I've got my nerve writing a review about the Cathedral City Target when I was there for no more than 20 minutes. That fact won't stop me as I feel somewhat emotional about the entire time spent inside. After a busy day taking care of business and a lovely meal at Oceans across the highway, I asked my husband if he would mind stopping at Target so I could pick up a few items for which I felt the need. The unenthusiastic reply sounded something like "Noyeah," but I took it to mean "yes" because that's what I wanted to hear. We luckily found a parking place right in front of the entrance, grabbed a cart and inside I was overwhelmed with the size of the store, having never been before. One of the Yelpers has said that this is not a Superstore, but it certainly is much larger than the one in Palm Desert, which I have been frequenting and in which I have had no trouble locating things that I wanted. As he pushed the cart around I could see my husband becoming glassy-eyed and zombie-like. (Not a good shopper.) Determining that the items for which I was searching were located in all the different four corners, (only by questioning other shoppers,) I asked my husband to sit on a bench and wait for me. "Oh, O.K.," he replied. Now, here is my really BIG gripe. I am so impatient with the store providing motorized shopping carts to the 300 lb. and plus individuals, who can't get off their fat asses long enough to buy more items to make them fatter. These people, upon securing the wheels, immediately feel an entitlement to race anywhere they damn please, uncaring of who or what is in their path. They look neither to the left or right while accomplishing their mad quest. I vow to hold the responsible establishment liable if I am injured by a dangerous, insane fatso speeding in one of their store provided vehicles, when I am no longer spry enough to jump out of their way. Avoiding injury to my best ability, I gathered my absolute necessities, checked out quickly, collected my husband and went home to shop again another day. Lastly, my receipt locates this Target in Palm Springs, when it is clearly in Cathedral City. Can this be interpreted as city class-consciousness? read more

Was there this morning and the store looked liked hell....carts full of merchandise in every aisle, shelves totally emptied, and only two check out lines opened with at least 8 to 10 customers waiting. If you are the type of cliens for Target good. I would never recommend this particular store to anyone who does not want to get and be insulted by Target employee. My visit today was awful being insulted by Rachel and her being protected by her manager Mike who does not even have the proper training to handle such situation knowingly that his employee was wrong the way she addressed me in a bad manner. She was rude, not even have the decency to apologize for the way the talked to me, this is the unheard store. Oh yeah if you want the employee to give you the "I don't car attitude" you will be well served at this store. Target need to train their employee much better than that. Not like this review will do anything good to them because Target does not seems to care they must have a motto "one customers lost" "ten more will come anyway". It had been a while since I visited this store and I was extremely pleased with the customer service! An associate answered my question when I couldn't find a product and the cashiers left a great impression. All the smiles and jokes left me with the want to return. The restroom needed a little attention but compared to the cleanliness and appearance of the rest of the store it was not a bother. Whoever is doing the hiring here is doing a phenomenal job! So pleased with my experience and I will be back. read more

This is by far the worst Target store I have ever been in. The men's department is worse than a Goodwill store after a 50% off weekend. Looks like a tornado blew through the stock room and threw everything in the air and dropped it. Totally not shop-able. The rest of the store is not much better. Abandoned stock carts in most aisles prohibit cart traffic. Price reductions are not in the system so it's always a crap shoot at checkout and very frustrating when you get home with an item that was supposed to be on sale and have to return. Something is wrong at this Target and the corporation needs to fix it. read more

I was glad to discover Target back when Sears started to really go downhill. Target provides what Sears did long ago - great selection, higher quality, low prices. Maybe it's just luck but I've never been disappointed in any of my purchases there. And as millions of people seem to know, it's a far more pleasant place to shop than any Walmart. read more

This Target isn't BAD, per se... I mean I go to a lot of Targets and have a bit of experience with that. I prefer em less crowded, I mean who doesn't? This Target does a good job of that, there's usually not many people except on weekends and around major holidays so that's fine. My issue is they're so UNDERSTAFFED. You'll have mile-long lines with only two registers open, and then they have the nerve to say they're hiring and not hire you. :/ read more

Dirty floors. Overflowing trash cans. No carts, baskets or Sani-wipes. Add in the empty/sloppy shelves and you get the WORST Target in the Coachella Valley. Employees we're friendly, helpful, store was clean and stocked. Bathroom by pharmacy needs a serious cleaning and deodorizer.

