I had tried the Discovery Bay location and had never tried the Brentwood location until recently. It is both a walkup order and sit down restaurant. They were slammed on Tuesday but the service was very good, food was delicious and the atmosphere was lively. We will definitely be back and soon. read more

Yaqui's Limon is a wonderful Mexican restaurant that serves very good Mexican cuisine. We' have been here for breakfast and dinner. The home made salsa and chips are delicious. For me, the salsa is heavier on the heat than other salsas I've had at other Mexican restaurants. I ordered the shrimp quesadillas. If you order the full version, you will get rice, guacamole, and refried beans mixed in. The shrimp was cooked to perfection. It was not hard or dry. It was very tender. A very good selection. The flautas were very delicious. The shell was lightly crisp, and the pork filling was very flavorful. The service was prompt, and our server was attentive and helpful. The decor is classically Hispanic. Overall, we enjoyed our experience at Taquiza Limon. I would recommend giving this restaurant a visit. read more

My family moved up here from New Mexico in the 60s and opened a successful restaurant until my grandpa closed it down in 89 due to his personal reasons. When you grow up in a successful restaurant where John madden would go to as well as Tex Beneke, you are pretty critical of Mexican restaurants. After moving to Brentwood I have been struggling with finding restaurants that I really enjoy. The food here is fantastic and the environment is cozy as expected when you go to a Mexican restaurant. The staff were kind and inviting and they kept a clean restaurant. This is definitely on the list of places to go for good food and service. read more

Great service. Stopped for a to go order because I was working in the area and they open earlier than a lot of the other nearby lunch places. I was greeted warmly and efficiently. Went with my white boy guilty pleasure of the crispy tacos with ground beef and they were fantastic. Had the hot salsa which was more like a sauce and it had perfect heat and a great flavor. We're happy this place is back after being closed for a long time due to a fire. We visited them when they were mainly doing a food truck in their parking lot and the food was still great. Their tortilla soup is amazing and has a unique creaminess to it. Make sure to place your Christmas tamale orders here too. We especially like the queso/pablano tamales. This is a nice place. Staff is friendly and you can tell they take pride in the food and service. There are a good amount of tables and they are aesthetics are authentic to the cuisine, a good ambience. Unfortunately not a lot of pictures since everything was so amazing. We got a grilled chicken quesadilla to share which was phenomenal. So flavorful and not too much cheese. I ordered green chicken enchiladas and it was delicious. My sister got an asada burrito and added an egg and said it was the best burrito she's ever had. My brother got a huge wet burrito with green sauce that he loved and ate every bite. Salsa was delicious and flavorful. We finished the meal with the churro cheesecake, which is life changing. Ordered the Menudo. I realize menudo is not favored by all and it does not sell often, there lies the issue. If it's not fresh they should not serve it. The menudo was previously frozen, placed in a very large bowl, for a menudo without hominy the meat was very sparse (old). The hand made corn tortillas were good, but overall the meal was left unfinished. I continue with my search for the best menudo. read more

My first experience with Taquiza Limon was catering to the office for lunch. Unfortunately, the crispness of a crispy taco suffers when it's sitting in a styrofoam box for who knows how long, so it was kind of a flop (literally)! The girls who know them from their OG location in Oakley said this was not the same quality of food they usually enjoyed there. We decided to give it another try and venture out during lunch. We're on a strict time crunch, so I let our server know we had to be back by 1:00pm. She said, "I will let the kitchen know"! I got the carne asada quesadilla suiza and thought it was solid. Good portions of meat, cheese, and all the fixins'. It was grilled to perfection. Complimentary chips and salsa too! So the lesson of the day: best eaten fresh in the restaurant. I think we found our local go-to taco place in Brentwood! Stopped by Taquiza Lemon shortly before closing one night for take out. The owner greeted us warmly and was patient as we pursued the menu. I got two vegan tacos that were piled high with grilled veggies, avocado and beans. Really filling and very tasty. My boyfriend got crispy chicken tacos and was happy with his choice. The complimentary chips and salsa were a cut above the usual sides you get at other spots and were a nice touch that they came with the meal, even with to go orders. Everything was well packed to take home. While we waited for our food, I took in the fun decor and noticed a steady stream of take out orders coming in and many repeat customers the staff knows well. It's located in unassuming shopping plaza but is quite charming on the inside with great food. I hope to be back and try dining in next time!w read more

I saw I was near a Mexican spot and I'm always in the mood for some street tacos. They happened to have some on the menu and the take out order was only 5-10 mins so I ordered a couple steak tacos Togo. They were really tasty and good for street tacos only $2.50 each with was very good on the price and even tasted better in my stomach. My daughter had a vegetarian burrito which she really enjoyed. My husband has street tacos which he liked especially the barbacoa. My mom has a cheese tamale which she really enjoy. We ordered a michelada. The flavor was great but it was served in a clay type pot with a big lip which kinda turned me off and was hard to drink from. I think the experience would have been better if the fajita came on a slizzling metal plate and the michelada in a glass or something easier to handle and drink from. I knew we had to wait but it was nearly 30 minutes later. If I had known that; I would have called ahead or left and came back. 30 min later there's a line out the door. We LOVE this place! We eat here 2-3x a month!! The 3 crispy taco plate is the absolute best! They also have specials that are amazing! They had steak tacos with huge slices of steak and guac!
