Sometimes they want you to play their game. Sometimes they play their game poorly. Sometimes they blame you for it. Sometimes they're "simply having a bad day". Sometimes they want their "bad day" to be your "bad day". That's this Target store. Everyone else's bad day is all of a sudden your bad day. This being a small-footprint Target store, the foot traffic is going to be hyperlocal. The neighborhood is extremely unpleasant, and Chicago is one of those places where instead of selling a townhome for a loss, they'll simply leave it empty for their friends to stay in until the market rebounds. A lot of people go to Target for retail therapy. Unless your bad day is worse than their bad day, they'll make your bad day even worse. read more

I bought this wine glass for my friend a couple of weeks ago online and it said "I enjoy long walks up and down the aisles of Target." YAS! That's me and all my girlfriends. Is there anything better than shopping at Target!? I am so happy a mini-Target opened so close to my home. It's much smaller than a normal Target not having things like clothing or house decor, but it has food items & personal care items plus a smattering of other random things. On my last visit I bought lemons & strawberries (the selection was fresh), heavy cream, milk (they had a ton of varieties), body wash, toothpaste, and cheese. So you can get anything you need here really. Employees are all insanely nice & helpful - this may be because it's still such a new Target! But right now, I'm loving it. The registers are all self check-out with one normal register each time I've gone in, but they are mostly there to help with self check out. Easy, breezy experiences every time I've gone here. A mini-Target within walking distance is a dream for me! read more

This target is really for people that live in walking distance and need toilet paper or la croix. There is no parking lot and pretty sparse selection. Good for picking up makeup/cleaning supplies/food staples like milk, eggs, and la croix . I didn't see any clothing or electronics other than portable blue tooth speakers. It is only self check out. An employee has to unlock the bathroom for you. For the size on a Sunday afternoon it was really cramped. read more

Love the store. It has everything for the whole family. The wide selection of cosmetic products, outfits, foods, home goods. It is always clean and with friendly personal stuff. Appreciate all that Target is doing to help protect its customers and employees during Covid 19 pandemic. Cleaning down carts, limiting amount of customers in store at same time, shielded check out, safe distancing throughout store, check out areas cleaned after every transaction. The employees are always so helpful, friendly, courteous, and professional. They smile at me & my daughter and thank us for coming. The employees are genuine and make me feel like they value me as a customer. Also, whenever I approach an employee about an item they are very helpful. They will check stock for the item or offer to get it in the back- even pink party streamers 15 minutes prior to closing on a Friday night. read more

This store is always very clean and organized which makes it so much easier to find what you are looking for. Plus they have great quality and very cute clothing options for kids. A Target with a full selection from groceries, clothing, tech, home improvement, etc. You'll find the help you need if you ask a Target employee nicely! Gets crowded during rush hours, but other then that it is a chill environment. I've been to many retailers and target still appealed to me the most from it's fresh look to the store associates. I don't know each one there names specifically but a friendly face I don't forget. read more

I've been coming to this location for years. I'm always satisfied with making purchases as well as making a payment on my account. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Bu lately it seems like they've been low on stock. Probably due to the current situation of the world but also disappointing. Very limited sizes of clothing and have been it of Clorox wipes for quite some time. However this is tending with a lot of other stores in the area. Also, this location does not carry as many sale items in the clothing department than other targets I've visited.  Overall, this is a good Target and decent alternative to the supermarket if you are doing a limited shopping. read more

I was sooooo happy when this Tarjay opened!!!!!!! I've lived in Wicker Park since 93. I so love to support my mom and pop shops, but, if I find a need to go to Target, the Wicker location totally works for me! Mostly because of cashier (Sherri!?) And I've met a super nice manager of this store named Mike There is a guy (owner?) Is it a franchise? I dunno. I think someone said he's in charge of the store (???) Blondish. I dunno. Brian maybe? He confuses me a bit. I don't know if he wants me there or, if he wishes I wasn't. I guess , thats a kinda description???? That's the only reason I'm taking off a star. read more

Ah, I love target. I love walking in and leaving my problems at the door, dig through the bullseye section and live my best life. This does not happen at this location. It's basically and express target. It has important items that you may need to hold you over until you go to a regular sized target. I've gone here a couple times since I moved to the neighborhood and have done a lot of in store pick ups. It just really helps when I'm in a bind. Wish there was more. The registers are all self checkout and there may be a cashier but rarely. read more

Wow - 5+ stars for the customer service at this brand new target in wicker park. Somebody greeted me (a luxury I didn't know I deserved), multiple people asked me if I needed help while shopping, and the kindest woman helped me at the self check out with multiple issues (you can't redeem coupons without assistance, bananas are notoriously troubling to ring up, etc.). I can only hope this service is maintained past opening week! 4 stars for product selection. It's a mini target. I would describe it as having a majority of the departments that a regular target has with 25% of the products. Unfortunately if you want something even slightly obscure like pita chips or full size tomatoes you're out of luck - but they do have a large baking selection including caramel drizzle. What I'm saying is, it's hit or miss. 2 stars for store layout and checkout process. It's small and narrow and self check out only. It's a busy neighborhood so that means long lines and tight spaces. I knocked over some soap with my bag. And it took me fifteen minutes to check out because I'm slow and like coupons - thus making me the reason other customers were angry about waiting. read more