Most our visits to this store have been pleasant. Some of their staff members will say hi to you and offer to help. Others will simply just walk past you without any acknowledgement. This store always has everything we need, no issues there. Checking out basically comes down to how busy they are and how many employees they got working; it can be super quick or you might have to wait in line. read more

Love this place! I was sad when target in Canada disappeared, but let's be honest...Target in the States is so much better. Prices are always fantastic and they have such a great selection on everything! From household items, cosmetics, bikes to stationary. They literally have everything you may desire. Parking is always great. Staff is good and selection on items is wonderful. I find myself over spending at Target and it's because they have so much great stuff. What is going on with this Target store in Cathedral City? Typically Target stores provide a great shopping experience and are consistent in providing a quality shopping experience. However, this store is disorganized, poorly stocked, piled with crates of merchandise sitting lonely in the aisles, messy and/or totally empty shelves etc. etc. I was very surprised as this is a high-populated area and seems like a Target store in this location would be well managed. Yet another pre-wedding supplies run, this time for sundry makeup and pretty-up supplies... mostly this trip I was merely the carrier of the bags. An equally well organized, clean and bright store as the one in Palm Desert, and really, most Targets. Went to pick up an order Friday at about 7:10 p.m.. They stress no face mask no entry. Is pretty sad when the young man at the pick up counter didn't even have his nose covered. Why the policy?!?! And with a line waiting to pick up....he actually walked like a snail to the section where he had to get it. Bought a leap pad on the 31st of March, got it home found it was defective went back the next day and tried to return it and was greeted by a sniveling little smug pixie of a hipster that told me there are no returns until the 10th due to Corona virus... I asked where in the store does it show a policy regarding this and I followed him around as he looked for a sign regarding the policy and did not find one. I didn't have time to keep at it with them so I decided I'll come back on the 10th, do just that and same kid same attitude just points to a sign that's been taped up saying now no returns till the 16th. So I return yet again yesterday, same kid same smug attitude this time he sees me and starts laughing, points to the sign and it now says the 26th.....i call for a manager, it takes having to tell these idiots 4 times, (4 different levels of management I guess l) b4 the last guy a big black guy tells me he doesn't care what the law is I. E. There was no posted signs of this policy when item was bought or first returned. Tells me he's going to call the cops if I don't stop making a scene because I was voicing their illegal actions for all customers to hear. So now I'm still stuck with a defective item, bought a working one from Amazon so my kid didn't have to go without regardless, and 4 trips to and from a target store that is 60 miles out of my way each time. I easily found a pair of slippers that fit. Unfortunately, the checkout process took a long time. There were only 1 or 2 cashiers active with a significant backlog. I visited Target today and I was so impressed by service there at Cathedral City. I bought a floor lamp and was assisted by Christy she was great she helped me locate the item and then found a cart for me and loaded an exceptionally heavy floor lamp into the cart for me and also advised at check out to ask for car service. That fellow was also personal and service oriented. He didn't even mind that my car was over by Starbucks in the parking lot. Because my car is small he carefully placed the large box into my passenger seat. I also needed ink cartilages for a printer and was helped by a young fellow who looked up which cartilage I needed and read all the small print for me until he found what I needed. This target tends to have only 2 check-out lanes open after about 7pm or so which is annoying. Also, the customer service is hit or miss. You've got a whole lot of cashiers who act as if it is beneath them to bag items for you, particularly if you bring your own bag. They scan items and instead of putting them in the bag, they set it up on the counter for you to bag it yourself. If you don't like your job or think it is beneath you, then evidently customer service types of positions are not for you. Spare your customers, and find something else to do. read more

