Pretty Cool Bloomingdales Department store is located in a beautiful 900 shop building with other stores like J.crew, in the 900 building shops , there is a Toy store on the sixth floor and the Canadian Hotel Franchise connected to this 9000 shopping mall "Four Seasons Hotel "any, how the Gucci store is right downstairs inside the 900 shopping mall Right across the street from the 900 buildings shops on Michigan Avenue across there a Louis Vuitton store and Robert Coin Jewelry store and down the block there a Neiman Marcus department store to the south I believe, there a Teuscher chocolates -swiss store inside the mall building 900 shops mall, anyhow back to bloomingdales big shout out to Alex in the men's floor at the "Allsaints Boutique inside Bloomingdales " I was with my cat in my pet backpack, he was so friendly and helpful and a couple of people who I didn't get there name at sunglasses section on the first floor, there where very helpful when I was trying some Designer sunglasses on. I was on the ladies' shoe floor, and I'm surprised I didn't see any Saint Laurent ( Y.S.L) & Jimmy Choo, or Valentino Pumps/High heels ( Designer shoe section at this location ). I'm from New York I've seen Designer shoes at the Flagship store on 59 Street & Lexington Avenue, Manhattan, They do sell Saint Laurent (Y.S.L) & Jimmy Choo or Valentino Pumps /Heels which I witnessed with my eyes, I guess these location probably does online orders with Designer shoes Selection !!!! I came to Chicago to enjoy a wonderful weekend with husband and friends. Blooming dale's was at the top of my list! I haven't been to Chicago since 1995! Once in Bloomingdale's I was looking at crystal and other fine items. As I continued through the store I spotted the store manager. As he walked by me he avoided eye contact. I said 'Hello'. He walked by me close enough to almost brush my shoulder and said nothing. I proceeded to another department and spotted a clerk. He walked towards me again avoiding eye contact. I said "Hello ". He turned to me and said "Oh, hello" and walked past me. I'm feeling invincible! I watched bothe the sales clerk and manager go to two different young couples that looked like Barbie and Ken. The said "Welcome to Bloomingdale's, may I help you find something?" Infuriating! I have been profiled. I was ready for a pleasant experience and to spend lots of money. But they judged my wallet by the way I looked. I am worth a few million dollars and was ready to spend some of it! Most fragrance consultants are unprofessional, rude and possibly racist. They treat you differently on how you look like if your money is not the same green as everybody else. Mediocre selection, and testers are often empty. The values of the fragrances are good as they offer extras and reward points. read more

One of the few department stores where the first floor looks just as elegant today as it did back in 1989 when I first saw it. Typical upmarket clothing and shoes. It's also one of the few stores that has a full-floor household department. They also have a large children's clothing and toys department. Great Men's department--mostly casual, some formalwear. You won't find overly trendy or extremely expensive labels; for that, go to Neiman-Marcus. The only thing they don't have is a good Men's shoe department; for that, go to Nordstrom. Located at 900 North, this Bloomingdale's does not have a great selection of women's clothing, and sizes are limited. Also, several SAs were just standing around and were not offering any type of assistance. Note that you do have to purchase from one of the retail shops to get your parking validated, inclusive of Astor Hall. The sales rack are not organized, and some of the clothing is not of their best quality - we saw many articles of clothing that were snagged, had rips, or loose threads. Nice store. Living in the PNW, we do not have the same large department stores like NYC and Chicago. The selection of items are much better than what we have in here. This store has a nice men's department. A very good selection on Canali sports jackets. Living out of town I chose to have mine altered in Portland. However you can get full custom alterations of your garments. The best thing about Bloomingdale's is purchasing when there is a sale. We will be back shopping there again and again. read more

