Friday, December 11, 2020 Hot Topic Employees Save Christmas! They found my lost shopping bag with $120 worth of items. This would have been a Christmas nightmare I would never forget, but because of Hot Topic employees (Nikki & Adrian) it will be a Christmas I'll always remember. After a long day of work I shopped for my children. After buying from several stores I visited Hot Topic a second time. I put my bags on the floor for a minute to ponder merchandise. After purchasing Cobra Kai shirts I returned home. However, my Vans shopping bag with Powell skateboard bearings was missing. I called every store I visited. Nikki at Hot Topic answered my phone call. She took my phone number and stated she would call me if my Vans bag was found. The call almost ended when she said they just found my bag. They would hold it for me. I drove back and I asked who found it? I was told Adrian. The Christmas Spirit is alive and well. Anyone could have found and kept my items, but they didn't (two packs of Powell Swiss Skateboard Bearings, the best and expensive ones). Had I lost them it would have been a Christmas nightmare I would never forget, but because of Hot Topic employees (Nikki & Adrian) it will be a Christmas I'll always remember. This location is cramped and impossible to navigate when it's crowded. Great products but good luck getting to the items you want. It takes a great deal of patience to shop here. Be ready to jump in the mosh pit and push and shove just to get back out. read more

The managers at this store are the worst lol. I'm a regular & I often see the managers Lisa & Alex speaking rudely about other customers while they're still in the store & really it's so uncalled for. I've also seen Alex cry at the register multiple times talking about her personal problems like it's a therapists office. Why as a customer do I need to hear about your father leaving you before you were born & your exes cheating on you? That's actually embarrassing for you please get a grip and a therapist. You desperately need one girly pop. read more

This location is in the mall, so definitely high traffic in the store at the time I shopped. The store was extremely well organized. Staff were visibly busy but still took time to look around the room for anybody that needed assistance or had questions. There was a big sale going on and everything was clearly marked and in certain sections. I was approached by staff while browsing just to make sure I knew about the sale and where to look. Some items are stored in locked cabinets, but I have no problem getting attention of staff to open the cabinets when I wanted a closer look at items. Staff even one above and beyond when checking out because there were some confusion with rewards points and they helped rectify everything for the purchase. read more

I bought a Disney Pixar Toy Story Alien tank top. It fell apart after 1 wash and the response I got was that they do not return or exchange anything washed or worn. So if you buy something and it falls apart (defective) they do not stand behind the quality of what they sell. I emailed the website and got that response even though the top was NEVER worn, just washed according to the directions BUYER BEWARE!! read more

Back in the day (as in, when I was 16-18) Hot Topic was the Shit. I was in fact dating someone that worked there, I frequented it so much. I'm not sure when Hot Topic made a transition from that-creepy-store-your-parents-wouldn't-let-you-go-into to neon-and-hello-kitty-galore. But back in my day, i.e. before Twilight, it sort of fluctuated somewhere in the middle. After the high school boyfriend and I broke up I refused to set foot in there for the longest time, but a few months ago I went in looking for shorts and ended up buying the TINIEST pair of polka-dot denim shorts (which are cute as hell, and fit really great, don't get me wrong, but not something my gothy-scene-kid-high-school-self would have ever thought of purchasing). Also I forgot how unnecessarily expensive their shit is, for the not-great quality of what you're buying. I forgot about this because my high school boyfriend would buy me most things I wanted from there (too bad he was an asshole besides that.) But despite all that some of my favorite articles of clothing came from there. I bought my Lady Gaga shirt there and some of my favorite purses. also the best wallet ever. Perhaps I'll never grow out of my inner emo-kid fashion sense. But at the westfield shopping mall, it's this or the cringe-inducing hollister that smells like a pineapple's walk of shame. So far I love this Hot Topic. I love the way their customer service is and how cool the employees are when you walk in. Some of the people are cool to talk to and it makes you feel comfortable to shop. I recommend this store to anyone who needs to shop at Hot Topic. Keep doing a great job :) read more

Stop selling Disney Social Club shirts.. You're just giving the people in the social clubs something laugh at on the blog sites and social media. I can't shop on Hot Topic anymore. They used to want to bring products to the counter and sub cultures that kids couldn't get based on where they live. Now you'll literally sell anything regardless of its terrible or Disney said yes. read more

My son and I went in looking for a specific backpack. Let me tell you I am from Orange County and i cant stand going into this chain of stores in that area. The level of contempt and arrogance from the employees is ridiculous. Not Hot Topic here in Palm Desert. Everyone was so nice! They were very patient and sweet with my 9 year old son. Been coming here faithfully for over a year now . Never had any problems with the staff . I am a pop collector. As you know hot topic is one of the few places out in the desert that receives "rare" pops . My issue is that I spend about 200-350$ a month here on pops , I don't give anyone a hard time I'm chill and respectful . But today I just had enough with the careless attitude . I went in today to grab one of your "kurama" pops .The pop was located on your very top shelf . When your employee went to grab it she drops it from the highest shelf onto the floor... Anyone who collects pops knows that a broken box it loses value . The box became damaged I was upset with her but I knew it was accident . I got personally upset when she found it funny that she dropped it.. NOW THAT that PISSED me off . The best part was when I went to pay ,and the employee next to the employee that was ringing me up felt the need to ease drop into MY CONVERSATION to basically tell me "I'm over reacting , and reselling pops is dumb" lol I don't understand how that was any of her business . Bottom line is I spend a s*** load of money there on pops and respect staff , I didn't expect any free items nor do I want any . I want some common respect and learn how to treat your regular customers . Only giving it 2 stars because of the Hispanic lady with the long dark hair is awesome , and the manager with the glasses , unfortunately non of those employees was in today .
