World Market is someplace that you never know what you need but once you're there, you needed it...lol... A speciality store that's carries a good amount of all your international needed. I come for all my British snacks that's harder to get in your regular groceries stores. Pretty all the locations carries the same things but some stores will have more selections of things. This location is pretty decent in size. Loads of parking in the lot. It didn't seemed that big when I walked in but it could be the same sizes as the others locations. It's alway nice to have a browse and see what they have. Such a good selections on home items and decors. Furniture is quite nice as well. Their wine and champagne selections are always pretty impressive. I like to have a wander through the apparel as some things are quite nice. Give or take depending on the season. During the holidays, the place has a really good variety of holidays ornaments and gifts. But I come for my British sweets. The biscuits and shortbread. A good amount of items to choose from. Then you have all the other, crisp, tea and so on. They are a little pricer but it's a given with international cost. If there's a sale, loads up on the things as there's always a great deal. read more

World Market has some nice stuff, from furniture to food to drink, always interesting. The service at this location is uneven at best. Had two bar height dining chairs on order, and received a notice that they were ready for pickup. Mid day, we walked in, looking around, picking up a few items and figured we'd see an employee on the floor to let them know we were here to pick up our order. No one was around, just a somewhat beleaguered looking fellow running a register that had 'crashed' and he was stuck. Having to go to another register to ring up paying customers. There was another couple trying to make a return, which is when his register crashed on him, so now they are standing around while the cashier was trying to summon for assistance and here we are asking for our order, but (rightfully so) he really couldn't leave the register. The cashier was trying his best to get some help with no luck. So us and the folks (very nice people and far more patient than I!) are getting a bit annoyed. It's been fifteen minutes for us, no idea how long the other couple had been waiting. I went outside and called the store, and a woman answered and said that I and another couple are at the register and need some help. OK was about all she had to say. Another ten minutes pass, now the other couple is calling the store we're standing in and to please come assist us all, customers and cashier alike. Finally along comes "Summer" , clearly unhappy, less than friendly. Saying they were "in a meeting." Seriously? There are cameras everywhere, the cashier had been requesting help over their radios and they were too busy in their #^%* meeting? Are you kidding me? While I give them a generous two stars that's based only on the merchandise and the poor cashier. As for management... minus five stars. "Management" LOL in name only at best. read more

This place is especially fun to visit near Christmas, because you will find gift ideas you won't find anywhere else. You will find items unavailable anywhere else. Strange and unique items of every kind. Plus a plethora variety of unique food items I really love browsing at this store. I never know what I might find, but I always leave with a bag of new treasures. Love this place. read more

I just want to say that I love going to World Market. I feel like you enter another world and love seeing all the different items they have. I visited the store on Sunday for an online pick up and realized that my full order was not actually ready due to me misreading the email. I drove about 45 and the manager Brian couldn't have been more understanding an out the whole situation. He didn't hesitate and went ahead and found each item to avoid me coming back to the store. He didn't have to do this, but he did without asking. I highly recommend this store and also have high praise for all the employees that work there. I'm there a little bit too much lately as we try to redecorate the home we just moved into and have always had a very positive experience. read more

I love World Market, the selection is beautiful and I wanted to show my partner how cute everything is seeing as we're on vacation, but one of the clerks was following us throughout the entire store. As soon as we walked in, he started following us, standing on the same aisle or in the same section we were in. It got to the point where I felt upset and decided to just leave. The clerk following us offered us a basket as we were leaving but I was over it already. We bought our items and left. It's so dehumanizing to be followed around a store like that. I understand that this location probably doesn't see a lot of people who look like us and therefore the clerk was probably on high alert (i work in a grocery store so i understand the desire to stop ppl from stealing), but seriously we weren't even acting suspicious or anything. One of my favorite place to shop in the area. Easy access and tons of parking. The store is very well stocked and signed. Browsing and looking at all the departments is always such joy! Great theme display of stuffs! I absolutely love their food department. It has all these imports, which are truly inspirational ! I've forgotten how much i adore canned Sardines from Portugal !! Great store but please can management monitor line lengths and waiting times at the register. While folks take their grand old time paying for their purchases the assistants seem to have zero care that people are waiting a very long time in line which puts me off going to the store at all. Take a leaf out of Jensens and either hire more people up front or have your existing staff responsive to the lines that build and jump on the registers. Moan over and happy holidays lol read more