Fancying a walk in a luxury department store, I entered 900 North Michigan Shops when I saw the Bloomingdale's sign. Venturing into the beauty section I sampled the lipsticks with help from the sales associate and took advantage of the free gift offer and made a purchase. I love MAC cosmetics, especially their lipsticks so I was excited that I could indulge my weakness. The rest of the store was just as pleasant to walk through and admire the merchandise. There were lovely displays including a flower cart where a fragrance purchase qualifies you for a lovely bouquet. I would definitely visit again if I ever needed more MAC items. read more

My fiancée and I were sent the wrong item and when I when here to return it, they said it wouldn't accept it and that I needed to talk to customer service on the phone instead. Their salespersons on the floor where they sell designer clothes are so aggressive. They compete for commission so I feel like I am a cash sign as I walk through. They are unfriendly and have mean faces and if I do go to that floor, I don't make eye contact with anyone. I love the home store though, the salespeople are super friendly. read more

I have never written a negative review but I have experienced the worst customer service at the Chicago Bloomingdale's. While visiting Chicago from out of town, I bought some Chanel makeup. The clerk gave me the wrong item. I called the Chanel department in Chicago a few days later, talked with Lizette, who said she would send me a return label. She never did. A few days later, I contacted customer service and got a return label from them. I sent the item back to the Chicago store with the receipt that says I have 30 days to return the item. It is now 4 weeks later and I just received the same wrong item in the mail with a letter saying I only had 14 days to return the item - but I have the UPS receipt that shows the store received my return on the 14th day after I purchased it. I have spent close to an hour on a chat with main Bloomingdale's customer service and they will not assist, suggesting that I send it back again. I am so frustrated by this - I will never buy anything at Bloomingdale's again and want to alert others to avoid it as well. read more

Bloomingdale's level of service is far and above any of their closest competitors in Chicago. It is such a delightful experience shopping here. I had a watch repaired and also picked up a gift and all the associates with which I interacted were friendly, courteous, and more than happy to go above and beyond to help me accomplish what I needed as quickly and painlessly as possible. To say that I am impressed with Bloomingdale's is a bit of an understatement. I have been looking for a frying pan for a few months to replace a Scan Pan which I loved. I've been to many competitors and was disappointed what was out there. I was helped by a very pleasant and knowledgeable salesperson, Durwood "Dug" W. Dug helped me distinguish which pan would work best for me. He patiently went over cleaning instructions and general care & use for an expensive Staub enameled, stick free pan. I was very impressed that Dug really knew his inventory and the pros & cons of the different manufacturers. Next time we know to stop at Bloomies and see Dug first. read more

I am so lucky I leave close to Bloomingdale's. It is a great department store for all of my needs. The big beautiful store inside a very stylish mall, is always clean and organized. I think that lends to it's aesthetics. It makes it so easy to look around and find what I am looking for. The staff is very helpful and quite knowledgable. If I am looking for something specific, I can count on the sales person for assistance. On the rare occasion I need to return or exchange an item, the staff is very accommodating with that as well. The bottom line is Bloomingdale's is my go to department store for basics, special occasion items or gifts. read more

Convenient for guests here in the Four Seasons Hotel. I went into Bloomingdale's and received the worst customer service from the makeup artist from Nars. She was very impatient, condescending, and had the nastiest attitude I had ever seen. I couldn't wait to get away from her. In an emergency situation needing make up she told me that I cannot return the make up items The way that she treated me lingered on throughout the night. She told me she was a highly skilled make up artist that she's been doing it for so long but she does not provide bridal make up, it was just very uncomfortable I just couldn't shake off the vibe of how this woman could be so awful towards me. I went back to Chanel counter where a lovely lady by the name of Ellee I actually took every single item that I purchased from the woman CiCi from Nars and I sat down and got an incredible make up sit down with Chanel I explained to Elle what had happened to me and another make up employee said they knew who I was talking about because apparently that's how she is with everybody I was able to purchase a pair of Chanel sunglasses with no problem I went to Nespresso I exchange the Narrs for Chanel cosmetics I had a nice time in Bloomingdale's. But I do think management should tell her at Nora's that if she's having a bad day she should probably take the evening off. read more

