I have enjoyed playing Bingo in the past at Chilitos, but the new Bingo caller grates on my nerves like nails on a chalkboard. It's like she tries too hard to be funny or cute & doesn't shut up between calling numbers. She is constantly asking if we can hear her, if she's calling too fast or too slow, & if we've caught up! Please, for the love of God, just call the numbers & stop all the commentary. Also, she doesn't need to tell jokes or sing the song "B-I-N-G-O." And she says "Guys" all the time...."ok guys, here's the next number." I go to play Bingo to have a little fun & relax. My nerves are shot after listening to her all night. Did I mention she screams into the microphone? I'm sure she's a nice gal, but she is beyond annoying. She needs to stick with selling the cards & give up the microphone. I came for Bingo on a Wednesday. I won't be going back. Who ever the caller (gal) was for bingo was horrible. She is not consistent and keeps asking "hey guys we caught up" ? We came here for a friend group meetup with 10 people, and while we understand that's a large party, the restaurant was clearly overwhelmed. The waitress was kind and doing her best, but the service overall was confused and disorganized. Food came out slowly, almost in a turn-based fashion--some of us were nearly finished before others even got their meals. One friend ordered the ribeye, and after a long wait, the waitress admitted they had to check if they could still prepare it--as in, whether it still looked okay. That's not exactly reassuring. I ordered the chili verde, ate one taco, and immediately felt nauseous. I'm someone with a pretty strong stomach and can usually eat just about anything, but something was definitely off. Very disappointed. Ordered to go and it was really bad. The enchiladas were the worst I've ever had. Cheese enchiladas are very simple. The red sauce was dumped straight out of a .63 cent can from Walmart. We enjoyed the previous owners food once in awhile, but this was bad enough not to return. Service was very good. Didn't care for the queso as it tasted like cream of chicken soup. The beef fajitas were very good and loved the seasoning. Beans were too salty. Rice was good. Other person in party had beef fajita nachos but their meat was extremely salty as were the other party who also got beef fajitas. Another in our party got the Mikes Special and was just ok. I was disappointed as many have raved about how good this place is. The tablecloths color transferred onto our skin, arms and clothing. The plastic was tacky to the touch. read more

Today was an exciting day! We were allowed to be back at restaurants. I met some of my friends at Chilito's this afternoon & we sat on the patio, pretty great sized area that is beautifully shaded under a tree. Made an order via Uber Eats and was (2) Cheese Enchiladas short. I took the time to drive up there and explain, but my explaination was met with an arguement by the manager. I decided to give this place a third shot after avoiding it for a few years. The service is better, but the food is not. The 2 stars is only because I received excellent service this time. The food is edible, but that's about the most positive thing I can say about it. Their menu consist of mainly Tex Mex with just a few Mex options. The food is very bland. The queso was a clumpy mess that just tasted like cilantro rather than cheese. The chimichanga was soft and not crispy at all. I think this place is more of a local hangout for drinking rather than a place to enjoy delicious food. Maybe I'll just try mixed drinks next time. read more

Gave it a second try. Someone said the owners are from SoCal which is where I was born and raised for most my life. Carnitas came cubed. I asked the "owner" why the carnitas was cubed. He says its traditional. I challenged it because no it's not. Carnitas should be shredded. The service was awful. Guacamole tasted like it was out of a can. Albondigas was sub par. They took the carnitas off my bill thank you so much but I still won't be back. read more

Great family spot they have an outdoor area and plenty of TVs inside to watch your favorite sport. Separate bar area if you're just going in for a cocktail. Chilito's has very good authentic Mexican food. Tonight was the first time I've ever gone and I can honestly can say we have now found our new Mexican restaurant. Chilito's is a must go for Mexican food. Once you try it you will be hooked. I purchased the Carnia asada Ranchero that came with refried beans,rice,cheese enchiladas , albondigas soup,and flour tortillas. I also ordered a side order of chili relleno. All I have to say about my dinner is WOW! It was excellent. My wife ordered California flautas. Chicken flautas with guacamole , sourcream, beans and rice. Cooked well, tastes good. The guacamole had the perfect amount of garlic, was very good. To end the dinner we ordered soapapillas. The service was awesome also and the restaurant was very clean. I have lived in North Texas for over 35 years and still don't know how I missed Chilito's. We look forward to more visits and possibly a few catering orders. Thank you Chilito's for such a good time. This hole in the wall is what hole-in-the-walls should be: cheap and so yummy with colorful service. Chilito's is Mexican, not Tex-Mex. If I recall the story correctly, the Grandpa, after moving from California to Texas and not finding good Mexican food, decided to open up his own. The restaurant is still run by the Grandma. Uncle and nephew cook and bartend. My go-to selections are mole, relleno and carnitas, but you can't go wrong with anything. The carnitas are grilled, not deep fat fried and has such a great flavor and so tender. I will stuff myself with it and can't eat dinner later because it is that good. Mole is made fresh on Wednesdays. The recipe is from one of the old cooks. You get plenty of food. The rice and beans remind me of good Cali-Mex food. They make their own margarita mix--it is deadly good. It is a bit far to drive to Lake Dallas, but totally worth it. read more

Chilito's is locally owned and operated business (I like to support locally owned...). The food is good, the prices are good (dinner for five w/tip was $50), the staff are friendly. The salsa is made in house and is very good. I was very surprised by how much I enjoyed the chili relleno, their margaritas, and the burgers (who would have thought to order burgers at a Mexican restaurant?). Now that the lake dallas exit is closed on I35, it's not so convient to get to but worth the extra effort. read more

I love the atmosphere. There is always mariachi music playing in the background which I love. As for the food, well, I'd have to say that I like their chips and salsa and that's about it. I like the ownership and the staff is really nice, but that's about it. I take my Mexican food very seriously and very sad this restaurant didn't make the grade. Beef Fajita Nachos were poor.
