Stopping in Thomasville overnight, we were disappointed to find most restaurants were closed on Mondays. But Jonah's was open. We arrived to find a waiting line of 6 - 8 standing outside in the rain. Turnover was quick & we were seated within 10 minutes. Hush puppies and shrimp & grits were superb.

Family recommended Jonah's for our first visit to Thomasville, Georgia. We started with the Green Tomatoes which came out piping hot and delicious! Husband had the Crab Cakes which were perfectly cooked and full of Crab! I had the Shrimp & Grits which were full of vegetables(surprised by that), lots of delicious shrimp and creamy, smooth grits. The Wait staff from the front of the house to our waitress were delightful! They were slammed as it was Black Friday, but everyone acted like it was nothing special, just business as usual. Glad we went and will be back to Jonah's on a return visit to Thomasville!

The best shrimp and grits I've ever had! The service is always fantastic and everything is very reasonably priced as well. Jonah's never disappoints!!

Wowwww!! One of my favorite restaurants ever! Seriously the best Brussel sprouts I've ever had and the most amazing mashed potatoes. The shrimp was perfectly spicy and smooth. I've never described shrimp as "smooth" but it's just that good I guess The staff is so kind and warm! I love the vibe of the restaurant and will be coming back

I finally got a chance to partake in a meal at Jonah's! Each time I've tried to go on the weekend, the line was just too long, and I ended up going to another great, local restaurant in Thomasville. This time, we were there within minutes of them opening, on a weekday, and were seated immediately. The inside area is not super spacious, but certainly adequate. Our waitress was awesome! However, it did seem that a couple of tables in which the customers came in after us, were served their entrees before we received ours. Not sure what happened here, but I will plan to go back again - if only to make sure this was a fluke. Great food is wonderful, but so is overall customer service - including the wait time for entrees. With all of this being said, everything was delicious!!! We started out with hushpuppies, followed by fried grouper bites, fried green tomatoes, cyclone shrimp, and clam chowder (basically sampled all of the appetizers). :-) Our entrees included shrimp and grits, catfish, salmon, and grouper. We were all thoroughly satisfied with the food.

We had a great lunch today. The front entrance was clean, well kept & inviting. The Christian music playing truly made it even better of an experience. As a spirit filled person, I felt the presence of God while enjoying my lunch date with my husband. We had a great waiter, Willie! He was very on top of our drinks & checking on us. He was super kind. Ordered these AMAZING Cyclopes shrimp appetizer & they were literally SO DELICIOUS! Perfect sauce amount as well as phenomenal batter. Very southern, great hushpuppies as a starter, delicious crab cake BLT. The grits were delicious too! Perfectly seasoned AND hot, fresh fries. We would absolutely recommend & go back! Take your friends & family and enjoy this peaceful & pleasant restaurant.

Thomasville is such a quaint Southern town. I'm driving thru headed East and it's always worth the stop. First time here and it was not a disappointment. So Good!! Inside of restaurant lets you know that you are welcomed and ready to eat well. It looks like a fresh made from scratch restaurant and its sounds like it as well. You can hear the clank of plates in the kitchen, people chattering, staff serving. Cool place to come eat. Hush Puppies when you sit down. Perfectly seasoned, crunchy exterior and moist inside. I could have ate all 3 of them. Saving room for rest of my food. I will take pics of each course. Typing as I go. Cant wait for my next course. I ordered a house salad as a side, you get two sides with some entrees. As expected, super fresh and crisp greens. Feta cheese creamy, candied walnuts, light citrus vinaigrette. It's actually a big salad for being an upgraded side option. It's time for the dinner plate now!!! Ok wow. Blackened Black Grouper was cooked to perfection. Great heat in the spice. Fish glistening. Man so good and the collard greens are excellent. Smokey bacon flavor garlic and a broth to die for. I ordered some shrimp on the side and blackened them as well. I'm so happy. Please go here. Great service. Fresh and Fast. Southern cooking at its finest. Can tell the locals come here. Really good. I'll be back to eat the Shrimp and Grits with room for dessert. See this place soon!!!

Soooo delicious! We were shocked to be on a 70 minute wait but once we were served, we understood why! Complimentary hush puppies were completely unexpected and such a treat! The classic shrimp and grits were truly stellar and notable mention for the crab stuffed salmon - amazing portion and cooked to perfection! Our service was excellent too.

