Good to go meal! Pretty healthy actually also came with chips and salsa and the waitress was HOT.

It's been over 10 years since I've been here and I decided to stop by yesterday for lunch while I was in town. We ordered flautas & Baja fish tacos. Both were delicious! Chips and salsa were fresh and we were also given a bowl of soup before our meal which was a great. The service was quick and friendly. Also, the space is old but very well taken care of and clean which was nice. Overall great experience!

Had another great meal at this place. Hubby had chorizo n eggs, with beans, rice and tortillas. He cleaned his plate! I had a bean tostada. It was delicious, but I brought my own French dressing. (That's how tostadas are served where I come from. Drizzled with French dressing and salsa of course. Also ordered a chili verde burrito to go ( for our dinner).

    All done!

This is my GO TO Mexican restaurant whenever I go to or drive through Santa Maria. It's like Cheers, everyone knows everyone that walks in. It's a typical family restaurant, small but cozy. The food is amazing!!! If it wasn't it would not be my GO TO! When in Santa Maria or driving through, stop in for lunch or Dinner!!! Tell them Juan Carlos el Colombiano sent you!!!!

I'm not really the type of person to complain about food service but this was by far the worst service I've received! I was actually excited about eating here since it was recommended to me and I was super disappointed. First off, when I asked about drink recommendations the lady was very short with her answers. I ordered an alcoholic beverage in which she didn't ID me which was a red flag since the beginning, I'm literally barely old enough to drink. I disregard her attitude and was looking forward to my Agua Chiles which was more of a Shrimp cocktail in green sauce. I've never had Agua chiles with tomato in it...Don't get me started about the shrimp itself, it was chewy, and fishy in taste which can only mean the shrimp were old. The ambiance was unwelcoming and I could hear our server talking about her weekend plans more than the TV playing in the background. As well as listening to her brag about paying for a bunch of clothing items for someone and her mentioning under garments too. At that point I wasn't even half way through my shrimp soup you can say lol. But I was disgusted with the shrimp, and the conversation of our server with someone she was calling Abuelito. The person who I was with was embarrassed for even suggesting to dine here.

We will drive hours out of the way to eat here. Found this place a few years ago while staying in Santa Maria and every chance we get we stop by and the food and hospitality never fails. This is one of my all time favorite Mexican restaurants

Every time we come into Santa Maria we look forward to coming here. The food is good. This time I ordered just one chile relleno and the hub's had some shrimp platter. I also orders a margarita on the rocks. The food was delicious as always. The service was a bit slow and they weren't packed. The margarita was horrible as it tasted like pure syrup. I want tequila not just the mix. Maybe it was the type of tequila but it was still not up to par. Despite all that, they flavor their food so well and I will coming here again once I'm in town.

Seriously the bomb. Lo mejor has the best Mexican in Santa Maria. That and Herradura are my 2 favorites here. Salsa is amazing.

This was surprisingly really good. I ordered the huarache and a fountain drink for total of $10…read more The food was very filling and delicious. I never tried a huarache before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The base is like a crispy dough, and I got it with all the toppings (no meat). I really liked the sauce they put on top of the dish. The service was very quick and nice. Inside is a very causal dining seating. The surrounding area is a little confusing, and it was hard to find via google maps.

Really wanted to love this place and give it the glowing remarks that they seemed to have on here…read more We passed up a few other places because of the reviews on here. We decided on this place because it stated that they served menudo/pozole on the weekends and that is what I was in the mood for. As soon as we walked in we noticed it was a tad warm. As if they didn't have the a/c on. However, they had their front door open. We walked up to the counter, and my husband was giving the cashier our order, but she seemed like she was in a hurry. Which was weird because no one was behind us. We chose a table closest to the front door, so it was cooler. About 5 minutes past and our number was called so my husband got up to get our order and as he started walking back towards out table I could tell on his face something was wrong. He set the tray down that had chips, salsa and his plate of chicken taquitos, rice and beans and says "apparently they no longer have anymore pozole so she didn't charge me." So why did not one come to our table and let us know and see what we wanted instead? Why did they wait until this was done to tell us knowing this was a dine in order? So then I say ok well can I just get what you ordered? By this time there was about 6 people ahead of my order. So now my husband's food was getting cold even though I insisted he eat but he refused to eat until I received mine. As I said, we wanted to love this place. We've learned that little unassuming hole in the wall places such as these are gems, but when customer service fails like this, you don't make people want to come back. It was just really careless. No one was behind us when our order was submitted. There was at least 5 minutes that past before a line formed after us. There were only 3 items on that order between the front of the house and the back of the house no one caught that one of those orders was an item you ran out of, and you should probably fix that sooner rather than later? Being in the restaurant business is being of service to people and in that moment I the customer and my best interest was not a priority and that's disappointing.

Oh boy, real Santa Maria BBQ! Woo Hoo! Tri-Tip is the name of the game in these parts so that's what I'm doing. Got the Tri-Tip Dip and a side of BBQ sauce so I could have it both ways. I was really looking forward to these West Coast Chili Beans too. Wife wanted BBQ Chicken so I got her the BBQ Chicken Combo. I asked the girl at the register if we could get dark meat with the combo. She looked a little confused and said "You mean like Tri-Tip?" Oh boy. No, dark meat chicken like a thigh and drumstick. "Oh, do you want a breast or a thigh?". Let's roll with the thigh, thanks. Our food came out pretty quickly. I asked for horseradish for the Tri-Tip Dip and was politely told they don't have any. Silly me, why would they have horseradish when they sell a French Dip Sandwich? The Tri-Tip Dip was decent. Not going to lie. The West Coast Chili Beans were a disappointment. I expected so much better. The BBQ sauce was runny and tastes like molasses and maple syrup. Nah, Stick with the Au Jus and you will be fine. The Chicken Combo was a train wreck. Beans cold, rice cold, chicken overcooked by a mile. It's not easy to overcook the hell out of dark meat chicken but they found a way. Wife not happy, at all. It's another one and done. Sorry Rancho Nipomo Deli & BBQ.