I generally like this store but tonight I had an absolutely horrible experience when I tried to pick up an order I had placed online. The person in customer service refused to take the order number to find my order! That person did take my driver license but then could not find my order. They repeatedly refused to take the order number! Every other store asks for the order number, retrieves the product, then verifies it is me. So I called Target corporate on the phone. The person from corporate asked to speak with the person who was so rude to me. That's when that employee lied and said they had asked for my order number! (If anyone from Target reads this, watch the security video of this interaction. It will show I tried to hand the Target employee my phone with the order number, but they refused it repeatedly.) Finally the person from Target on the phone asked if another associate in this store could help me. Another person in customer service was able to quickly find my order, retrieve it, and give it to me. That person was so much better. I was able to provide 1. the order number in the email from Target on my phone, 2. photo ID, and 3. Target Mastercard I used to buy the product. Yet the first person I dealt with in customer service at the store still refused to fulfill my order. All that for a $10 product! Plus, this rude employee who was so bad to me claimed they were the current on-site supervisor for the entire store. Very bad behavior. Bad example for everyone else working there. I go to this Target at least once a week and each time I'm there at least 5 employees ask me if I'm finding everything ok. However, today I went and felt so satisfied with the service I received that I had to share it. We are in Target this afternoon looking for a last minute Halloween costume for my 2 year old. Not just any costume, we specifically need an Olaf costume, so that the baby completes our 3 kids package. They have insisted on being the Frozen characters together. Very popular costume and hard to find. We looked in costumes, nothing. So we decide to walk over to toys because sometimes they also have a few costumes displayed. Nothing. We are talking about what to do next, as for some reason we had gone to Walmart first. (Ew) All of a sudden a Target employee, Deanna, approaches us. She can tell we need help so we explain our situation. Well the kids do, and it takes awhile. She is smiling the whole time and asks us if we've looked in costumes. We say yes and she says she is going to check for us again and that she'll meet us over there. Nothing. Ten minutes later we are in the boys section looking at least for the character shirt, and here is Deanna. She says she looked up in the computer and sees there is one more, but couldn't find it. She also had already coordinated for front desk to call the palm desert store to see if they had one. They did, in his size, and everything ended amazing. read more

Went to this Target store to browse around and kill time. And I noticed a sign that said 25-30% on ALL party cards games for the New Years. So while browsing I stumbled upon a game that I heard a lot of good/bad. "cards against humanity" so I went to the cashier to check out and the item wasn't discounting. I explained to the cashier that the game is on sale (she called her supervisor Olivia). Olivia didn't bother to check what was signed but rather ask another associate why it didn't discount. After further frustration, I just left the store. As a person who works in retail, if a price is signed incorrectly, it would always be honored. I went to this target only becuse it was in the same parking lot as my doctors office. The man and woman who work in the pharmacy are extreamly rude. They will not go out of there way to help you with anything. I was having an issue with my insurance company, and they were not willing to help me in the least bit. The girl gave me attitude along with eye rolling. I drove down the street to a different pharmacy,and got my percriptions filled in 20 min. The outside is beautiful- more gorgeous desert architecture. Staff is friendly and ok. The bathrooms- you can hear a pin drop, how can anyone relax enough to go to the bathroom? There is no fart fan, its bright white like a laboratory on space ship and the stalls offer NO privacy with the gaps and wide openings underneath. The WORST, WORST customer service I have EVER SEEN. I ASKED 3 different people if they had a Barbecuer, 1st girl didn't seem to know what a Barbecue was. So I asked a cashier. Nope, nothing. She says ask the people in the back.. They know more then me!!! So then I asked the kids who ran the electronics. The girl annoyed rules her eyes and said idk they should be right there.. And points.
