This Target has straight-up security staring you down as you enter from the mall corridor. That's because this place needs it. The people who go here are totally unsophisticated and bring their problems and bad habits with them. As others have mentioned, the shelves aren't always stocked timely, things are out of place, and people don't apologize for getting in your way. You just get stares or timid looks, which annoys me even more because then I think you have no education. The Target here is two stories, which means twice as much shittiness. The cart escalator is reminiscent of Ikea, but this place is a long shot from Ikea. At least Ikea has 0.99 cent breakfast choices and meatballs. There is an intense heat that emanates from the electronics section. This is because the televisions are on 24/7 without a break. The radiation is too much that I actually skip this department altogether. This was one of the first experimental Target's-in-a-mall concepts. And that's where it needed to remain: as a concept. To bring this abomination to life is comparable to giving birth to Satan's child. All the filthiness of society gather here and make the place a very unpleasant place to shop. God, please bring a Savior and close down this Target! I can only cringe when I picture people coming straight from the new Costco to here. Lakewood Center is a total landfill. read more

***This is a pretty big Target with a good variety of merchandise across many areas--clothes, food, personal hygiene, home items, kitchen items, and so on; this Target is also 2 stories and is located in a mall (the Lakewood Center Mall) so it is not as easy to shop and transport big items to your car as most Targets*** The Lakewood Center Mall has its own free parking lot. Target is like my Disney and this one officially sux ass! Ok so big deal it might have 2 stories but their selections are just wack in each department. I went thru both floors and it was just sloppy. The only "Ok" department was their produce/frozen sections oh that explains why... there were 2 red shirt employees unloading and organizing all products Ok right when I had enough to go pay for my 3 items the lines were up the yay! Out of 20 registers you have 5 open? This can't be serious! While standing in line I was peeking at the candy...but wait what candy? Mainly all the boxes were empty and who knows where the rest of the merchandise was since no one cared to organize and stalk up I hate this Target and it stinks like dirty diapers ;-/ read more

I bought 2 game units a PS4 and an Xbox One as a Xmas gift. Wasn't sure which one they wanted since they are so hard to buy I bought both just to make sure. I asked the clerk in electronics that was cashing me out and I asked what's the return policy on these he replied "90 days" I said oh ok. He then said just make sure you keep your reciept. Fortunately one of the relatives surprised the kids with one of the game units so I needed to return the one I bought. Unfortunately right after Xmas we had a family emergency 6 hours up north and had to take an emergency flight out. We got back a few days later and went to return the game units I bought. We got to this target and first the African chic questioned us on this return even though we had the reciept. Then she gave me an attitude. She looked at the reciept and then opened the PS4 to check it. Then went to scan it and said oh I cant return this its 2 days over and I said no it hasn't been 90 days yet. She said our policy has changed. Then she started to open the xbox and I told her to stop if she wasn't going to return it. I said now it's open what am I supposed to do with it. She said sell it on ebay..... wow really! Called manager explained the situation and he too said I know we have a lot of people complaining about the new policy and no warning for the change. I'm now stuck with two game units I don't need. Very unprofessional and don't know how to handle customers. I have stopped shopping at target and so has my friends. Have now devoted all my money and time to Walmart haven't had one issue returning anything and their associates are friendly and respectful. Plus I save money since all Walmart merchandise is $2 to $5 cheaper if not more...... read more

Honestly, I prefer the Cerritos Target if I'm doing a hardcore Target run. But since I live literally a stoplight away from this one, it gets my business 90% of the time because sometimes the jaunt up South St feels soooo far. (First world problems? You bet.) The first time I came to do a big shopping involved about 5 escalator round trips while I figured out the layout, but once you get a handle on it you can forgive them for just trying to make the best of the old Montgomery Ward building. (Dating myself? Maybe. But my grandma loved her some Wards.) The mall location is its major convenience, but also its major drawback. Specifically mall traffic, both in the parking lot and the store. There's a lot of empty shelf syndrome, mostly because I don't think I've ever been in this store when it wasn't packed with people. Also, every time I go some dudes try to get me to sign various petitions right next to the "No Soliciting" sign. The irony is vexing. My folks use the pharmacy at this one too, and the vast majority of the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful! There's a few exceptions, but the awesomeness of everyone else cancels it out. I dig $4 generics instead of still paying the full insurance copay. read more

