In town to visit family, we hunted for fresh and local on a Saturday night. We were seated surprisingly quickly - 25 min - even though live music and local vendors out back signaled a long wait. When our server Erica took our drink order and left QR codes for the menu, I quietly looked at my daughter in law and said with a grin, "I hate these. I like to hold a real menu." Although I said it quietly, our server must have caught my look because without a beat, she returned a second later with menus and said winking, "I like a real menu, too." It was subtle and intentional and set the tone for a perfect meal. I told her, "we are reading Will Guidara's Unreasonable Hospitality, and you just modeled it." She told us it's one of hers and her husband's favorite books! Our street corn nachos were delicious as well as great salsa and chips, and each of us was super happy with our taco choices. Highly recommend the brisket, featuring a horseradish cream, and the shrimp as well as the fish tacos. One small note: the flavors in my Brussels sprout taco were fantastic, but the veggies themselves were a bit tough. My tamarind margarita was SPOT ON with a perfectly generous tajin rim and dried lime slice. Food was well-timed even with a packed house. Even when the beans added on by one of our party were way too spicy for her palate, our server offered an alternative without missing a beat. Nectar Urban Cantina is a great reminder that we don't always need to chase the hot new restaurant in town. We have excellent local spots right here that deserve all of the love! I'm always looking for a place to eat in Donelson before my Wednesday bowling league, and this fit exactly what I was craving. Local, Mexican-inspired food, dedicated parking lot, easy to get in & out quickly. The parking lot was quite popping tonight, and I did have to loop through it a couple of times to find a spot even though it is pretty spacious. A place that's been open since 2017 and is still this busy on a Wednesday is a good sign. This is part coffee shop, part restaurant, so there are two different doors. I inadvertently went through the coffee shop one and they redirected me to the restaurant side, no problem at all. I was able to be seated at a table with no wait. My waitress came right over with water and a menu, and I was clear with her that I had about a half hour before I needed to leave. She quickly took my order, giving me recommendations when I asked for advice and was torn between a couple of different things. The menu is large and reasonably priced with a very wide selection of drinks. This isn't the most authentic Mexican food, but man is it tasty. Lots of fresh ingredients and so much flavor, a real crowd pleaser for dietary restrictions and picky eaters! I was torn between chips and queso and a burrito, so it was to my benefit that the chicken burrito comes with a side of chips and salsa, and paying a small upcharge to swap in queso meant I got all of the things I was craving in one order. Pinto beans, guacamole, chipotle aioli, and rice all packed in and put on the griddle so you get that nice sear. There's an option to add a cheese skirt to the burrito that I skipped this time but would absolutely come back for. The chips were thin and crispy, the queso hot and delicious, and I couldn't have asked for more at the price. The burrito is $11 on its own and with the chicken and my upcharge I came to about $19 with tax, plus tip. When the waitress brought my food she also brought my check and a box so I could take the other half to go and get everything out of the way. In and out in thirty minutes with food that was hot, fresh, and super delicious. The service here really goes the extra mile. Easy for a solo diner, easy for a group, and easy to just walk in for a quick meal. My only small gripe is that they may still be too popular for their parking lot, which should be slightly bigger. They've also got an interesting set of coffee and matcha drinks and a brunch menu I'd love to come back for. This is a hidden gem, and I hope locals keep showing up for the great places we already have instead of only chasing whatever just opened! read more

So we have come here several times for different occasions and today was the least enjoyable. For the good part of the visit: I love their outdoors area. The tent and bar area are great. They have also really step it up with the games and playing area for kids to just run around and enjoy their time while parents and adults can also enjoy their time. The food has gotten better but I'm still not impressed so I still think they're overpriced. Service: they did "try" to work it out but very poorly. My sister made a reservation for 13 people but somehow they only had one our reservation, quote "10 or 11 people" so they were not prepared either way. We only had 1 extra person showed up. They gave us one (1) picnic table for our party. Even if it was "10 or 11" of us we would have not fit in one of the picnic tables even adding the two chairs at the end, and we didn't. It's better to say they made a mistake than to blame the patrons. There were 2 open tables that could have been used but our server wasn't assigned them... the must dumb excuse on the book. I've worked in restaurants and we always made it work for the customer and the serve, mind you, they were right next to each other. Communication between managers, servers and host/hostess could have been better. Also, I don't like they make you share tables with people you don't know. I love meeting people but this isn't Monell's y'all. Get different kind of seating if you are not going to be open seating in that area. It makes it less awkward to our wallets when we are all chilling and ask, "can we seat here" knowing that you have to say "yes, sure" unless you have your people coming to save you. Overall all, having overwhelmed staff for a planned holiday that happens every years is just unpreparedness of the establishment and a sour taste to the customer. Flavor was good (a bit too sweet for my liking), yet I'm not a huge fan of premixed drinks on tap. Either way, we enjoyed our time sitting at the bar with good, friendly service from Lindsay. Met up with my friend on a Thursday to try this place out for the first time and the food was great! I won't be too harsh on the service, but that was a little off putting for me in the beginning with it being my first time there. Maybe it was just a bad day or something but when I got there, there was no hostess at the stand and I literally stood there for at least five minutes before someone acknowledged me. It was around 4:45 so it was not that busy either. I was there for so long a line formed behind me. Finally, someone came around the corner and was surprised to see all these people standing, waiting for the hostess, and someone came immediately, but there were a few servers that were waiting tables who saw all of us standing there before and didn't acknowledge us at all. (If I wasn't meeting my friend I definitely would have left.) After we were seated, the experience did improve. I started with a sweet fire Brussels and the fire part is definitely true because they were spicy, but they were good. We both wanted margaritas so we just ended up ordering a pitcher and to our surprise it was happy hour so it was $10 off. The drinks were amazing and my tacos and rice were good too. It's very family friendly (at one point it seemed like more kids than adults lol). I recommend sitting outside if you want more space and it not be as loud as indoors. The first day we were in Nashville, I had wanted to eat here, however, their parking lot was full and my belly was too empty to deal with finding a parking spot. Looking for gluten free restaurants can be challenging. I found this location through a Yelp search. It was easy to find. There's limited parking up front but more on the side lot. I've been there 4 times and only once there was only one spot available in the side lot. Seating was quick. We decided to sit outside in the covered patio. It was a picnic table setting. They did have regular seating inside. It did take about 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge us but once we did get a server he was very friendly and knew the menu very well. It's really a fun atmosphere. Plenty of room to roam for children. The menu had tons of gluten free options. We ordered the gluten free nachos with salsa, Cantina burrito bowl $11.
