Yelp reviewed brought us here. So we were excited to try it. My kids enjoy their cheese quesadilla with rice & carne taco. I had the carne asada steak plate with beans, salad, fried cactus, rice & a side of guacamole. The carne steak was under season and tough. Guacamole taste like it came out of the tube. It was okay. Came here for lunch purely based on Yelp recommendations. The chips and salsa were great, hard to mess up. I ordered the taco with aged steak... It was so tough I literally could not bite through the steak. Glad I only ordered one. Also ordered the carne asada burrito, MASSIVE! And tasty. As big as it is, it is a simple dish of steak, shredded cheese, guacamole and sour; Small side salad. I added rice and beans, so that doctored up the burrito a bit. I used yelp reviews to decide on lunch with my daughter one day. Glad I looked! Great food, decent price. The service was a little slow, but it was lunch time, they were busy. I ordered huaraches with carne asada. It was something that I had never tried (or heard of). It was delicious! I took my husband and went back a couple of weeks later. Great food again. Ordered the same but with barbacoa instead. Carne asada was better. Definitely will return for lunch another day. read more

This is the real deal! I had three tacos: carne asade, al pastor, and lengua. The lengua was a little dry, but tasty. The server was very friendly. Took my wife and daughter here for dinner tonight. I got the chicken fajitas and she got 2 chicken tacos. The fajitas were so good and the portion size was quite large! The food overall reminded me of a place you would find in the Southwest, not Kentucky. The waitress was super nice and friendly. I'm just visiting town for a few days and I was in this neighborhood so I checked out the nearby restaurants and saw the reviews for this place and decided to try it. When I pulled up and looked in the windows I almost didn't go in. There were only a few people in there and the establishment looked a little shady to me but I decided to go in anyway. Glad I did! Service was good and pretty friendly. My soda tasted like there was cleaning chemicals in it. Maybe they didn't rinse the cup properly. I had three tacos: Carne Asada, Lengua, and Tripa. Just discovered Taqueria Ramirez about 6 weeks ago. The dishes are 100% authentic, well prepared, finely presented with attention to perfection every time! I love the Fajitas or the cheese enchilada plate. So far, I have been there about three times. Every aspect of each dish is perfect each time. The rice is hot and fluffy, guac is fresh, and the food is consistently delicious. The wait-staff is very friendly and fast. They seem very efficient with a high degree of care to their customers. As a personal preference, I wish the tortilla chips were thinner; they are thick and yellow and I prefer a thinner chip and less heavy corn. However, they are good and fresh chips and they bring them right away along with your drink. The red salsa they bring has no "kick", and seems a little bland, yet again; you can easily tell by the taste that it is definitely fresh, ask for the zestier, green salsa, which is also fresh! This business deserves 5-stars because every time I visit, the food is completely hot, fresh, and fantastic. I can't wait to go back and try something new. Additionally, the wait staff always performs with excellence. Finally, the atmosphere is reminiscent of a small, hometown restaurant in which to relax and enjoy great food, either alone or with friends and family. This place is like being in a little family restaurant in San Filipe or Ensenada. Best Mexican food in Northern Kentucky. My favorite are the Tacos Carnitas. But everything we've had is home cooked great. Service has always been great, and prices incredible. My spouse and I can stuff ourselves for $20, including XX beer. read more

Unfortunately Taqueria Ramirez on Burlington In Florence has lost me as a customer for life. My reason does not have to do with the food which has always been absolutely fantastic but rather an incident that occurred thirty minutes ago: For context I have eaten at this restaurant 5-6 times per month for the last few months. The quality of the food, the freshness of the ingredients and until tonight the excellent service have been selling points. So after coming into the restaurant and sitting at the bar as I have done EVERY TIME I have frequented this restaurant. It was busy tonight so I was ok waiting while three waitresses walked behind and around the bar. Not one of the three waitresses asked if I had been served. However when two young Hispanic men walked up to the bar they were immediately waited upon. Last I checked I did not become invisible so at that point I was irritated. However I was still cool until the waitress who took their order did not ask to take my order. Finally a young man came behind the bar. An older Hispanic man walked up to the bar and once again that person was asked a question BEFORE I was asked if I had ordered. I said no but I would like to. Then I was asked if I needed a menu and my response was "yes I do", the next thing that happened was a comment was made in Spanish, now I do not speak Spanish but I do speak people and I knew that the comment was at my expense. I then decided to leave and not place an order tonight not any other night, day, afternoon or morning. You have lost a great customer and I fully intend to share my experience with my company which routinely orders from the restaurant. Again this is unfortunate. But know I am a person who is well aware of the power of my money. read more

so... many good reviews, all are well founded. I read one review stating that as an out of towner they weren't sure if they'd ever find an authentic Mexican restaurant in the area but here they did. I can tell you that they are passionate & serve great food ( I had the pork poblanos, amazing ) and were very attentive; great salsa by the by. While I was there a woman stopped by who seemed somewhat out of place but I overheard her say she comes here regularly for the tacos (from the Ft. Thomas area) because they are the best she'd had & the drive and time was worth it! There is something special here! read more

I go to Taqueria Ramirez at least once a week. The food here is wonderfully authentic, delicious, consistent, and inexpensive. The ala carte tacos are just like the street tacos you get in Mexico and they are only $2!! I get them almost every time I come here. I've also had the enchiladas and ceviche, both were delicious. The service is good as well. I come here on my lunch break all the time and I'm in and out in about 30-45 mins with a $5-8 bill (depending on how many tacos I order). **the pastor and steak are my favorite tacos! Also try the drink called Jamaica (pronounced Har-my-ka). It's a juice-like (non-alcoholic) drink made from hibiscus flowers. It's very healthy for you and so yummy. read more

We went there for lunch. Seated right away, waitress was pretty fast and friendly. I had the chicken tortas, I can't remember what my gf had but we both agreed it was just really bland. Not much flavor at all. Even the salsa was pretty bland. Again, it wasn't bad, just nothing special. My sandwich was literally chopped chicken, shredded bagged lettuce, and avocado on bread. The place was kind of run down and not clean. Not sure where all the 5 star ratings came from but this place was pretty ordinary and not as good as most average mexican joints I've been to. I kind of lose my taste for food when the restaurant itself seems run down. There is definitely a better place that just opened up that is attached to some hotel called Magnus or something like that. I always get cabeza tacos, they're so flavorful and fatty! (In a good way) my gf normally gets tostadas and I fight her to get a bite. I don't have a Google email so I couldn't write a review on the restaurant website. I have NO complaint with the food. Very good. I made the mistake of being a white guy going in there for dinner. I was completely ignored! The manager asked every table except mine if the food was OK. Never stopped by my table. Server threw the check onto my table. First time in my life I never left a tip in a restaurant. I was the only white person in there. Mexican restaurants are never too friendly to begin with, but this is the end. No more. Having eaten at some of the finest Mexican places in Southern California, Taqueria Ramirez blew me away. Great food, great service, and very reasonable prices.
