If I have to be honest, I'm not into Italian as much. Not my go to when eating out. I had the duck pasta, some lamb skewers, and like this cheese ball salad thing on a sweet potato mash of some sort. NGL, all were ok. Didn't blow me out of the water but then again like I said I'm not into Italian as much. The inside gave a bar vibe and it was kinda dark in there. Made it hard to read the menu . Service. Top tier. Everyone was friendly, inviting and accommodating. If you like pasta then the duck one is the one I can recommend as well as the gnocchi which is what my friend had. The duck was tender to chew and swallow. Very tomato based sauce in a long noodle that I thought was for lasagna. Again I want to reiterate I don't know pasta like that. For what it is, it's ok. Definitely come for vibes, a good location, and pasta. If you're like me and want good bang for buck this might not be it chief. But I'm happier with this than other expensive restaurants in Manhattan. read more

I was originally going to order in, but decided to stretch my legs and enjoy a solo dinner out--and I'm so glad I did! The food hit the spot, and the service was genuinely warm and attentive. While I can't say if it's the best pasta in the city, it was absolutely satisfying and exactly what I needed. I'll definitely be back on future work trips. Stopped by here for happy hour, stayed for dinner. Great HH with food and drink specials. Bar aesthetic is just okay but the restaurant is charming and the service is great. The pasta was a standout! I got the rigatoni short rib ragu-- the bartender said they cook it over 6 hours. It was so incredibly rich and flavorful with a lovely presentation. Highly recommend! Great spot for happy hour! I believe you only can order the happy hour menu at the bar or outside, but it goes from 5-7pm. The interior is nicely decorated and the staff is attentive. Our waitress was great, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, and the food and drinks came out quickly. We ordered off the happy hour menu and tried the focaccia which was incredible, burrata pinsa (flatbread), caprese pinsa, polpettine (3 come in an order), arancini (4 per order), shishito peppers, bruschetta (2 per order) and lamb skewers. Everything was tasty and I would eat it again, though the arancini didn't have much flavor to me. The focaccia was the best, followed by the lamb skewers. I also really enjoyed the bruschetta and shishito peppers. The food was high quality and everyone enjoyed it. Great value both food and drink wise. read more

The vibe was relatively quiet for a Saturday evening. Maybe because of the location. But I loved the quietness. The waitress was helpful with recommending a cocktail (TI VOGLIO TANTO BENE). Throughout the meal she was attentive, my cup of sparkling water always got refilled for me before I was able to. She was attentive/checked on me just enough that it wasn't annoyingly suffocating. It was nice that the server collected my plates and utensils after my appetizer. Usually doesn't happen too much if it isn't a fine dining restaurant. However, the food was a bit disappointing for the price point. The batter for my appetizer was a bit thick and crunchy like cheetos (thank goodness for the sauce to soften them up). It tasted like old oil was used to fry up the dish. At least the zucchini wasn't so crunchy. The arrabbiata sauce was good but the herb aioli did not have any herb taste or any garlic taste to it. My octopus entrée had only one and a very short tentacle. At least it was seasoned and tender. The salad that came with the octopus was overpowered with slivers of castelvetrano olives. I also got 2 veggie sides because I didn't have a satisfying/filling entrée. The chopped broccoli rabe and asparagus sides were $12 each. I was expecting a bigger portion for that price point. It was more of a $5-8 portion. The asparagus was too salty and leaning towards overcooked. The broccoli rabe was nice and garlicky, it was tasty and no bitter after taste. The baba sbagliato was the best dish I had the whole night. read more

Tarallucci e Vino is a wonderful spot with a great extended happy hour menu! We sat outside on a nice patio with umbrellas. Happy hour runs from 4-7 and includes select drinks, pizzas, and snacks. We were excited to order the wild mushroom arancini and the shishitos to start. Service was quick and water refills were done very frequently. For our mains we got the cacio e Pepe spaghetti and the spaghetti with pomodoro. Both were very delicious and large portions. We couldn't even finish them. Highly recommend for an after work hang out! We were not rushed at all. read more

One of the best experiences at an Italian restaurant in NoMad. Thanks to Martina's amazing service, kind nature and hospitality, she made my friend and I feel "right at home," and like I was back in Italy due to her warm nature. The dishes she suggested and of course the wine were way worth it, meaning the extra few bucks on an amazing wine transformed my experience. Wine brings people together, as did my experience at this restaurant. I am a wine professional and the way she elegantly described each wine made me feel confident in her choices of what to pair our food with. If you happen to go to the restaurant, especially the Upper East Side as I was told she is usually there.... ask for Martina to be your server, you wont regret it!! This restaurant is one of our local favorites. Highly recommend the Caesar salad, octopus, pinsas and lamb skewers for starters. Pastas also great-especially the orcchiette with sausage and broccoli rape. For entrees the chicken milanese is outstanding. The salmon or branzino are healthy and tasty fish options. Made a reservation here on a Friday night for 7:15 and it was dead so we definitely didn't need one. Service was attentive, with a chill upscale atmosphere. To start we got the Caesar which was perfectly seasoned and dressed, and I would definitely get that again. The buratta was okay, I expected it to be a bit more flavorful but it honestly needed some salt. My partner got the gnocchi special which came in a white sauce with lamb and beef. He really liked the sauce and found it super flavorful, the gnocchi itself was perfectly cooked but lacking proper flavor so it made the dish a little bland. I got the pomodoro because I was craving something classic, it was good but I would have liked a little more sauce, and for the pasta to be a little less al dente (it definitely had more than just a slight bite to it). It also seemed like quite a small portion of pasta. Prices ranged in reasonable (gnocchi) to overpriced (pomodoro). Overall It was good, I probably wouldn't specifically seek out this restaurant for the food, but would not be upset to go back if someone else wanted to. read more

