Honestly, this is a hit. Tough little Mexican restaurant off the highway by the airport. I dropped my wife off for a flight early and hit up Yelp to see what was around. By the time I was done, the place was getting packed, and I can see why. I had the huevos rancheros, with an extra egg, over easy. Pork chop, which was extra. Plate came with beans and, what I like to call, "my grandma's cut"style potatoes. Not the puffy dice ones. I'm talking about the thin sliced triangular shaped potatoes that all Mexican families' grandmas would make on Saturday and Sunday mornings. You know what I'm talking about. We ordered the breakfast tacos and they really hit the spot! Very good! We tried the chorizo, potato, & egg, and the bacon, potato, & egg. Both were super good! And it comes with red and green salsa. Prices are very reasonable. Inside seating was cozy, and they also serve coffee. I'm not a morning person, but this place makes me want to be. Loved having breakfast here at 6am. We were the first ones in the parking lot and by 6:40, the parking area was full. I ordered 3 tacos, but 2 was plenty for me. Saving the 3rd for later. My bf ordered 4 and ate 3. This is a little gem that we have been meaning to try every time we took that small road and would see this small red house. We finally got up and went for breakfast. Glad we gave it a try because the food is homemade goodness! The staff is very friendly and give great suggestions. When you walk in you can seat yourself and they will come to your table and they will take your order. When you are done and have your bill you can take it to the front counter and pay on your way out. You don't wait much time considering your getting freshly made food along with the tortillas. I had the barbacoa & egg breakfast plate. Hubby had the chorimigas breakfast plate & a spicy chicharon taco. He loved all the food and said the spicy taco flavor and spice level was on point and excellent. This is our new go to for breakfast and brunch. They do close early so check the hours before you show up. They have a bathroom available as well. They have parking. The place isn't a looker but I go there for their yummy homemade meals and its been a while since we found good food with reasonable prices, so the esthetics is not a factor. Went around 5-6AM so I was the only one eating in; however, service was slow because they had a lot of to go orders coming in and out. ~$11 for 2 tacos and a drink. This is usually where I came to munch out after my VA appointments up the street. I now live close by and enjoy hitting them up more often. I love this little spot for breakfast and carne guisada tacos. It's a small spot with a few clustered tables, but the food makes up for what the ambience is lacking. I've enjoyed everything I've gotten from here and recently tried a picadillo taco that was super tasty as well. They are only open till 4pm, so make sure you hit them up early. read more

OMG! I love the soft and spicy Chicharron Plate here! Absolutely the best I have had in Austin. The salad on the plate had chopped, fresh jalapenos to also help bring up the heat. The rice and beans were both quite good. The Lady had a burrito made up with Al Pastor and then substituted some guacamole instead of rice or beans. It was a monster! The chips, fresh fried, hot, dripping grease and not the heat lamp air cooked chips that are not worth my time. These chips rock, and are served with an excellent salsa. Feed Me Seymour! This is a real hole in the wall with only a few tables, bathrooms that are not too good, (I've seen worse), Mama and family cooking, with more customers than they can handle. It is like a border joint from the early 60's with also heavy influence from Mexico City. Note the small street tacos that are offered. Open at 4AM, they are perfect for the workers in the area and the nearby construction crews. This can result in a zillion tacos order being called in for someone to take to the work crews on location. Thus, when you see them frantically working, you may experience a slowdown in service, but it is worth the wait. These are some of the friendliest people you will meet. A hard working family churning out some good eats. A little knowledge of spanish is helpful, but not necessary. Lunch rush? It is packed. I am not deducting any stars as to the lack of ambiance, not squeaky clean, etc. Reason; I am a fan of the food, not the bathrooms. I come for the food. I wish to try a few more items before stating emphatically that this is my favorite Mexican joint. I must continue testing with utmost care and frequency! Had to order seconds! This small but hardy place is a "must try' for food. Within minutes from Austin Bergstrom International Airport, it provided the perfect lunch for our arrival into Austin. My beloved ordered the steak taco. I ordered the steak, potato, cheese. Both were so nice we ordered them twice. The salsa was authentic, so naturally delish. What's not to love about this hole in the wall close to Austin-Bergstrom airport? Food: Home-cooked goodness. Freshly made tortillas, be it corn or flour, your breakfast tacos are a decent size and the options for fillings are endless. Potato and egg, bacon/potato/egg, chorizo/potato/egg, you name it, they have it. The huevos rancheros has a red sauce full of depth and a kick with the spice. Refried beans are probably made with lard, because they are creamy and delicious. Service: Find your own table and they'll bring out some menus to you. Drinks are out in good time. Food is made to order, and as much of it are breakfast tacos, it can take a bit longer than a fast food joint, but you'll appreciate it when it hits the table. Cost: The huevos rancheros is $5.99! Add sausage for another $2. You can't find anything home-cooked for this kind of price. Overall: You'll probably hit this place up on the way to or from the airport. So to Yelp you go, found this tiny place that was packed on a Saturday morning. So after a 10 minute wait, tacos finally arrive. Potato and egg was a large portion, big chunks of potato. Chorizo and egg, smaller portion but a good size. Only green sauce was provided in the to go sack, not much flavor. Corn tortillas on both were a bit hard, too chewey. I should have specified cheese on the tacos, menu on the wall said chorizo and egg, but at the bottom of the menu it said 25 cents extra for additional cheese, so I understood that to mean cheese was normally included on tacos, apparently not. Disappointing. Bottom line, if you are nearby, an ok place to visit, but dont make a special drive to get here, lots of great taco options in Austin. read more

Came here for brunch today. The staff is friendly and I can respect the fact that this is a family owned restaurant, but the food was quite a letdown to be honest. I ordered the beef burrito and my wife ordered the beef enchilada with rice and beans. The meat was dry and everything tasted bland with very little flavor. When I asked about getting carne asada with my burrito, I was told that there'd be an extra charge and would cost me a whopping $17. I'm from LA where Mexican restaurants, really GOOD ones, abound... and by LA standards, this would most likely fall near the bottom of the list. Regarding their mini ("street") tacos, the meat options are very limited. You can only choose between fajitas and carnitas (no other meats). I showed up here with a group after volunteering at the Food Bank. There isn't much in the area for lunch options and the original place we planned to go was closed. If I hadn't been told about the restaurant from someone else, I probably would have never realized it was there. The only reason I am taking away two stars are because of the wait, everything is made to order so make sure you have a minute or two to spare. They may even need to bring some extra friends to help them out. Also, my order was messed up. I ordered five mini tacos. When ordering, I asked the girl if fajita meant just beef or chicken as well. She told me I could do either, so I ordered chicken. When it came, it was beef. It took 10-15min to flag someone down to tell them, then I had to wait for it to be remade. By the time I got my meal, everyone was finished and leaving. Besides those small things, the food was excellent! The chips are made fresh and we all ooohed and awwwed over their glisten as they were put on the table. The salsa was the best I have had in a long time! Very fresh and not too spicy. My tacos were delicious and piping hot as well; the tortillas were definitely made that morning. One of the girls with me got a breakfast burrito and it was the size of her head! Read the reviews and had to try it for my self. The food was delicious. The service was great and I will definitely recommend this place to any friends that drop in. The limemade is homemade and reminds me of how my grandma makes it. The only thing that could of made this better would have been homemade tortillas. But it's understandable that when they are pumping out that amount of food for so many people and so fast if you don't have someone or a machine dedicated to just tortillas you're bound to run out quick.
