Wanted to love this place. Service was great, very friendly, and table salsa was great, and that was the only good thing. Food was inedible and we left most of it on the plate. Lacked flavor and I could not cut into chicken enchilada, not sure how but it was rubbery. Taco shell was stale. I ended up dumping meat in beans and rice from both taco and enchilada. Still no flavor after adding lime and habenero, chicken seemed to be dry and some pieces couldn't be eaten. Ceviche had no flavor and adding lime and Valentino I could only taste the Valentino. Beans were watery and rice was ok. Gordita was crispy dark brown not pillowy and carne asada was deep fried. Maybe we came on an off day, idk. The aqua fresco was pretty good, but it was just instant mix and $3.50 a pop. I never like leaving a bad review, but this was worse than bad. I love going to this restaurant normally we get great service to go with the great food. The food was good... However, this time the service was really bad. It actually sucked not looking forward to going back again. We got fajitas for 2, I had to "Ask" for a plate, am I supposed to use the table? The waitress repeated what I said. "What? TERRIBLE SERVICE & MANAGEMENT! Save yourself the headache and go literally anywhere else! We went in today for my husbands birthday! We had a party of 8 and the restaurant was COMPLETELY empty except our table and our service was surprisingly terrible given the restaurant was as empty. When they brought our food everyone's came out except mine no biggie, the waitress said it would come out soon. So we asked for tortillas for the fajitas that had come. We had to ask 3 more times for tortillas. Our entire party completely finished and the waitress has started clearing plates but my food still hasn't come. We kept asking and she said "it just takes longer" mind you I ordered a taco salad, so it probably should have been the fastest thing to make. After the table was cleared and my brother goes to say something again about my food it finally comes. The way the handled it though was even more offensive. No apologies, no manger that came to check on it, in fact the manager proceeded to argue with my dad about it after my dad went to seek him out, making the situation even worse. A shame because the food is decent here, however in Cleburne where Mexican restaurants can be found on literally every corner, save yourself the headache and terrible service and go literally anywhere else. We were hopeful for some decent breakfast tacos but what we learned from this trip to Cleburne was that you can't find good tortillas ANYWHERE in this city. We came for the weekend to attend Savage Race and last night had dinner at another Mexican place. Decided on tacos before we drive back to San Antonio today. The place itself is cute inside and I'm not tripping over the strange setup because they have done the best they can with the space they have. The chips and salsa are overflowing but none of it is homemade. I read other reviews that said this was the best salsa in Cleburne?? It's salsa from a jar likely purchased at HEB! I ordered the chorizo and egg plate; 2 eggs, chorizo, beans with cheese and potatoes. The chorizo and eggs were overcooked or old, as if they'd been made earlier that morning and simply reheated. The potatoes were bland and the peel was left on them but tasted as if they hadn't been properly rinsed before cutting and cooking. The beans are from a can and the tortillas were store bought, thin and white as paper. I then ordered some corn tortillas hoping for a miracle but nope, another set of store bought, barely cooked tortillas. I ended up eating some of the canned beans on the store bought chips like some nachos so I'd have something in my belly for the drive back home. One star for the coffee, which had a hint of Mexican chocolate. Now that I think about it I hope that was deliberate. The bill was only $20 (average for 2 breakfast plates) and we left the waitress a decent tip because it's not her fault the food sucks. read more

I'm only giving 4 stars because I love their sweet tea, street tacos and prices! I love eating here because of the food. The serves stinks and the waitresses have bad attitudes. I only go because of the food and great prices. The service is slow, take a while to get your order and bring you more chips or get a refill. I have no problem on the chefs side though! I wish I could give the servers tip to the chef instead. read more

I don't really like to talk bad about places but, this place was horrible. it's my first time being here and one of many problems that I noticed was a smell from outside. Also the food had no flavor and the salsa was the worst I've ever had. I'm sorry, but it true. The service was not what I expected from a place like that and she did not look old enough to even take an order or to serve alcohol. The margaritas were watered down Exedra Exedra. This place always has great food. We have eaten here a few times and always love it. Usually we are there for lunch, but we decided to check it out for dinner. We have been temporarily out of the area and really miss good Mexican food. The most recent visit was a disappointment for us only because of the terrible service. It was not very crowded, only four or five tables, but the waitress pretty much ignored us. And even though she asked if we wanted more chips, and we did, she never brought them, even though you could see that she was pretty attentive to a couple other tables. We don't know what the problem was, but it made our otherwise great dinner a little less enjoyable. read more

Well let me be honest, the "Free Margaritas" was the initial reason I gave this place a stop. I grew up in California and never gave a thought that Mexican style food can differ. Where I am from Carne Asada is a big favor so much to my surprise many places outside California don't have this option on the menu. In Texas "fajita" meat is the closest to "carne asada" as it gets. Anyway, I am a simple person so my favorite go to item at any Mexican restaurant are the tacos, which at this place are so delicious. The decor in the place is dated as is the exterior but I didn't stop in to eat the establishment so the look of a restaurant is never an issue to me (unless it's outright dirty and disgusting). The rice and beans are awesome and the staff is very prompt with service. This was definitely a must stop when I had family visiting and they too agreed that this place can appease any craving for California style Mexican food. read more