The staff at the ground floor in Bloomingdale are not friendly at all. One of them African old lady was rude and talking negative with the fellow staff member. It was quite evident that she didn't want no one to attend me, assuming I may not make a purchase. For a matter of fact I did made a purchase, but staff members like her shouldn't make people feel uncomfortable by staring in a negative way and followed me wherever I moved. My purse was not inside an MCM box it arrived in the dust bag only? Please advise as I wasn't expecting this and I need the box for storage purposes. I reached out to them via online chat and asked them to please call me as your IVR is hanging up on me and I might want to return this purse if I do not receive the box it's supposed to come inside of-- not just the dust bag. I actually use my boxes to store the purses while not in use to maintain the structure of the purse as it is a collectors item. I am very disappointed considering the purse cost me almost $1000 as it's my first time purchasing MCM. And I have a collection of purses LV, Chanel, Prada, etc. and they all came in both the signature box and dust bag. I selected priority shipping as my birthday is on October 13 and I was looking forward to wearing my bag. After speaking with a Representative over the phone for Bloomingdales I was told she would replace the entire order with the box included. She explained maybe the store on Michigan Avenue in Chicago didn't have anymore boxes. But that puts MCM/Bloomingdales in a bad light with the customers who are used to purchasing luxury bags... We know they're supposed to come in boxes and dust bags. Also, the online chat... They kept disconnecting our conversation. That's bad customer service confiding how much I paid for my item. For a store (Michigan/Chicago) that sells Gucci, their cashier employees have ignorant attitudes, lazy and dress unprofessional. Always forever love my Bloomingdales! This Bloomingdales doesn't seem as posh as others. The Mannequins didn't have looks I'd die for. Everything was on sale seems like. That was a real bonus. Like most places coming back to life, customer service isn't a priority. We ended up just shopping in the shoe department because she seemed like she wanted to be there and was enjoying finding us some great finds. She was very helpful and offered so many options. She had first hand knowledge of shoes and products. Her advise land offers of shipping shoes was really creative as well. Not trucking it through the airport with bags of shoes was a smart idea. I hit up the windy city last week with nearly a full day free to explore...and, travelling with a 20-something gay man in tow, I'd been informed that we would be hitting Michigan Avenue. A quick Yelp search on the morning of my flight confirmed there was in fact a Bloomingdale's at 900 North Michigan. When I arrived, I walked into a Harrod's-like Mecca of a hallway where 5 floors of happiness stood before me. I was on a mission to find a pair of DV flip flops that my local store didn't have in my size (normally, FYI, I don't fly 800 miles to shop), which I secured. I then browsed the free people and all saints collections and picked up a cute pair of leggings and a cashmere sweater. Voilà! Glad I packed light, because I'd just added a new outfit to my business trip canon. Also noteworthy is that I traveled light (read: didn't bring my Bloomingdale's card), but they can look you up with a driver's license, so I was able to put my purchases on my store account without schlepping the plastic. read more

Bought a jacket from them for $$$. They forgot to remove the security tag. Had to drag it back and bounce through departments for them to be able to remove it. Then walked out of the store and they called security on me for stealing the jacket I already paid for. 11/10/22 I shopped at the Michigan Ave location. I wanted some sneakers that was on sale on their website. I asked the salesman for my size, tried them on and proceeded to purchase. He rung them up and the sale price didn't reflect what was on the website. I showed the salesman the picture.. he took it to his manager and they debated it's not the same shoe.. The price was $550 on sale for $330..I looked closely to the details and for certain.. IT WAS THE CORRECT SHOE. The manager of the shoe department was very RUDE AND NOT CUSTOMER FRIENDLY.. She YELLED THAT'S NOT THE SAME SHOE.. Once again I pointed out the detail and they finally acknowledge. Manager was very rude and ghetto.
