Lacking flavor all around. The rice and beans, which are a staple on most of the dishes, didn't have much in the way of flavor (and the beans were not very warm, not warm enough to melt the little bit of cheese they put on top). We got the flautas - the chicken did not taste like it was seasoned at all... and the flautas were only partially filled so the ends were nothing but fried tortillas - and the chicken closest to the ends was also fried crispy (but not in a good way). And huevos con choriso - lots of eggs but only flavoring seemed to be from the choriso. was missing a creamy element (avocado slices or something). The green salsa they provided tasted off somehow. And a birra taco - first time trying birra so hard to say if it was good or not but would have to say it was only okay. The tortilla chips looked like they were bagged chips and were stale. I previously gave this place a 5 star rating and unfortunately I retract my previous statement. I visit frequently and my experience today was absolutely frustrating! I'm aware that many small businesses are hitting hard times, however this place is starting to go downhill. I stopped in and asked for a simple order of street tacos, 2 orders of flautas and tamarindo to go. I patiently waited nearly 40 minutes and the tacos came out. When I asked when about the 2 orders of flautas, they asked if I'd paid for them. My response was yes, you charged me upfront. I waited nearly another 20 minutes and only 1 order came out. When I asked about the 2nd order, everyone looked confused. By this point, I'd started to lose my patience. Instead of trying to make it right, they simply shrugged their shoulders at me. I placed an order to bring home to my family and I was now an order short, so what does that mean... I gave my dinner to one of the kids and ended up making a sandwich. Service is slow, I had the steak fajitas or should I say the over cooked steak fajitas. My server was fantastic even though he didn't speak much English and I didn't speak much Spanish, so it's definitely an authentic environment. However the steak fajitas were horrible, The meat was overcooked, and really chewy, you know how when you get cheaper beef you get those strands of fat and gristle? That's The meat, later actually I use a strains to floss my teeth so I guess it did come in handy!! three tortillas (shouldn't tortillas be in an even number? Ok I'm not sure why people are writing bad reviews. To be honest, I was skeptical bc of the reviews but this place is legit. If your not used to homemade authentic food don't come here. But that's your loss. This hole in the wall is pretty dang good! The pozole is on point. The gorditas, sopes, quesadillas, and flautas were amazing! I dont care what the reviews say, if you like authentic this is the place. Im from northside fort worth meaning i know good mexican food and THIS is the good stuff. Servers are kind and food came out in a timely manner. Much to my surprise, after trying the food, It was pretty empty. I can almost guarantee its because the people in this area dont like authentic but i can tell you the BIRRIA IS SOOOOO GOOOODDD!!!!! Ambiance is chill, just a regular mexican restaurant. Absolutely terrible food it takes allot for me to write a bad review, I would not recommend this place. I walked in sat down hate when the table is attached to the wall so you can't move it. That was the first thing next they bring chips and salsa the salsa I am not kidding wasn't more than 2 oz. it was in a tiny ramekin that you couldn't even fit a chip in. Next the server came up with a menu that had water all over it , it was paper so I couldn't read it. I asked for another one. Any how once I viewed the menu I realized it was pretty over priced for Mexican food, I asked the server if the made the shrimp cocktail in the big glass in the tomato broth as I didn't see it on the menu. She no sorry they don't have that so any how I ordered Pozole , after 25 minute wait it finally came, a big bowl, was a nice size for $11, well until I dug in, first they gave you less than a teaspoon of cilantro and onion and 2 slices of lime cut so thin they were dried and had no juice in them, next I tasted the broth it basically tasted like water NO FLAVOR, well I stirred it and I swear to god there was 2 pieces of pork the size of a teaspoon and was mostly all fat. It was basically a bowl of water and hominy. Just terrible so I left it , and went to pay the bill, as I was walking out some guy was eating a huge margarita glass full of the shrimp cocktail the server told me they didn't make. This place never seems to disappoint and the only reason I keep coming back is it saves the gas of going to Fort Worth to get good tacos. A couple times I ordered like door dash or Uber eats they shorted me a couple tacos. They fill their salsa cups like a quarter of the way up like in this picture. And on todays order I've learned they clearly don't pay attention to the notes. I got menudo and asked for hominy (which menudo should come with as a default) and oregano and chopped serranos both of which I didn't receive. Shocker. read more

I really want to like this place. I was so excited to see this restaurant opened because we need more authentic Mexican restaurants in the area. However, I was really disappointed. My husband ordered tacos which looked and tasted just okay, and I was craving menudo. Upon ordering, he was told they had no menudo (which I think is overly priced) but then miraculously they said they had some left. Weird. I also wanted a side order of warm flour tortillas to dip in my menudo but they were hard and literally the texture of a cracker. Therefore, no soft, warm tortillas i could roll up. I really want to try this place again but very, very hesitant. I hope they can learn from the reviews and put more heart and soul into the quality of their food they serve. read more

We tried breakfast tacos, chilaquiles, and another breakfast plate. The food was incredibly delicious and the service was fast and efficient. We can't wait to return to try other things. The food was a great value too, the breakfast taco was bigger than a burrito at most places. read more
