Gelato

Ulivo had been on my list of Italian restaurants that make their pasta in house. Since I was going to be in the Nomad area where the restaurant is located, I reserved a table for dinner. Walking into the restaurant, you notice the beautiful dining area, simply decorated only with lights lining the green walls and the wooden ceiling that was preserved from an earlier time. We felt like we were in the dining room of an old farmhouse in Italy. We were greeted by the host and walked to a very comfortable corner table, the waiter was very nice. We started with a simple salad, lettuce, fennel and tomatoes lightly tossed in a mild olive oil and the calamari, sweet and moist in a light batter served with house made mayonnaise sauce. For the pasta, had the tagliatelle with an oxtail ragu. A very light crushed tomato sauce with bits of oxtail meat. The tagliatelle though served al dente was soft and velvety. The other pasta dish was ricotta filled ravioli. For dessert had chocolate and hazelnut gelato.

Came in for a quick dinner before going out to pride. I feel like the inside of this place is nice and super charming. Our server was cool, but she did mess up my wine order, even though place was a bit empty and took a while to fix it. I opted for the tuna pasta. The pasta itself was delicious, but the tuna was EXTREMELY fishy. Like something that came out of a can. Would not recommend. We also tried the ravioli which was tasty and a way safer option. Overall, feel like there are better Italian places around and would not recommend.

Our menu this evening is not a reflection of whats currently on the menu. We had a special curated dinner with a special menu from the chef. First off - every dish was exceptional! Bursting with flavor and the presentation was beautiful. The wine pairings were amazing perfect as well. The establishment is a nice vibe- energy in house was great, each table was nearly filled so reservations are recommended. I love the open kitchen where we can see what's going on. You can clearly tell the kitchen staff takes extra care for each dish. The staff was very lovely and friendly and we especially liked the quick visit from the chef. Highly recommend!

Fettucine ai funghi

I got the Funghi fettuccine and the flavor was okay, did have to add some spice and pepper to get more of a flavor. I also got the pizza, the pie was thin and crispy and not too oily.

Mafaldine Pasta with Pistachio Pesto

Very nice and not too fancy. Food was excellent. We had the Mafaldine Pasta with pistachio pesto (it must be popular because the tables on both sides of us had it as well), and the Calamari. The pasta was slightly Al Dente--so perfect--with just the right amount of pesto. The calamari was perfectly fried and delicious without any sauce! Paired with a nice by-the-glass Vermentino, it was an outstanding meal. The staff was a bit harried due to a large party coming in, but they handled it well.

Food (1 of 2 stars): I ordered the cannelloni for a main and it was really good! I wish there was a bit more, volume wise, but for the amount you do get in the dish, it was packed with flavor! Forgot to mention, but we got the zucchini appetizer and were pleasantly surprised by that! Service (2 of 2 stars): Multiple servers/employees came up to us and kept checking in on us and getting us water. They were all super helpful and I never had a moment where I felt like I was looking for a waiter when my table needed something. Our server was also helpful giving us recommendations when ordering. Food came out quick and courses had a good cadence between each! Ambiance (1 of 1 star): I really like the ambiance of the restaurant; it wasn't too dark or too loud which are things I don't like from other restaurants. I'd definitely come back here. There's lots of other things on the menu that I would like to try!

Came in on a Thursday evening around 5 and it was pretty quiet. Oxtail pappardelle was solid; very filling and hearty. It fulfilled my pasta craving for sure. Tiramisu was yum. Service was excellent.

Salmon - special

This was my second time here. The first time I had the oxtail pasta a did not really enjoy it that much. This time I came back and shared their three specials - all oh which were delicious and should be on their permanent menu. One was a ravioli with heirloom tomatoes and truffle. The second was a pork shoulder ragu - my fave. The third was a grilled salmon on top of a bed of sautéed spinach and puréed zucchini.

Came here for Friday night dinner with a friend, such a cute romantic spot. The host was super welcoming and everyone was just so nice. The gnocchi was so soft and pillowy and the sauce was so rich. The martini was perfect, great ratio of vodka and brine and the perfect amount of olives. Def recommend for date night!

Came in by myself 45 minutes before closing, I asked if they could seat me or if they were gonna close soon and the guy reassured me that it was fine. I wasn't expecting bread service so that was a nice surprise while I waited for my food and drink (which I didn't have to wait for long at all!) -- Loved the attentiveness of the guy refilling my water and the rest of the staff were very kind as well! As far as the decor/ambiance, I love low lighting and this place was very cozy feeling and super clean, I loved it and will be back.

