The free people is not as big as I thought. I thought this location has free people movement as well, but they only have the regular line and a swim session. The store smells very bad, not sure if it's some sewerage issues...we didn't stay long due to the smell. read more

Great store if you're white, but don't expect anything but judgment and suspicion if you're a person of color. The shocking thing to me is I came here after shopping to see how others received them and saw the same pattern: glowing reviews from white people and accusations of racism from anyone who isn't. It's shocking that this sort of overt discrimination is acceptable this day and age, and so long as people who aren't discriminated against choose to continue patronizing these venues, nothing will change. My girlfriend loves this store! Every time we stop in she finds her latest obsession. There's always something new and exciting and the best part is the staff! We visited yesterday to treat ourselves to some jewelry and the girls working there were so friendly and helpful, as always. I've been a fan of Free People for many many years. However my love for the store and the brand has waned over time. Never would I consider myself to be the "boho hipster" type. Most of the clothing I cannot wear. It's just not sophisticated enough for me. So what I will do is go to the sale rack, in the back, ... the one that is hidden from view, and around a wall... through a door and in the corner... you know which one I'm talking about ... hhaa They will put clothes on the rack there, that are SUPPOSED to be on sale or discounted or marked down or whatever.... and I will shuffle through all the clothing, make a selection, look it over and really begin to like it... then I will look at the price tag and my heart will hit the ground. How... is it possible to mark a garment only $5.00 off and throw it on the sales racks ?? ? ?! One would think you are actually getting a bargain.. But you are not.. I came here a few weeks ago with my mom and sister. The store is beautiful and well organized, but it was Taylor's warm energy and kind words that really made our day! She helped me and my sister with fitting rooms and was so attentive to us and encouraging about the clothes we tried on. She was super friendly and made conversation with my mom while we were in the rooms. Give this girl a promotion! She's the best. read more

I absolutely love this store! We came to Palm Springs for a girls trip/birthday and checked this store out before we went to look for dessert. First of all, I've gone to one other Free People store near my house in South Coast Plaza and that store is tiny and frankly super disappointing. This FP store is a good size with a ton of sizes available! I was looking at a rack of maxi dresses and my GOODNESS I saw the most amazing FL&L dress that I had been eyeballing on the Free People website for months. It was kismet! I tried it on and it fit like a glove. I went to pay @ the register and the lovely sweet girl asked me if there was a special occasion for the dress. I told her that I was going to Hawaii so I might take it with me. She then told me she used to live in Hawaii (can't recall the island) and gave my friends and I great places to visit! I can't remember her name for the life of me but she was super cool and friendly. I can't wait to wear my beautiful For Love and Lemons maxi to Hawaii and to check out those spots you recommended! I've always shopped at free people before being that my bestfriend is a manager at the Sherman Oaks location, I know exactly what to expect and how the workers should be. I also have a friend from Highschool who works at this location whom I spoke to about the service not only being bad but disrespectful whenever I visit. I'm not greeted, I'm ignored and the only time they really care to pay attention to me is only to keep eyes on where I'm walking to and what i'm doing which to me seems personal if it continues to happen every time I have visited THIS location.. Today I decided to come in and make an exchange for a top, again I was hit with the same attitude and I wanted to see if they would acknowledge other people and they sure did! If you're rich and aren't a POC they will give you the customer service you deserve. Not only did they ignore me but the worker seemed like she didn't know what she was doing, didn't hand me a bag or anything and I ended up leaving the store with the censor tag still attached to the item... That couldn't be MORE of a sign that they didn't pay attention to me and only wanted me out of their store ASAP! I had to drive back 25 mins from my location and go again to the store. I explained what I experience when entering the storefront to the same employee who checked me out and she did absolutely nothing... not wanting to involve a hire up or make up for the harassment i've endured. But sure enough there was another employee hearing in on my conversation with her and again said nothing just a simple stare down was what she decided to give me.. This is ridiculous. I've worked at Victoria's secret before and plenty of other retail stores.. This is what NOT to do if you want customers. Discrimination at its finest but it's okay! Hoping these girls get better training or attitudes, no need to feel entitled when you're suppose to be helping customers and making sales. read more

I bought my friend a bday gift and the staff at the Palm Springs store were nice enough. Got a gift receipt and everything. My friend went to exchange the $100 shorts I got her for a different size and they gave her hell because she didn't have a gift receipt! I called tried to get it resolved. There's no way this couldn't have been handled on such a smaller level. No wonder the prices are so high because it's literally the first and last time anyone wants to shop here. read more

I'm soooo happy there's a free people now closer to my house!! Woohoo And I couldn't disagree more with the other review. I've been here more then 6 times and every time I'm greeted kindly and offered tons of help! The girls have always been so kind with helping me and talking to my kids. There's a super sweet girl with red hair that I can never remember her name(sorry girl) she's just been beyond kind and helpful ever time I go in with a return or getting a new purchase. They also always offer to order something if I need something they don't carry for free of charge shipping. Win win read more

The staff was very helpful in getting me dressing rooms and also helping me out to pick out cute clothes! The clothes are quite expensive, however, they are worth your money. Outrageous, inflexible, return policy. I bought a dress on vacation. I needed to return it due to sizing. "There's nothing we can do to help you" is what I was told online "help line" and by the store manager. We live 5 hours away. The closest store is at least three hours away. Their policy is that it must be returned in person. We are under a stay at home order in CA due to COVID. I will never again buy any item from this brand or set foot in their store.
