Lucky for me and the 50 of us that attended, we found Chef Jack and his team. We were all incredibly impresed at the professionalism, service and the taste/presentation of the food. The service was spot on and the food was even better. We chose the following menu items: - Cheese board with artisanal cheeses, cured meets, fruits, nuts, olives. - Baguette crostinis and dips (fire roasted pepper romesco, spinach artichoke and clue cheese and carmelized shallots) - Beef sliders with peppers, cheese, pickle aoli (much larger than average beef patty that was tender, juicy and loaded with flavor and served on soft slider buns) - Cali tartar - ahi, avocado cream on taro root chips (This is a must have item in my opinion and it was a perfect combination of flavors and textures.) - Bacon wrapped dates stuffed with feta and topped with a fig drizzle (you can never go wrong with bacon but these were some of the best I've had) - Pigs in a blanket (sweet sausage, dijon pancake and maple glaze) - Warm brie canape, green apple jam, fresh apple and honey glaze - Crostini with buffalo mazzarella and tomato jam - Fire roasted corn soup "shooters" We had set up a cheese board station and the dips/crostinis station but the rest of the items were all tray passed. The service was spot on the entire evening. The presentation of the food being served was beautiful (the pictures of their food is what got me interested in Cool Cat to start). Sometimes you have food that looks better then it tastes and to me that's always a big let down. On this occasion the beautiful presentation of each food item matched the taste and flavor in each item we were served. Cool Cat also provided a bartender and they even came up with two custom cocktails to match our "Casino" party theme (an M16 Martini - vodka, pomegranate and grapefruit and a Gold Finger Mojito - muddled orange, fresh mint, champagne). I've used a few different caterers over the years here in San Diego and hands down these guys were the best I've used so I would highly recommend Cool Cat.

He worked with us to find the ideal food for the best price. And let me tell you. The stuff he made was delicious. Literally every item he made was a hit amongst our friends and family. It was an after wedding Brunch for people that had to fly back home thatday.. Menu agreed upon by Sabrina and myself. The contract said it would start at 11:00 and end at 3:30. Sabrina said she and her crew would be there at 6:00 AM to prep all the foods being served BUFFET style which we agreed upon. Well, Sabrina's​ help showed up at 6:00 m but no Sabrina , No Food and no Phone call. Panic​ set in . I figured I better get in touch with a local restaurant fast. The Door Bell rang at 10:15. Low and behold Sabrina and the food showed. She said her sous chef didn't​ show. She proceeded to bring in all her food supplies along with the arriving guests. Well, food was not served by buffet style at all. She passed around fruit with toothpicks​?? at 1:00 1:30 she passed the bagels, cream cheese and Lox. Not Buffet style. 2:30 cups of Lobster bisque were handed out to the guests. By 3:00 people had to leave for their flights 10 guests left. Hungry no doubt.​ By 3:30 she passed out plated salads with her choice of dressing on it. It was supposed​ to be buffet salad with choice of two dressing according​ to contract. Now at 3:30 she served the guests plated, not buffet style as contracted, grilled shrimp with Chicken with Mango salsa. Each guest was served separately​ . Therefore 8 people ate while the other 8 waited for their meal to be cooked and served. No one ate together.​ It was a nightmare and an ​embarrassment. Gig Salad denied any responsibility for their recommendation. They said they suggested this caterer and it was up to me to check out her reviews??? I thought that's​ what I hired Gig Salad for. To recommend people that they screened and suggested. Nope,​ It doesn't​ work like that. They throw out names,​ you choose and do your own research. Well four days after the nightmare affair I get a second corrected Contract by Sabrina stating the affair was to start at 3:00 to 7:00 to cover her self for the screwup​. I said I would not sign it because I already signed the original true contract for 11:00 to 3:30 and I was not born yesterday. If that were the case...What were her people doing at my house at 6:00 Am empty handed asking me where Sabrina was.

I had no idea what to expect but I was completely blown away by how incredible everything was. We were welcomed with a cocktail as soon as we arrived and were seated at the outside table under a canopy that had a beautiful crystal chandelier. As I sat down, I noticed that the menu in front of me was personalized with my name. I mean how awesome is that? This was not really a dinner but a 5 course culinary experience that made you feel like you were whisked away to France. Each course was paired with a glass of wine, red or white depending on the course. I have to say I am not a big fan of White Wine, but the wine that was served was delicious to say the least. I am also a very fussy eater, but I have to say that there was not one item that I did not like. I still dream of the Goat Cheese Honey Macaron that was served as an Amuse Bouche, and my mouth waters every time I think about it. Service was top notch and each course had its special French wine pairing. We started with a Muscat de Saint-Jean de Minervois, beautiful sweetness, then discovered a refreshing and surprising Terra Santa White from Corsica, and the rarely encountered, but delicious organic red Pays d'Oc was excellent. Jessica did a wonderful job curating a menu of fantastic flavors and textures and selecting the wine that perfectly matched each course. The fig foie gras crème brûlée was super tasty and let's talk about the Parmentier Duck confit, such a treat!