My sister and I bought our parents a tv with my sister's target credit card and we picked it up yesterday.My parents went back today to exchange it for the exact same tv because they received a defective one but had to pay the difference that my sister received as discount for using her target card. Ridiculous! Is this target policy? Next time we purchase a big ticket item as a gift we'll be going to Costco so our friends and family don't have to pay for their presents. Hey, I'm just using up my gift cards and checks etc. on some overdue necessities so, what better place to go get new bath mats, rugs, couture's and a toilet lid cover than target. I went up stairs, pulled out the Carson Kressley Genes and started in; not that hard since I had taken a heterosexual decorator pill before I left so as not to go overboard and start buying Toilet Tina's and all that crap. Mary was great at check out and we gabbed a bit; so nice to come after all of the spawn and buyers have retreated into dept consolidation classes until next year. I love Target, and as such have garnered a pretty high expectation of Targets in general. This one did not make the cut. I dropped by with my friend Andrew R. per the recommendation of staff in our usual Target. Our usual Target was out of stock of a grill on clearance, but told us this location had them in stock. The grill was indeed in stock, but unfortunately wasn't on clearance. We asked for someone to come price check the grill so we could determine if it was actually discounted or not, and were told an employee would be sent to the grills momentarily. Nobody ever showed. After a good 15 minutes of watching employees walk by without even a glance, our impatience won and we loaded the grill into a cart and went to the front lanes in hopes that we could get a price match with the price from the Signal Hill Target. We were met with a "No, it's not on clearance here yet. Try coming back another day." There was no offer to take the merchandise back for us, which we had to do ourselves. Outside of the frustrating grill situation, the store always seems to be crowded and/or messy. Usually Target is a zen place for me to peruse all the aisles and enjoy my time, but this particular store only stresses me out. BOTTOM LINE: If you just need to pick up something quickly, this Target will fit in a pinch. However, if you're in need of a proper Target shopping session, do yourself a favor and drive to a different Target location. read more

**REVIEW IS SPECIFICALLY FOR THE PHOTO CENTER ONLY** So I had a photo I needed to be printed and I happened to be in the area, so I thought I'd give the photo center in Target a try. The photo center is in the most random area in the middle of the store , and I had to hunt for it. When I arrived, I find 2 booths, both of which were occupied by Target employees (one was training the other). I stand there like an idiot before the trainee asked me politely if I needed to use the photo printing booth, and I said yes. The trainer turns around, gives me an annoyed look, says "You can use this one", and then proceeded to start working on the booth the trainee was using. I needed to print a 5x7 photo, and it seemed like they had that option because there was a clear sign advertising the 5x7's being on sale. When I started using the booth, there was no 5x7 option shown on the screen, I wanted to ask the trainer, but she was too busy with her back to me. Again, I stood there like an idiot for a good minute before I went "Excuse me, sorry to interrupt, but how do I print 5x7's?" She turned around looking all annoyed and went "It'll give you the option later" and went back to her training. (Well, exccuuuuuse me!) Sure enough, I chose a random photo size, and later on I had an option to enlarge the original size I chose. There is no way anyone could have known that. Anyway, that was my experience. Unfortunately I was too miffed to catch her name. Had she simply even said "Let me know if you need anything!" before she went back to training (and not given me those dirty looks), my experience would have been completely different. But nope, she decided to represent this location in a rude and condescending way. Will be avoiding this location from now on to avoid this lady's evil demon stare. read more

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this Target already! It's a nice target, it's really big, 2-story and pretty well organized. I like the 2-story factor, it makes it actually easier for me to see where everything is and where I want to go. The place is well maintained and clean. No stuff piled in the aisles, etc. It's connected to the mall which I guess can be good or bad depending on your preferences. Parking is also mall parking so that can get a little hectic. Otherwise, the staff is friendly and helpful. I'm a fan. read more

