This Target is not far from my home. It is one of the larger name brand anchor stores in the shared parking lot of other retailers and restaurants. I believe it is a medium sized store of their other chain stores out there. It's a great place to shop for household items and foodies. Most of the time, it's a pretty clean store. Sometimes, lots of people come through the store and makes it look like a train wreck. ( I truly feel sorry for their employees ). I like their picture frames, bedroom/bathroom decor. I also like finding road trip snacks from here. They have also have come a long ways in their online business. I can always find the quantities I need online. If you're also sending a "care package" , it's nice to shop the online option and send directly there. I like this location. Very nice and helpful employees. Convenient location with ample parking. I can always find what I'm looking for. ( and MORE ). They also sell gift cards if you'd rather give that as a gift. read more

Like any Target this one always seems to be busy. There aren't enough registers opened so be expected to wait. A huge plus about this location is it's somewhat organized. The parking lot outside on the other hand is a jungle. Good luck finding parking because it's a busy store. read more

I checked the shelves I did not see the shampoo.I asked one of the associates who was working on the spot to help me from there back-stock . he wasn't helpful and he told me sorry we're out . after that I saw one of floor manager he was walking and I asked him if he can helping me , He went to check the shelves and did not find anything and he told me that sorry we're out of stock! I love the location of this Target, conveniently located in the popular area of Elk Grove, nestled in a plaza among many other stores, including eateries nearby. Optical department is the best here, great team of doctors and staff. They are friendly, thorough and efficient. Drive up experience here is also great, never have to wait long unless it's during the holidays. However, I noticed this Target tend to be out of stock more often than other locations. This store has consistently given me trouble. Any form of return, is a hassle. Whether it is an online or in store purchase. Staff does not wish to assist. Price matching here is a problem. They also overcharge for bags when I use the drive up order. On every occasion, I am being charged for 10 bags, when I often order diapers and no bags are given to me. There is rarely a manager on the sales floor. The local number is basically not functioning and no one ever answers the phone. Skip this store and try to order online through target.com. It's unfortunate that this is the only Elk Grove location. It could really use improvements. read more

I would give them no stars if it was possible. I went there today at 5pm for my drive up order. It take me 20 mins to arrive and when you order drive up, it alerts the employees that you're on the way and their computers will show the approximate time of your arrival. 20 mins. When I got there and parked, i noticed five other cars already parked and waiting. Okay, understandable. Then my phone alerted me saying the order had been picked up. Not trying to panic, I saw the guy rolled out the cart with orders. None were mine. There were 6 other cars so I understand. He then went back inside for a second round and instead of going back to where he left off (which was me) he started all the way at the end of the parking lot again. When he got back to me a second time, he asked for my name- again and again he told me he doesn't have my order. Okay. Wow. My kids are getting impatient and fussy in the car. So when two gals came out with a cart, still my order wasn't there. And they walked off, avoiding me. I couldn't even talk to them. Now, I'm calling the store, it's 5:46pm, the store wouldn't pick up. I've tried all the options, to the point where I know which number is for which dept. SAD. Okay they're busy, fine. I go home WITHOUT MY ORDER. No I did not enter the store because I do not want to bring my fussy kids inside while I'm infuriated. I went home and decided to call the store again. I've noticed that this Target is well organized compared to other stores. The employees here are also very nice and helpful. Don't forget to download your Target app for cartwheel discounts and deals! The Target app also helps you locate items that your looking for. It will tell you what aisle it's in and if you scan it, it will tell you if there's any good deals going on for that item! You don't even need to look for a price checker anymore! Just use the app!! I looooooooove Target's dollar spot! I always find something for my son, things for my classroom, or a "just because" small gift for my friend's kids. I went to this Target yesterday and found some really cool felt books for $3 each! They were well made, engaging, and interactive. Well worth the $3! I was also quite impressed with their $1 flash cards. I got one for colors/shapes, numbers, and the alphabet. I really liked the alphabet one, and used them with my 10 month old son. The great thing about the alphabet cards is that it shows you the uppercase letters AND the lower case letters (not all flash cards are made this way). Yesterday, I really wanted to get some swimming diapers for my son. The Target app showed the swimming diapers were in stock at this location. Although, I walked around 4 times in the baby section and couldn't find them. There was no associate around to help, so I rang up my items without them. Worst Target ever! Never fails, everytime I have a return the line is huge and only 1 person at the register.

