Chips and salsa. Salsa has a good spice level and is delicious!
    Troy T.

Better say forst that it's cash only! I didn't see the hand written sign on the door walking in, and had to go back to pay the remainder cash that I was short. It's in a strip mall and I've never noticed it there while living in the area for 4 years. Well I've found my go-to authentic taco joint near Mt. Juliet/hermitage/Old Hickory. Finally! Haha. So the staff was very friendly and accommodating. From what I could tell it's a small family owned business. Daughters serving and momma cooking. Could be wrong but that was what I thought. Was clean inside. I'm not sure about the restrooms as I didn't use. On to the food. I ordered chips and salsa. It's not complimentary because they make their own tortilla chips....which were very good. The salsa is very good, and a decent amount of spicy (which I love). So thumbs up on the chips and salsa. My wife and I came to the conclusion that if you start with chips and salsa and they are good, that the food will be good as well. True in this case. They serve beer so i washed it down with a XX amber. I ordered 2 of each- AL pastor, and Carne asada tacos. They were the authentic smaller tacos with held together with double tortillas. Both were very good quality, flavorful tacos. So I'd recommend those for sure. If you like spicy, ask for the house made hot sauce fdom the kitchen! It's got the perfect kick if you like spicy. The server also recommended I try their avocado sauce from the kitchen as well. It was a delicious add on to the tasty tacos. So a small place with not updated interior...secret mom and pop place...as some call it, with authentic good tacos and sauces. Again remember to being cash! 5 stars for me and it will definitely be my new go-to Mexican restaurant in the area.

This place gets a definite A. The salsa was the most amazing first ever type of salsa like that I have ever tasted. All the food tasted like grandmother made them straight out of Mexico. These were real recipes. Flavors were out of this world.

Don't pass on this amazing authentic Mexican food if you are in Nashville! Great service and delicious food!

We ordered 10 chicken and steak tacos to share. Delish

This is a great spot for Mexican food! The salsa is more like a slaw it's a spicy onion and carrot melody and the chips are obviously made in house! Limes came with everything!! The tacos were great and the guacamole was plentiful and delicious! The price was good though it is cash only! Also no WiFi at all albeit on purpose as they want you to be in the moment visiting and talking with your table. I really liked this small family spot.

Authentic Mexican tacos. The flavor was delicious on each of them - we literally ordered all 10. The tacos are the traditional styled dollar tacos with only onions & cilantro. the girls attending were very nice and attentive. Will come here again for fresh original Mexican Tacos.

I'm always looking for a place to eat in Donelson before my Wednesday bowling league, and this fit exactly what I was craving. Local, Mexican-inspired food, dedicated parking lot, easy to get in & out quickly. The parking lot was quite popping tonight, and I did have to loop through it a couple of times to find a spot even though it is pretty spacious. A place that's been open since 2017 and is still this busy on a Wednesday is a good sign. This is part coffee shop, part restaurant, so there are two different doors. I inadvertently went through the coffee shop one and they redirected me to the restaurant side, no problem at all. I was able to be seated at a table with no wait. My waitress came right over with water and a menu, and I was clear with her that I had about a half hour before I needed to leave. She quickly took my order, giving me recommendations when I asked for advice and was torn between a couple of different things. The menu is large and reasonably priced with a very wide selection of drinks. This isn't the most authentic Mexican food, but man is it tasty. Lots of fresh ingredients and so much flavor, a real crowd pleaser for dietary restrictions and picky eaters! I was torn between chips and queso and a burrito, so it was to my benefit that the chicken burrito comes with a side of chips and salsa, and paying a small upcharge to swap in queso meant I got all of the things I was craving in one order. Pinto beans, guacamole, chipotle aioli, and rice all packed in and put on the griddle so you get that nice sear. There's an option to add a cheese skirt to the burrito that I skipped this time but would absolutely come back for. The chips were thin and crispy, the queso hot and delicious, and I couldn't have asked for more at the price. The burrito is $11 on its own and with the chicken and my upcharge I came to about $19 with tax, plus tip. When the waitress brought my food she also brought my check and a box so I could take the other half to go and get everything out of the way. In and out in thirty minutes with food that was hot, fresh, and super delicious. The service here really goes the extra mile. Easy for a solo diner, easy for a group, and easy to just walk in for a quick meal. My only small gripe is that they may still be too popular for their parking lot, which should be slightly bigger. They've also got an interesting set of coffee and matcha drinks and a brunch menu I'd love to come back for. This is a hidden gem, and I hope locals keep showing up for the great places we already have instead of only chasing whatever just opened!

They have also really step it up with the games and playing area for kids to just run around and enjoy their time while parents and adults can also enjoy their time. The food has gotten better but I'm still not impressed so I still think they're overpriced. Service: they did "try" to work it out but very poorly. My sister made a reservation for 13 people but somehow they only had one our reservation, quote "10 or 11 people" so they were not prepared either way. We only had 1 extra person showed up. They gave us one (1) picnic table for our party. Even if it was "10 or 11" of us we would have not fit in one of the picnic tables even adding the two chairs at the end, and we didn't. It's better to say they made a mistake than to blame the patrons. There were 2 open tables that could have been used but our server wasn't assigned them... the must dumb excuse on the book. I've worked in restaurants and we always made it work for the customer and the serve, mind you, they were right next to each other. Communication between managers, servers and host/hostess could have been better. Also, I don't like they make you share tables with people you don't know. I love meeting people but this isn't Monell's y'all. Get different kind of seating if you are not going to be open seating in that area. It makes it less awkward to our wallets when we are all chilling and ask, "can we seat here" knowing that you have to say "yes, sure" unless you have your people coming to save you. Overall all, having overwhelmed staff for a planned holiday that happens every years is just unpreparedness of the establishment and a sour taste to the customer. Please do come and try it for yourself.

Upon arriving and noticing the mexican flag mural, I had a feeling this would have the types of tacos that hit and they sure did. My brother-in law ordered a carnitas, pollo, and asada tacos. I went with the tripa and a pair of lengua tacos. We also ordered a kids chicken quesadilla for my niece. Ordering it to go, they package it quite tight with the saran wrap to avoid spillage. Appreciate the detail on that. For the authentic street tacos, this hits hard with flavor, seasoning, and grease The lenqua and crispy tripa are the kinds I find in Houston from taco trucks that bring me to my knees. My bro-in-law found the carnitas to be his favorite with the tender pork and juice; claimed these were some of the best tacos he's had. Squeeze the lime and drizzle some green salsa on those things to treat your taste buds. We also snuck in a taste of the quesadilla before feeding it to my niece. Both of us appreciated the texture of the tortilla and meltiness of the cheese with the chicken. The quesadilla is quite large; we couldn't believe it was the size for kids. Fortunately it was a leftover for my sister which she devoured later on; even after heating it up it was still tasty. The menu is typical mexican with sopes, tortas, milanesa, burritos, gorditas, and mulitas in addition to tacos and quesadillas. There's roughly 10 different types of proteins to choose from. If you can't decide, the lengua, carnitas, and asada are always pleasers. It takes about 6-8 minutes for your order but it's worth the wait. No doubt we'll be returning here again!