Food 7/10 An underrated gem located in NoMad with homemade pastas and refreshing drinks. I ordered the spicy sausage pasta, which was just okay, but my friend's vongole was delicious. Massive portions, but I couldn't finish and didn't particularly want to finish it, even as leftovers. The mezcal cocktail was pretty good though. Atmosphere 8/10 Very dark inside, and also quite loud. Bustling with activity. Tables were spread a good distance apart from each other. Cute bathroom. Service 8/10 Solid service, nothing wrong.

Everything about this restaurant is perfection. Stefano is the best waiter I've had in NYC and everything he recommended was brillant.

It was my first time there but I was expecting the menu I saw online, not this new one. We tried 2 drinks: one inspired by Turkish figs and one inspired by lemons and the "Miracle Berry", which inverts your palate and turns sour into sweet! I really enjoyed both drinks. The figs one came with a sweet fig granola bite and the lemon one really did taste sweet after eating the "Miracle Berry"! I'd definitely come back to try their many other drinks.

I liked how they organized the menu by country/geography to facilitate an understanding of the flavor profiles. I got two of the date & fig-flavored smoked whisky drinks and it was a well made, balanced, and very good. Not cheap at some $25 or something, but middle of Manhattan with some creative ingredients means I guess it is what it is. Servers seemed a bit annoyed to have to deal with us shortly before close as I think they were hoping to usher people out and close down maybe a little early. One the one hand I get it, on the other hand you've got two paying customers on a slow night.

They're experimental, whimsical, delicious, and worth every penny. My absolute favorite is Child of Light, and my BF's was High Frequency Device. The interior was dimly lit, with a couple of candles per table or counter. It's a perfect place for a date night. And while there may be a wait on busier nights, it's always worth the wait. We were sat at the bar once and were very well taken care of by our bartender, Nikola. It was a Sunday night, so it wasn't terribly busy. We chatted up a storm and he was able to create some drinks off the menu just for fun (on request). He also made my BF and me a couple of drinks to celebrate our anniversary too. Wonderful people and wonderful service. Needless to say, we will be back as frequently as we can!

It was dark when we entered the coffee shop but an ajar door gave way to the bar. The decor is a homage to the works of Nikola Tesla, which can be seen in the subtle electric theme throughout the space and the naming of the cocktails. The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. Since we had cocktails at dinner, we only stayed for one round. Service was good, and overall I enjoyed my time at Patent Pending. I would definitely return to explore more of their menu.

As I walked in and saw just how swanky this place is I panicked - there was no way we could just walk in here without a reservation, right? But the hostess was, thankfully, so down to earth. I was straight up like hey I totally messed up and thought we could just walk in here, she was like you know what, let me see what we have. Lo and behold, she did have a table for us - as long as we were out in an hour and a half, which was just the right amount of time. Stepping into this place feels like you're in some secret, super special cocktail club. Decor is super high end, vibes are upscale AF. The cocktail menu is incredible -- and incredibly pricey, but truly worth it. I ordered the Valentino which was strong and sweet, really well made. They gave out a complimentary nut mix that was also delicious. Service was swift and gracious. If you're looking for a spot to impress a date, this is it.

The mint Moroccan tea gave the drink a cool, refreshing taste on every sip. I also tried the Silver Screen, the closest drink I could find to an old fashioned. It was interesting, there was definitely a hint of a buttery taste. Overall a really balanced bourbon drink. I walked in and found room at the standing tables. We walked in without a reservation around 6:20 p.m., and they were able to accommodate us at a shared table until 7:15. The menu surprised me a bit. Since I associated the address with Eleven Madison Park, I wasn't expecting to see items like wings stuffed with sausage, which were done in partnership with Jungsik. We ordered those along with the mushroom burger and asked them to cut the burger in half for us. The cocktail menu was creative and a little intimidating, with unconventional ingredients like cream cheese and green curry. I went with a fruity Hendrick's-based drink, and my friend ordered the spicy green curry martini. Both were good. Mine didn't taste very strong, but it also wasn't overly sweet because there was enough bitterness to balance it out. The green curry martini was more adventurous but still worked. Service was mixed. There was a woman standing near us, so we tried ordering food with her, but she seemed hesitant to come over. Maybe she wasn't a server or was newer. For drinks, she brought over someone more seasoned, who quickly helped guide us based on our preferred taste profiles. Her suggestions were very good. The mushroom burger was the highlight for me. It was a little salty, but the crispy mushroom and soft bun were a great combination. I honestly wished I had more than half. The wings were okay. They were crispy on the outside and juicy inside, but coated in a Dorito-like powder that made them very messy. Overall, it was a good experience, and I'd come back, especially for the mushroom burger.