This Target is the best store in the City, I've got mostly anything that I need to buy in such a reasonable prices. Their store is so organized, well-stocked, and also they have lots of selections. Their store is the best branch all over the City during this pandemic, all of their staff are so friendly and helpful, you can ask anytime for help and assist. All of their staff are willing to help and guide all of their customers. Their place is so perfect, it is so nearby in my hometown, I can go and visit there 10 to 15 minutes from my area. They are so convenient, I am not confused why their store is worth visiting again and again. I will definitely recommend this Target, and go back here again when I am nearby the City! Target is absolutely amazing. Their management is great and the staff are friendly. and it was a very pleasant experience as always with Target. The atmosphere was great, the workers pleasant and I found some great deals They gave everything from cloths to food section. variety of selections always fully stocked. Can always get the best price no matter where you are. The customer service is always super nice and friendly. Overall a great experience and I would come back and recommend to anyone over. It's the weekend and my husband and I have no work. And my kids were craving some cupcakes. Instead we buy from some cake shop. I just instead make a cupcake since I know how to bake. So I went there to this grocery store with my husband since he's the one who drives cars. We parked our car easily. When we enter there are few customers inside. My husband grabbed one cart and we started to buy our needs. We purchased flour, baking soda, corn starch, cocoa powder, and icing in the bottle. We bought everything we needed for baking. So aside from that we also bought milk, fresh mango and lemon for our drinks. Because I want to make lemonade and mango shake. After we bought everything we needed we paud it at the counter. Luckily there were no long lines so we had a nice experience here! read more

This place was huge and spacious. They have free access to parking where you can park easily but sometimes they have no vacant seats due to a lot of customers coming here. They have a great selection. Every one of them has a different variety of food and products. They are so organized in their inventory. The floor was clean and neat. The produce section looks fresh. I can't see any rotten fruits and veggies. Their seafood and meat section was good. Some of their seafood was fresh since it was fresh from the aquarium. Their service was great. They will greet you and assist you very well. You will enjoy shopping here. read more

Best toy store in town. Great selection and much more responsive than other toy stores in Chicago.

We came here to buy our groceries. This place was clean and really huge. They have a lot of choices. And they are so organized in every inventory they have. Their inventory also was full of stock. We went first to the selection of soap. We bought dishwashing liquid, shampoo, liquid soap, bar soap and colgate. Next we went to the selection of snacks. We bought chips and some juices. Then we went to the selection of produce. They have a different variety of veggies and fruits. It's all fresh. We bought tomato, cabbage, lettuce, carrots, pumpkin, apple, tamarind, orange and grapes. Next we went to the seafood selection. The fish and crabs that we bought were fresh from the aquarium. Some of the products that we bought are on sale. We happily bought groceries from this store. read more

For one thing this Target is self-checkout so I don't know what the other reviewer is talking about with a bad cashier (there are none) and every person I encountered was lovely. Secondly it's a neighborhood target so it's never meant to be full size and is great for grabbing small things that you need I was able to get everything i was looking for even the things I wasn't expecting them to have. It is a great addition to Wicker Park which already has multiple store options plus many delivery options and I'm baffled so many people are bashing it. Plus if you need a full size Target we literally have one like 5 minutes away. I do hope as they are in the neighborhood they continue to improve, but as of now they are doing great. read more

Probably the friendliest most efficient group of people I have seen at any Target. I was impressed by the employees and also their leaders for caring for their employees. Target has everything we need, many choices, and is convenient to our home. Our Family is constantly delighted with the items we find at Target. It is a pleasant shopping experience. This location is huge! Always clean, Great variety and well stocked departments. So many great quality brands to purchase with reasonable prices! Very clean and well maintained store. O.M.G. Worst Target Ever. I have been to small Targets such as the one near clark and diversey but this is not only small it is a very small with tiny isles that fit one cart, no cashiers and prices seamed higher for food. AND no alcohol is sold here. On a positive note the staff was very nice and helpful. I will not be back and will go the extra 1/2 mile to get to division and larabee. read more

Poor Cahier experience. Pricey is off. They need to go back to the drawing board. Could not find stuff. Lack of ice cream even. What is target trying to achieve here. Compete w Walgreens and Cvs?? This Target is a bust. No parking and very very small .....with a limited selection and high prices. Might be ok for people on foot, depending on what they need. Otherwise there is really no reason to go. On a positive note, the security guard who greeted me upon entry was super nice, friendly and helpful. Maybe they should make him manager. read more

Suggestion: get clothing and shoe basics. I feel like I should be able to run in there and get rain boots or a hat if I'm desperate.