Great customer service is what saved this review from 3-stars. I am a newly huge fan of World Market (even though my mom has been shopping here for years). Getting there: Pretty easy getting there. Going Eastbound, take the 10 fwy to the 111 then turn left on the second light into town, which is Racquet Club Rd and that will take you 9 miles down right to the shopping center. Experience: I was online browsing their website for entertainment stands for my new house, and I came across this beautiful wooden piece...simple but made a statement. We went to the World Market in Redlands to look at it in person, and it was even more perfect. So when we went to order it online, the only place that had one in-stock was the Palm Springs location (which is only 30 mins from my house, so it's no biggie). We received a call from them the day before letting us know the box was opened for the piece they had in-stock. We assumed the box was just opened, no damage came to the item, so we were ok with it. When we arrive to pick up the box, (I wish I got a picture), but the box was taped together on all sides and a separate piece was given to us wrapped in brown paper. We paid a good amount for this piece, so we still believed the piece would be ok. Long story short, while trying to assemble the piece we noticed we were missing the back, the doors would not line up, and there were parts that looked like someone already tried to assemble prior to us purchasing. We reached out to the store and one of the staff members told us the only one they had in-stock is their showroom piece, but reassured us its in perfect condition. He told us he would trade us pieces and refund us 40% for the stand (which is pretty nice considering how much we paid). I will post a update once we pick up the new stand, but I've been pretty impressed with how they've handled the situation. read more

I've always loved Cost Plus for wasting time and finding treasures from around the world. From decorating items to foods, there's always something to be found. Got my favorite childhood wafers from Italy, Martini and Rossi Asti, Lindt White Chocolate a pretty candy dish and a flat plate for watercolor painting. It was a pleasant experience to stroll through. read more

I just had one of the worst customer service experiences when I visited with my mother, who approached a female sales assistant with dark black hair and jeans. My mother asked if they had any hammocks, to which the assistant gave her a condescending look and curtly replied, "We don't have hammocks." When my mother mentioned she thought she had purchased one there before, the assistant looked her up and down and gave her another dismissive look. Where I'm from, we call someone like that a "jobsworth." The guy who served us was sweet but we won't be visiting again. read more

Dont go in the evening. Christmas shopping is not going to get done at this store. Employees are rude. Will not acknowledge you as they pass by you. Didn't know they closed at 8pm. Walked by 3 employees and they didn't say anything. Went all the way to back of store to get some things and they turned the lights off on me and my child. We went up to the front and asked what time they closed and an employee not looking at me said 8pm. I asked why no one told us when we came in and she ignored us. We left our shopping cart and continued to walk towards the exit and doors were closed. We had to manually open them and then the same employee asked if it was locked?? We walked out and she just came behind us to lock the door. I am very disappointed in the service we received and the lack of communication with employees. read more

I liked the store and never really had any problems there until this last experience I had purchased a coffee table online and went to go pick it up Then I'm told that it was already sold and more would be coming Fine so I wait to hear Over the next two months I was given the runaround so badly that I doubt I'd ever go back there I emailed customer service and was told that it's on its way to the store I go to the store and they say they have no way of knowing if it's on it's way and talk to customer service I call customer service and they say to call the store I keep getting emails one day saying it's on back order and the next saying it's on it's way to the store It wasn't like this was a table emergency , but no one there could tell me what's going on I finally cancelled the order after my twentieth email saying it's on its way The whole experience way very frustrating I will say the people physically at the store were trying but their hands were tied too I don't think that's any way to run a business and will give someone else my money read more

