. Compared to other SPF's around town, they're run of the mill, but still very good. You can never go wrong with Valhalla Grill. Check 'em out for yourself!

Tonight's special, the Smashburger, was the meal my husband ordered. It is half a lb with caramelized onions, American cheese, and bacon. You can get any entree in combo form with sweet potato or crumble fries, tater tots or eggplant fries. In addition, you can add poutine or beer cheese to your sides. Sadly they were out of beer cheese, but I was not disappointed with the eggplant fries and horseradish mayo I got with my Phoenix or spicy version of a gyro. I think someone who can handle a bit of spice can tackle the Phoenix because it is slightly spicy, but not very spicy with its Thai sauce. I got a "smaller" burger for my son, but it is as big as his head. He will have lunch for tomorrow as well. My daughter chose The Curry Phoenix, but got the sauce on the side because she is sensitive to spicy dishes. We will be back and often! I am so grateful they are located nearby, even if it is only temporary.
