The place can get busy but it on a shopping center so you you will have plenty of parking, not close to the door but free parking in Nashville and surrounding areas, beggars can't be choosers , but trust me, you'll be glad you'll have those extra steps to buffer that belly before you get in the car. A place that's been open since 2017 and is still this busy on a Wednesday is a good sign. This is part coffee shop, part restaurant, so there are two different doors. I inadvertently went through the coffee shop one and they redirected me to the restaurant side, no problem at all. I was able to be seated at a table with no wait. My waitress came right over with water and a menu, and I was clear with her that I had about a half hour before I needed to leave. She quickly took my order, giving me recommendations when I asked for advice and was torn between a couple of different things. The menu is large and reasonably priced with a very wide selection of drinks. This isn't the most authentic Mexican food, but man is it tasty. Lots of fresh ingredients and so much flavor, a real crowd pleaser for dietary restrictions and picky eaters! I was torn between chips and queso and a burrito, so it was to my benefit that the chicken burrito comes with a side of chips and salsa, and paying a small upcharge to swap in queso meant I got all of the things I was craving in one order. Pinto beans, guacamole, chipotle aioli, and rice all packed in and put on the griddle so you get that nice sear. There's an option to add a cheese skirt to the burrito that I skipped this time but would absolutely come back for. The chips were thin and crispy, the queso hot and delicious, and I couldn't have asked for more at the price. The burrito is $11 on its own and with the chicken and my upcharge I came to about $19 with tax, plus tip. When the waitress brought my food she also brought my check and a box so I could take the other half to go and get everything out of the way. In and out in thirty minutes with food that was hot, fresh, and super delicious. The service here really goes the extra mile. Easy for a solo diner, easy for a group, and easy to just walk in for a quick meal. My only small gripe is that they may still be too popular for their parking lot, which should be slightly bigger. They've also got an interesting set of coffee and matcha drinks and a brunch menu I'd love to come back for. This is a hidden gem, and I hope locals keep showing up for the great places we already have instead of only chasing whatever just opened!

I went with the tripa and a pair of lengua tacos. We also ordered a kids chicken quesadilla for my niece. Ordering it to go, they package it quite tight with the saran wrap to avoid spillage. For the authentic street tacos, this hits hard with flavor, seasoning, and grease The lenqua and crispy tripa are the kinds I find in Houston from taco trucks that bring me to my knees. My bro-in-law found the carnitas to be his favorite with the tender pork and juice; claimed these were some of the best tacos he's had. Squeeze the lime and drizzle some green salsa on those things to treat your taste buds. We also snuck in a taste of the quesadilla before feeding it to my niece. Both of us appreciated the texture of the tortilla and meltiness of the cheese with the chicken. The quesadilla is quite large; we couldn't believe it was the size for kids. Fortunately it was a leftover for my sister which she devoured later on; even after heating it up it was still tasty. The menu is typical mexican with sopes, tortas, milanesa, burritos, gorditas, and mulitas in addition to tacos and quesadillas. There's roughly 10 different types of proteins to choose from. If you can't decide, the lengua, carnitas, and asada are always pleasers. It takes about 6-8 minutes for your order but it's worth the wait. No doubt we'll be returning here again!

Befitting of this part of town, this is a family-run business succeeding since 2023 in a converted auto shop. And they're getting rave reviews! Incidentally, Tampico is the highest-rated restaurant on Highway 70 in Nashville, an odd fact I learned after driving the entire 2,372.49-mile length of eastbound 70 and dining at its best eateries. The tacos here are authentic and made to order, double wrapped in what seem to be homemade tortillas, served with pickled carrots, sliced radishes, and lime wedges just as they are in Mexico. They're topped with flavorful raw onions and finely minced cilantro (unless you opt to hold those items) and served with both salsa roja and salsa verde. There are no paper menus, but employees will patiently run through their offerings. Alternatively, you can watch the video screen gradually make its way through all the options. The carnitas tacos with tender pulled pork are beautiful perfection, a five-star dish for sure! The barbacoa tacos with slow-roasted beef are juicy and tender. And the al pastor tacos with marinated morsels of pork are reasonably tasty as well. The complimentary chips and salsa aren't as good, possibly store-bought salsa. But that doesn't overshadow those carnitas tacos!