At first I loved working here. It only took about a month before I started noticing that things were off. Management worked like a marriage with a dark secret, dysfunctional, and quickly became clear that the two women who run the store, are not only cahoots but will pull out all of the stops trying to get employees who don't necessarily fit in their cult, fired. While working here, I've seen 5 managers quit due to the toxicity, over-scheduling, and/or lower ranking employees whining. This is only after 3 or 4 years. Don't even get me started on associate turn over. There is little to no chance of being promoted unless you use the phrase "I don't need this job" and either have a trust fund or are in a marriage with an upper middle class tax bracket at minimum. They do not consider your resume, background, or skillset when considering promotions (they'd rather hire from outside anyway as there is a company sponsored $500 incentive for this) and despite statements counter to this, observing their actions simply reinforces this concept. Besides the dismal operation practices, HR could care less if their managers make racist statements and theres been more than a handful of overheard conversations where slurs were being used between the trifecta of ruthless people running this location and La Quinta California's location (managed by the same lead). They care little for their employees, offer no opportunities for growth unless you lack passion, and only care about customers if they've ever donned a particular red ball cap. read more

Every so often we find ourselves strolling through World Market, mostly to look at the food. The stores have a great selection of furniture and gifts and foods from all over the world. Prices are higher than i would like, otherwise I would for sure be a fan. Service is always nice, the space is clean and set up well, though smaller than other location i have been to. They do have great specials to look for, best deal here now 2 adventcalenders from Germany for $1.50 (BOGO) read more

This store is a good as it gets, all because of its manager Willie. During a crazy week when everyone was around for Coachella, I went to this store and could not be happier. Willie, the store manager is INCREDIBLE! Everyone there were super friendly, accommodating and most important, kind. Willie has such knowledge of the store products and stock and it is so willing to help that I bought everything I needed there. World Bazaar should use his ability to provide A++++ service to train other managers and employees around the country. What a gem, Willie made a stressful day end with a great shopping experience. I wish I could give a "0" rating The website said they had 1 of the item in stock, so we called and asked them to hold it for us. They said we had to order it on line and that they would tag it and hold it for us, then they would send an email when it was ready for pick up. We waited a couple of hours and decided to drive to the store...more than 20 miles. When we arrived and gave them our printed receipt, they told us they didn't have it anymore. Apparently, a woman had come in 2 hours before and they sold it to her. They said they were sorry but we could order on line again and maybe receive it by the end of January...a month away. And...they wouldn't sell us the floor model either. When we were in the car and on our way back home empty-handed, we received an email that our order had been cancelled. What a terrible way to treat a customer. We will never buy from this store again. read more

Will or Summer. Both very helpful. Because of Summer letting a display item be sold since more had arrived somewhere in the back but weren't unboxed yet, I came back and bought even more of the item later. This after I first asked another employee nearby if it could be sold since no more on the floor and I just got a flat out "No" without even a "let me check with my manager." Will has been great more than once in helping with the ridiculous online rewards program from corporate that is NOT user friendly to figure out or use. And that is whether trying to use by text on your phone or on your computer. Figure this out corporate!!! Make it simple and easy. Otherwise, it's just like you're pretending to be doing something "helpful." I had $90 in rewards I didn't even know about and couldn't get to. Anyway, Will has saved the day there more than once and as a result sold a lot more furniture etc to me. She located the items at another store, ensuring they would have the merchandise ready for me when I arrived -- which they did. I've bought my fair share of stuff at World Market, and I've received some good prices due to sales on a few of the items. And they do have a good variety of mdse. However, they are not very competitively priced on many items. In their favor, I found what I was looking for... some little mason jar shot glasses (for mini desserts). I had gone a couple doors down, to TJ Maxx first and they had 2 sets (of 4) priced at $5.99 each. I needed more so I went to World Market and as I said, I found them, but priced at $12.99 for the exact set ... same mfg, same packaging. That is DOUBLE the cost at TJ Maxx. I asked if they price matched, but they didn't. It was my "lucky" day, however, as they were on sale for $7.77. Just sayin'.... OH, and after I paid and she was handing me my receipt, she told me how much I saved, since they were on sale. Ummm, didn't she hear me say they were $5.99 next door?! I had to chuckle. read more

The Palm Springs World Market is a terrific store! This is a very belated review but it still stands! We had great, personable and hands on service from Willy and Brooke in the store! We are new to town as residents although we have been visiting for years... With their terrific assistance we were able to get our new set of dining chairs and we are very pleased with them! Also a call out to the Santa Clarita store Manager, Parker? and staff who helped to pull it all together for us! Keep up the good work! We love stopping in regularly now to get all sorts of goodies.
