Has a pretty big menu for a place like this that doesn't have much room inside. The prices are way too high for most things and the portions aren't that big for these. Has many of the classic favorites. It of course has burritos, tacos, and more. They have lots of choices for vegetarians. It unfortunately is way too expensive. They charge a fortune on most things. I got a Vegan Burrito Bowl for carryout. It's $14 for vegetables in a styrofoam container. This includes avocados, lettuce, and tomatoes. Good tasting and this item actually has quite a lot for the portion unlike many others here. The price is still too high considering it doesn't have any meat. High prices are what keeps me from here. Don't be fooled by the name - This is some of the best Mexican you'll get in the burbs. I'm always up for trying a new Mexican place and this was one of those few times that it paid off. After a few trips to this place I have yet to be disappointed. I can vouch for the pastor tacos with cilantro & onion (make sure you order it this way), the flautas, tamales, and tortas. Burritos aren't my thing but based on the quality of food I can't imagine they'll disappoint. From what I've seen this place is "mystery meat" free, which is all too common is most taco joints. If you're looking for authentic Mexican then El Burrito Habanero is a must try. This place will quickly become a new favorite in town. This was a gem of a find when I moved to Lockport! Was recommended to me by someone that's lived here so I gave it a try! Very small dining area. The food is great. I've tried burritos, tacos, quesadillas, and pazole and enjoyed all of them. Food was good; however I am having issue with the establishments inability to post correct pricing. Upon verbal inquiry of the menu and food "board" above the ordering area conflicting, I was given a blank stare. The updated price ($2.69) on the tacos was written in on a piece of masking tape over the previous price which was $1 something. Rather than argue I paid and went on my way with the food. The next morning after viewing the itemized receipt I noted I was charged .30 extra per taco for cheese, yes- cheese. I also noted the price per taco was .29 more than what I had thought. ($2.40 on take out menu). While this may sound trivial, what was the (in the literal sense) 3rd strike was the $1.57 "Svc Fee". I assume this was due to me using a credit card to pay but I find it unacceptable that a business would charge that without disclosing it. My boyfriend and I were out hunting for a place to have lunch so we stopped here. I ordered a pork taco, and my boyfriend a steak taco. The tacos were $2, not the $1 they show outside. I learned that the $1 taco you have to ask for, and it's smaller than the regular taco?? Well I didn't really think this $2 taco was that big so I would hate to see the size of the small taco?! The tacos were just average. They reminded me of a taco that a non-Mexican person would cook. It tasted like they used a store bought premixed taco seasoning like McCormick's or Goya. Food is okay at best. Not really happy with the price for what you get. The prices keep changing and getting more expensive and the food quality is going down. The staff is friendly depending on who is there working. Some don't speak other than taking a counter order. The guacamole is okay the hot and mild sauce needs more flavor and it's not that hot at all. They also now charge a service fee on all credit card purchases. Or at least I was charged. Excellent. Steak burrito- so good. They put avocado in their burrito without an up-charge! The steak is of good quality, barley any gristle you need to spit out. They make the best spicy carrots, peppers and cauliflower. And I love their horchata. Not too long ago I was staying a few blocks away from here and I was making dinner and realized I forgot to buy cilantro while I was at the grocery store. We got Chorizo tacos and burritos. The burritos were great and even had chunks of avocado in them which is a nice plus. All the food was cooked fresh and was nice and hot. The service was great too. I've lived pretty much my entire life in Southern California and have eaten more Mexican food than any other type of cuisine--the bad, the really bad, and the good. The authentic and the inauthentic. The not authentic but tasty. The good authentic vs. the not so great. Have eaten excellent home cooked meals and BBQ from friends who have cooked most of their meals in Mexico. So I'd like to think I know good authentic Mexican food? Well this is it. We were seated and then given complementary chips and salsa. Staff was attentive. Ordered one of the best, if not the best, tortas I've had. Love the way they buttered and toasted the outside of the bolillo--anything would have tasted good on that bread, but the steak, beans, guacamole, tomatoes etc. they loaded it with wasn't just anything. We shared our food, so I also got to try their steak and potato burrito. Delicious and HUGE! Great value! Was just passing through, but It's obvious that Lockport is lucky to have this place. Favorite Mexican food anywhere around. I like to eat here at least once a week and try for two but that's not always possible for financial reasons. Not that it's expensive, it's not in the slightest, I just don't make much and can't afford eat out every night, but when I do, most the time it is this place. First time trying this place and i ordered the chicken fajitas spicy and it did have a good kick. Seemed to be standard fillings and i opted for the flour tortillas. Total thieves here! See the attached photos for a review that was posted on Facebook and then deleted by el burrito haba-scam-o. Long story kind of short...ordered 2 burritos 6 tacos 1 side of beans. Received 2 burritos 4 tacos 1 side of beans. Was charged for 1 burrito bowl 2 1/2 liters of coke (for $8.50!?) FOUR burritos 4 tacos queso and rice. Our bill should have been around $30 we were charged $48. Called and asked what happened the woman was rude defensive and couldn't care less about ripping us off. After unsuccessfully trying to resolve this privately I took it to their Facebook page where someone replied instantly....and defensively...even posted a photo of the receipt that showed how they completely overcharged us. Went back to show someone the conversation and el burrito haba-scam-o deleted the entire thread. A fair review of the food: tacos were good and both steak burritos were primarily beans with chew and spit steak. Then I saw the picture of the mans fingernail against the receipt and became sick to my stomach WASH YOUR HANDS! Steer clear of this place. At first when I went to this place I was very excited because their nachos were the best ever. But we also got the flautas and they put lettuce, tomato, sour cream & cheese on top and it made the flautas extremely soggy. Which makes sense, lettuce and tomato are usually wet. Each time we went there the people that worked there were completely rude to us. I thought maybe they were having a bad day. But nope, they were nice to each other just extremely rude to us. This awesome little place is right near the Metra train stop in Lockport. When I try new Mexican joints, I like to order a couple of things to determine the quality. First was their chile relleno burrito and it was DELICIOUS! It wasn't greasy and the poblano pepper was soft and had just the right amount of cheese. The second thing was the guacamole and chips which tasted fresh and had nice flavor. I also ordered a veggie taco (beans, rice, lettuce, tomato and avocados) and a steak taco which were both very good and fresh tasting. I really enjoyed everything I ate and so did my husband.