Ahhhh, the joy of going in to get 1 item but coming out with 20. I'm sure everyone else experienced that when going to target once in their life. I like this particular target because it's so close to other stores and shopping centers. I know they tried to re-arrange The shoe and female clearance clothing isles are a pretty hectic and messy. makeup foundations are unorganized, you'll have a difficult time finding your color match. Example if the display shows 220, you'll find 210, 110, 250 instead. You'll have to find associates that work at other departments to ask for help, and most of the time they can't assist you because it's not their department. Remember to check end caps to find possible clearance items, but be sure to make sure food items are not expired Cashiers are a hit or miss when it comes to being nice. read more

about a month ago i ordered online some makeup products. They came in the mail and when i'm opening my pomade eyeliner, it firstly isn't the right color? i wanted Jet black and the one i received was Dark brown. Great area to eat at. The store proper, though, is very messy, with half-opened packages of clothes or garments strewn about on the floor or shelves. The times I visited, the dressing rooms were out of order. It's otherwise a good place to shop, I guess. read more

The customer service here is good. A girl named Jasmine helped me to locate what I was not able to find. She was very helpful.

This past Monday morning I was leaving the gym and was in desperate need of some coffee, and I also needed a few groceries, as well as a new toaster. I instantly thought of my local Target would cover all of these items with one stop shopping. First stop was the Starbucks where I was given a reward punch card for brewed coffee purchases. Next stop toaster aisle where I found what I was looking for. Then the grocery section where I found all of the items I was looking for plus more. Prices were still not as cheap as Winco but competitive. Of course I had to look at the new ladies swimwear but I fought the temptation to buy items that I didn't need. I have been to this store many times over the years as this location has been here for a long time! I have to admit I didn't realize how clean, brightly lit, and how items are so nicely displayed through out the store. Best of all so clean and I love their smooth running, easy to maneuver shopping carts. Check out went smoothly and the cashier was friendly and made small talk to the customers. After my last nightmare experience in Walmart I am going to start stopping in at Target more frequently. read more

This target parking lot is always filthy. Carts everywhere and not nearly enough trash cans. The restroom is usually in good condition but today one of the toilets wouldn't flush. I have so much respect for how hard they work here to keep the toy section organized only for more children to come along and destroy it again. Great selection of toys though! read more

I used the Target App to pick up an item I ordered and I love that we can do it now! (Yes I am kind of late to the game) It makes shopping that much more easy. The kind lady that helped me out at customer service made the process super easy. You just open up your bar code and have them scan it and they'll bring your order right out! I like that they offer drive thru pick up now with COVID. However there's an automatic $1 bag fee hold and they will refund you later and it's 10 cents per bag. I've refused bags when they come out to give me my order but still get charged anyway. Lesson learned and just shop inside! Returning things always take a long time. There'll only be one register open when I see 3 or 4 staff standing around the registers and there's a line forming behind me. read more

Positives: an absolute gem in Elk Grove during the first time I ever visited this city. Very diverse community (surprisingly, even for California), vast parking lot, good customer service, good traffic flow since this city has less than 200,000 people, and lower tax rate at 7.75% than other cities in CA. A very bad experience over at Best Buy I came over to target to look for a screen protector I had the target website open I know what the item was that I wanted it said that it was available and in the store I stood around for a few minutes I waited two of the customer service agents were more busy talking to each other than looking at me and offering me help I went over to both of them one of them who was on the ground looking at wireless headphones talking about how he wanted to own a pair , I walk up to them both very nicely and asked very kindly could you please help me locate the liquid screen protector and I show them on my phone that Target had them in stock they both looked at each other and said I don't think we have those anymore well then another looked at me and said I'm pretty sure we don't and Then they turn back to each other and kind of continued the conversation I stood there for a few seconds I said well thank you so much for all the wonderful help and left. It's no wonder why big box retailers are doing so badly they have terrible customer service and Amazon is squishing them on margin and selection. read more

This target location is very convenient. There is also a Starbucks inside which is a 2 for 1 for me. The employees are always kind and there is a good selection of just about everything (clothes, food, bath items etc. I rarely have to ask for things from the back or a different location. Target is getting a bit pricey but I like to pay for convenience and quality. read more

This target is the worst!!!!! Unprofessional!!! Employees complaining and cussing and the manager accusing me that it's my problem when their machine won't run my card as credit. That I should as a customer already know how to work their machine with my debit card. I am so upset, I was given two different gift cards for $50 for my 55th birthday in May by 2 different people and another one from someone else for Christmas for the the same amount that was purchased from this location and all 3 cards had a $0 balance on them when I went to make a purchase, which was super embarrassing as if I was a scammer. Along with that, when I informed the Manager of what happened she was really nice about it, and said this was something that had been happening but there wasn't anything they could do about. She told me to call the Target 800 number to file a claim and I did but it took month and a half to receive each gift card in the mail. The last one I mention I gave it back to the person who gave it to me so they can handle it but I told her, I was thankful for the card but because it was a Target card I was traumatized and afraid to use it, but gave to my husband to use and low and behold it happened again.
