Little family run taco spot making some of the best tacos in North Dallas. Food was incredible, everything came out hot and fresh. They have tacos, gorditas, burritos, tortas, quesadillas, while I didn't get to try everything yet, I plant to! Carne asada and barbacoa are excellent, but you can't go wrong. If this taqueria was close to me, I'd have a hard time going anywhere else. I can't say enough good things about this taqueria. So I found out about this taqueria from a friend I met recently. She said they have great tacos and we have a deal that I would try her place if she tried my place also. I came by today mind you it abou 14min away from my apartment. The place is a little whole in the wall location run and operated by 3 people. It has about 7 tables very small but reminds me of places back in south Texas. I saw the menu and everything looked good. I ordered 2 breakfast tacos on flour tortillas egg, bacon, and cheese and 3 fajita tacos on corn. Took about 5 minutes to make l. It was brought out to my table. The presentation was nothing special they ate just tacos. So let me just start with breakfast tacos they are not your regular size breakfast tacos they are very small, about the same size as the regular street tacos, which is a big disappointment. The flavor is good. The bacon egg and cheese all taste fantastic and can't really go wrong with breakfast tacos. I then tried the fajita tacos, and they came with double corn tortillas, which is good. The meat was flavor full but this was not fajita, more like bisteak because the meat was a little rubbery, which every taqueria tried to pass as fajita. I was born at night, not last night. I could be wrong, but I don't think I am. Plus, bisteak is cheaper to buy, so I'm pretty sure that's what it was. At 2 dollars a taco, come on, be honest. Tacos were good but nothing to rave about, just regular tacos. Place is a solid mid card contender. -Location 3 outa 10 place was super small. -Breakfast tacos 3 outa 10 would have got a higher score, but they were really 2 small for the price. -Street fajita really bisteak tacos 4 out 10 nothing special. Plus, I don't believe it was really fajita The red salsa was pretty good. Put it on all the tacos. All in all, I'd give this place a 3 at best. I've eaten at smaller places with better prices and food. Not to take away from this place, good spot to come too if you're craving taquitos for a quick fix. I just wouldn't go outa of my way again to come here. Update as I was about to leave, I saw the cook using a meat grinder def not fajita/skirt steak It was bisteak, which is a cheap cut of meat. I've been on the hunt for a good Mexican food restaurant for months! Way I test it out is with tacos. It's pretty hard to mess up a taco... but Los Pinos serves some DELICIOUS tacos. I ordered 6 tacos and 2 gorditas. The gorditas were also just as delicious. It looks to be a mom and pop restaurant. Place is basically a hole in the wall but a true gem. Do not expect a high dollar Mexican food restaurant... this surpasses that. This will be my go to spot without a doubt. read more

BEST menudo I've had since moving to the metroplex 6 years ago! Delicious flavor, lots of tripe & hominy, complete with onions, cilantro, lime & tortillas! Tripe is cleaned really well, which is rare to find. After power washing our front porch, we decided to grab a bite for lunch from here since it was down the street from where we had to return the equipment. It just opened recently. Countless other hole in the wall Mexican joints have lived in this spot previously. We're originally from Cali and love our carne asada street tacos - so we judge our tacos based on that taste preference. The young tween that took my order said they have fajita, which is what they consider asada. Now fajita is hit or miss in the flavoring when you want that asada taste. Ok, fine let's give it a try. I ordered a taco plate and 3 more tacos on the side. Not sure what the pricing breakdown was, but we spent $14.00. Didn't wait long for my order and we were on our merry way back home. Side note, you can eat in during this pandemic or take to-go. They have a face shield at the register, hand sanitizer, and every worker was wearing a mask. You must wear a mask to enter. And it's cash only. The menu is limited, and they serve menudo on the weekends. It looks like a family owned and run small business. Ok, back to the tacos at hand. We get home and quickly devour our tacos. The meat had a nice flavor, and was cooked good. I asked for extra verde and red salsa, but quickly realized one was almost enough for my 3 tacos since they fill the container to the top. The green had some good kick to it, and the hubster said the red as well (red's spicier). Husband doesn't usually eat beans and rice unless it has some flavor. He ate his half of it this time. After a friend took me for Gorditas I was hooked. The food was great and I kept coming back. Then i noticed something that was confirmed to me on my LAST time there. There's a kid that says he's the owner's son and I noticed that the price for the food would change when he was on the register. I always ordered the same thing but for some reason it would be a dollar higher every time he rung me up. Yesterday I went and again ordered the same thing. He verbally told me it was $27 which again was $1 more than I usually pay. I used my Apple Pay and when I received my notice it was $28.01. I asked the kid why it was not $27 like he said and he said "the credit card company is charging you that." I asked if it was a transaction fee passed on to me and he said no. So then I told him credit card companies don't do that so he switched and said it was extra for fajita meat. I told him I order the same thing all the time and the other person charges me $26. He said the other employee who is there a lot doesn't know the prices. I explained to him that it was bad business so he started being condescending and asked if I wanted my dollar back. I told him it wasn't about a dollar but about principle. If he thinks it's ok to overcharge me a dollar or two then he's doing it to others. I'm all for paying for service but not when you're being dishonest and think I'm stupid to believe your lame reasons for the overcharge. I felt compelled to write a review of this restaurant after my first visit because of the phenomenal food I just ate. This is a small, small restaurant that is the true definition of family-owned AND operated, which I am a fan of, but nonetheless has nothing to do with why you would come here- the food. Everything came out within a few minutes, cooked fresh, and tasted amazing. From a limited menu I tried three types of gorditas on a single plate followed by street tacos. The gorditas were delicious. I could have ate 10 were it not necessary for me to return to work right after. The rice and beans that came with them were not secondary thoughts, the flavor was not absent from any portion of this meal. In a small joint like this, with food as good as it was, even the bottle of diet Coke I drank seemed to upsell itself, rounding out what was a perfect lunch stop in the middle of the workday. From the exterior, there's only a banner as a sign. Inside, it's small, but very clean. I was dubious at first when I saw it, but decided to give it a try. Upon walking in, the place smelled fresh...super clean! I bought a burrito to try out and the ladies there were very polite and welcoming. The burrito was of a good size, very tasty and authentic! Much better quality than Chipotle for sure. Sauce came along on the side in case u wanted to use it....and it too was tasty! The overall experience merits 5 stars!
