I ALWAYS get the Al Pastor Burrito and they carve it off the spit as you order it.

Well this has been a restaurant since as far back as I can remember. Yes, for decades!…read moreI think this is the one that may last! Inside is clean, colorful & spacious. The staff seems kind, efficient & welcoming. My mother turned 80 & on her birthday she only wanted food to go from here. Specifically, Suiza chicken enchiladas. I got their flautas & my husband a chicken burrito in a spinach tortilla with mole sauce on the side. My mom loved her suiza enchiladas. My husband loved his burrito, said their mole sauce was different than he has ever had. He ate it all, so I'm guessing still great! My flautas were pretty, one corn colored, one red & one green. My only critiques: the chicken was slightly dry & they didn't include guacamole like in most places. For the price I'd probably get something different next time. Yes, there will for sure be a next time.

The service was solid. The food came out quickly. The quality of the food was good. I wasn't blown away, but had no regrets over trying out the restaurant. The only disappointment was that they didn't offer more Mexican breakfast items. The sign out front mentioned breakfast, so I was hoping they'd have it at 11:45am. The menu we were given contained no breakfast section.

We've been to La Doña on multiple occasions, why I haven't written a review is beyond me…read more.. Today we came in for their new weekend buffet option @ 25.00/person, which includes fountain and iced tea drinks. Excellent idea for a buffet... the last time we had AYCE w/ Mexican choices was at HometownBuffet or even at the Golden Coral lol La Doña offers authentic Mexican cuisine and the thoughtfulness that is seen in the dishes executed was really well done! We saw them being advertised on FB for weekend buffet at La Doña .. trying to get the word out, gatekeeping feels wrong....Hoping these reviews generate more foot traffic! Hits for me were their in-house tortillas and some smack verde chiliquiles! The fam enjoyed all their protein selection, pork chili verde, chicken fajitas, carne asada...their refried beans are so good: thick, creamy and powerfully flavorful with that lard/porky essence, along side some aromatic fluffy rice! There's chorizo and eggs, my daughter devoured along w/ some pineapple jello! Hubby liked their chicken mole and steak rancheros! They even offered a bread pudding w/ a flan topping...so yummy! Pazole was sublimely porky and smokey, and their hominy cooked to the desired consistency, soft and not chalky... their menudo w/ honeycomb tripe was very soft, no need to chew consistency...good enough for the teefless really! Add all fixings they offer on the side w/ a healthy squeeze of lime juice, onions and cilantro. The young ladies who served us brought endless drinks and cleared our plates and checked on us every so often. The vibe is here is always "welcome home familia"... la Doña really takes care of you...check them out yourself and support your local businesses! Mucho gracias!

During that visit, I decided I would try something different. I usually get the three item combo platter and get three enchiladas and one tostada. And I loved it every single time! This time I went with the carne asada platter. I think it was listed under the specialty dishes, but for sure it was $19. The prices have gone up significantly since we started eating here. We loved this restaurant before because the food was great and the prices were reasonable. But I was very disappointed in the Carne Asada. It was a cheap piece of meat that was dry and had average flavor. I think La Dona could do so much better. They have made a lot of changes recently. Hopefully, that doesn't mean the quality of the food isn't as good anymore. They now have a breakfast buffet on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 2pm. Haven't tried it yet but I plan to. Service and ambience is the same as always although I did notice there were less customers than normal. Definitely going back to order my usual. I made a mistake trying something new.

But T'zunun was great as always! We were able to get in right before the brunch rush without a reservation and sat outside on the patio, which was really nice. Our waiter was very friendly and made sure we got the chicharrones, which were delicious. The food presentation was beautiful and everything was flavorful and well prepared. What I really appreciate about T'zunun is the consistency, whether you come on a regular weekday, a Friday night, or for brunch, the quality and service are always solid. Everything was wonderful and it made for a great Easter brunch experience. Definitely recommend!

I had the corn and the house salad with grapefruit and pear and the mussels. I'm used to mussels in broth, but not with this flavor profile. It was like kiss your fingers exquisitely good. Probably the best mussels I've eaten. A+. Very reasonably priced for what it is. Next time I'll try the ceviche. Oh my god there's a happy hour too, and the mussels are on the happy hour menu! Next time I'm in tinez / pleasant hill, I'm going to beg my wife for us to go here. And also there's even a kid menu. The Mexican chocolate cheesecake was impossibly good. My sons apparently looked tired because we were sitting here a while. So the server popped out with complimentary churros for them. Not just amusement park churros. These were gourmet churros with a spoon of gelato. Love this place.