Love, love, love the chicken mildness! We come here frequently for this amazing dish. The chicken is pounded out perfectly and is fried to crispy perfection. It is topped with an arugula fennel salad that compliments the dish. It's so good that sometimes we get the dish, bring it home and use the chicken for chicken parm! Who knew that behind the quaint terrace outdoor tables and the beautiful you shaped bar, there lay a charming indoor restaurant with amazing food and delicious wine. The only thing missing was music. The drinks are great, the food was good as well but not the greatest. Lamb was delicious, I ordered medium and was brought rare which I didn't like but I could still tell it was flavourful though I could barely eat it. Everyone else seemed to be okay with their food. Everything about this place was awesome. All of the food was great, but I sincerely had the best pasta of my life. I had the Cacio E Pepe as my main dish--incredibly delicious. The appetizers, coffees, wine, and desserts were all top notch as well. Our waitress--Paloma--was incredibly kind and on top of things as well, we really appreciated her. Went for a date night dinner...either these must be fake reviews or this is a very "bridge and tunnel" crowd who has very low standards. The place was a joke, the food was terrible, ambience was like that of a not-so-popular club in south beach circa 2003. There was a DJ who played "YMCA" and "Barbie girl"and at one point a conga line of bar patrons paraded through the dining room. I honestly should have looked at more reviews before booking a reservation here (they had a ton of availability which should have been a red flag) but by the time we arrived we were starving and in a time crunch, so chose to stay and give it a shot. Another bit of perspective, I've lived in NYC for 13 years (uptown Manhattan so definitely not expecting to stumble upon the most cutting edge restaurants more downtown) and this is probably the new high water mark for worst date night dinner. I discovered this place looking for shelter from a snowstorm one night, and have gone back many times. The ambience is very nice and chill, I love sitting near the bar on the small tables. Another thing I like is that it's not too loud even when it's packed, which is a good detail on their part. Their sbagliato is one of the best I've ever had, but that was thanks to their bartender whom I haven't seen in a while. I had dinner there a few times and it's quite tasty and satisfying. I live in the neighborhood but admit I don't know as much about the spots west of Park Ave. My friend was coming from UWS and then to Jersey, so figured Taralluci E Vino was a good central spot to meet between the 6 and R/W trains. The atmosphere was bright and lively and a little more upscale than the spots along 3rd Ave. I was craving pasta, but the happy hour deals looked good, so we stuck to those. Found two spots at the corner of the bar and got the house red wine, along with margherita pizza, arancini (rice balls), and shishito peppers. All were good and filling. Wine was decent. Bartender was attentive. Bar area thinned out after happy hour was over, but the place seemed pretty active. Next time I'd come back for dinner! read more

Fantastic service at Tarallucci in NoMad! The servers and hosts were all attentive and friendly. The space is great too, with lots of room indoors and covered seating out front. The food was good! The duck was tender, and had a great, tangy vinaigrette that went well with the entire dish, including the roasted veggies. The burrata starter was also excellent, served on a bed of butternut squash. The gnocchi wasn't a highlight - it was a little too mushy, and fell apart quickly in my mouth. Plus the tiramisu dessert was good, but not great. All in all, a nice dining experience with fantastic service! But some dishes aren't as much of a standout. read more

Very solid 'late night' Italian food in Murray Hill, don't get me wrong! I came here late on a Friday night with my boyfriend and ordered a 'Cacio e Pepe' like dish and my god that dish was NOTHING BUT SALT. I don't know who is reading these reviews right now from the restaurant but if you read me - TELL YOUR CHEF TO COOL IT ON THE SALT. The dish looked like it was prepared very well, it is unfortunate that it was ruined with all that salt. My boyfriend's dish was a more heartier dish, and all I have to say is that he won lol. Made a reservation the night before for Sunday dinner and boy was I happy I found this place! My friend and her husband were craving Italian food and the food at Tarallucci E Vino hit the spot!! For starters we ordered their Polipo or charred octopus which was cooked to perfection - it wasn't over cooked and really chewy but tender and flavorful. We ordered their special of the day which was pasta with calamari and clams, prosciutto pizza with added burrata on top, as well as their orecchiette. The pasta for both dishes were cooked perfectly al dente and were oh so flavorful!! Perfect portion sizes for the price paid. Our favorite was their prosciutto pizza - fresh baked crust with the perfect amount of prosciutto and burrata in every bite. It was so good we ended up ordering a second one for the table! For dessert, we ordered their tiramisu and chocolate mousse cake - both were good but really standard desserts. Overall, a fantastic dining experience with perfect service! This was the perfect last meal for us before indoor dining was suspended again in NYC. I can't wait to come back as they also offer outdoor dining! read more

I'd say the service was "on ice", but even that's giving them too much credit - my friend's lasagna actually was. My wife's pasta was the culinary equivalent of a silent movie - visually present, but struggling to hear any sense of flavor. The meat and cheese board was the high point, and let's face it, it's hard to mess up cutting cheese. For over $350, I would expected a delicious feast, not an awful snooze fest (with the waiter playing hide & seek!). Judging from the positive reviews here, maybe our experience was a fluke, but one thing's for sure - my frozen pizza at home will seem like haute cuisine after this. read more