Growing up in Tallahassee, I'd heard about Thomasville and the famous Jonah's Fish & Grits. In college, I used to try coming on weekends while visiting the family at home but the wait was always so long. There's a small back patio that we always sit in because I usually bring the pup with me to Thomasville. In the summer, it gets quite hot, and with heat and humidity comes flies... but they have recently invested in these fly fans (not sure what exactly they're called but that's what I'm calling them lol) and they work perfectly against the army of flies that try to attack while eating. Pro tip - don't let them forget your complementary hush puppies! Hush puppy refills cost extra. But they are so so good that if you're hungry, it's worth the extra $. My favorite dish is the shrimp & scallop pesto pasta. It's rich and heavy but so freaking good. The shrimp scampi is also a good option but not as flavorful as the pesto pasta. Also SCALLOPS FTW. Not a pasta fan? Try the shrimp and grits or the big fish grouper sandwich (get it blackened for the ultimate flavor explosion). 100% my go-to restaurant when I'm day-tripping to Thomasville!

Food is always phenomenal! From the complimentary hush puppies that are fresh, sweet and airy to the famous shrimp and grits! Very popular restaurant so expect to wait... good service and great location. Always a must when in Thomasville!

I settled in for the fried shrimp, sweet potato fries and coleslaw, while Dawn had the Greek-shrimp salad. We were served quickly and the shrimp was fresh and cooked nicely. I like my fries just a little more crispy than what I received, but they weren't bad. The slaw was good, with just a hint of dill in the mix. Dawn absolutely loved her salad, it was seasoned just right according to her. Everyone was friendly, the waitress made sure we were okay, and the ambience was good. But here, they do bring it to your table. The issue is the credit card screen; you have 4 options: 20%, 25%, 30%, and "no tip". As I didn't have the option to choose less than 20%, I chose no tip. We stumbled upon this place after not wanting to wait the long wait at our fave spot, Jonah's. It was sort of hard to tell if it was open or not but we quickly learned that it was and decided to give it a try. It looked pretty empty upon walking in, but that's also because the layout is interesting. Our server was nice, when we saw him which wasn't much. Food wise, it could've been better but again, wasn't the absolute worst. I did the build a sampler with 3 items from the appetizer menu to include fried cheese sticks, fried calamari, and popcorn shrimp. The calamari was unseasoned and I didn't like the breading. The cheese sticks seemed to use old cheese. The shrimp were pretty okay, I'd probably get those if I were to go back again. My mom had a boil with just headless shrimp that came with corn and potatoes. I had her corn and it was not done enough or seasoned well. Overall, the experience could've been better.

Very clean; spacious dining area. We were warmly greeted and seated immediately. Our server was super nice, and very patient as we went over the menu deciding what to order. Unfortunately, aside from the seafood boils, there are no items on the menu that include broiled/grilled/blackened, etc. food items. Almost everything is fried! Note, there is salad and a small number of veggies on the menu. But, it is ok to "indulge" every now and then! :o) My mom ordered the Flounder with coleslaw and sweet potato fries; I had shrimp tacos and sweet potato fries. My daughter and one of my sisters both ordered the shrimp and sausage boil; and my other sister had catfish, shrimp, and cajun fries. We started the meal off with the sampler (cheese sticks, chicken fingers, shrimp, hushpuppies). We also ordered the beignets (two orders) and decided to have those come out with the appetizers! Sometimes, it is good to eat your dessert first! LOL! All in all, we enjoyed our meal; everything tasted fresh and was really good. There was a minor issue with my check/bill, but the manager resolved it quickly. Though this restaurant will probably not be on my list of "favorites" (due to the menu full of fried items), I am sure I will visit another time just to try one of the seafood boils. However, I will certainly recommend this place to others - especially those who are in the mood for fried foods.

I did surf n turf, medium well which most kitchens struggle with. No different here, cooked well all the way through. Baked potato was genuinely cool to the touch. Collard greens were excessively seasoned with vinegar. Not good at all. The presentation was shockingly bad, one side on my plate had a rim of black pepper, the other side had a rim of butter from the shrimp, that's my best guess. Shockingly bad. My wife ordered ribeye medium rare. The outer part was well done and the inside was very rare, cook temperature way too high. Baked potato cool to the touch again. From my seat the kitchen looked chaotic and undisciplined, no quality control at the pass at all, no floor manager present anywhere to be seen. Sometimes my view was blocked by employees clocking in to work. This table should be the last to be assigned period. Non culinary folks could find easy ways to improve this place, linen napkins, side plates, hot food, precision cooking etc. The lack of oversight for the food preparation and presentation of the food killed the experience for sure, no supervision or management of the kitchen and food.

It was just a short wait for our food to be freshly prepared. We both opted for the same sandwich with different bagel flavors. The sesame bagel was absolutely loaded with sesame seeds.