The store was a complete mess when I visited this evening, and I didn't see many employees cleaning and/or organizing. I went to three sections only - women's clothes, shoes, and baby. Every section was disorganized and trashed. There were items everywhere, and it looked terrible (like a child ran up and down the aisles grabbing everything and tossing it on the floor). The checkout lines were a disaster, too. There were a lot of people checking out, and there were not enough registers open. I only wanted to purchase one item, and it took forever to get rung up. My item was the only thing that gives this location one star - the cutest onesie at a great price! Other than that... I don't think I'll be returning to this Target. read more

Just awful. Went in to get a few plain Hanes colored men's tees. I don't think that there was a single shirt where the shelf tags said they'd be, and only 3 mediums to be found. Finally found some packaged in the underwear section (also not where they were signed. ) Clearance racks were totally unshoppable. Stuff just thrown all over the rack. Waited for 10 minutes to check out, but listened to 3 employees totally ignoring customers discussing when their breaks were. This store is an embarrassment to a company that I really like. read more

Update 11-24-19 Don't know if i can do another review, but I went to target today and was helped out by Robert again (same guy from above review) and he never fails to give us an awesome experience with his great customer service! We were at the self checkout and he was able to do a price match for me with no trouble at all. He even said we were cool because he told us a recent experience he had when he helped other customers and went above and beyond for them as well, but they weren't content and kept trying to milk it and didn't care if he would've got in trouble for it. I just told him they were asking for tooo much, and that I was very grateful and appreciative of his help! Love seeing when he works there, and especially like it when he is the associate that helps us. More associates should be like him! read more

I am very disappointed because every time I come to this target it is always very dirty. Today I spoke with Hannah at the Self Check Out to let her know about the dirty restrooms as well as all of the items all over the floor within the aisles, she said she would inform someone about my concerns and when I watched her express it to another coworker named Janet, Janet chuckled and made me feel that the mess is normal and that if I don't like coming to this messy target then I should go to another target instead. Very sad and hope the employees at this target will one day take pride in this store. I will sadly need to go to the Norwalk or Cherry Target moving forward. read more

I went in to purchase Pokémon cards with my son and daughter. We used the self check out line and my daughter brought her purse. She's 7 years old and she saved enough money to purchase these cards. She put her purse down to take out her money and change and an employee without asking my permission rummages through her purse. If the employee would have asked me, I would have shown her there was nothing else in there. As I left the store I feel frustration and feel like I need to take this a step further and report this. read more

I enjoy shopping at Target but this one... I tend to be the person who brags about how cool this Target is because they still have the Popcorn and most others have taken them out. On three occasions I have gone in to get diapers the shelf looks EXACTLY the same without the diaper brand and size I usually buy. Last time me and another customer asked for help no one ever came to assist us. Restrooms are ALWAYS a mess, just filthy. I'd rather hold it and go home just not to go in. At least they have toilet paper in both occasions I've needed to use it, soap... don't count on it. We are now in late October over and the small children's pijama section has YET to be stocked with winter items, most clothing is all over the place. Shoes are always all over the place and hard to find sizes or styles you need. Hard enough I recently moved but as this being the fourth time I visit, it is not easy finding the items you need. read more

This is my go-to Target when I need something and can't stand to set foot in Walmart. The employees were clearly taught how to zone properly (I used to work for Target, so I'm picky about things being where they should be). The overall cleanliness of the store is great, and I rarely find that something I need is out of stock. The few times I've called ahead to inquire about something, I've had people on the phone who actually know what they're doing, and don't act like I spoke to them in Swahili. The fact that it's connected to the mall and in the same vicinity as Costco makes it a total plus. I would have given it five stars if it weren't for the parking nightmare you always experience when going there. But it *IS* the mall, so all things considered four is pretty darn good of a score! read more

This location is my local target . I went in to target with my infant and 11 year old daughter last week to return an item that was gifted damaged. I didn't have the receipt because it was gifted to us at a gathering we had(late baby shower due to covid). I noticed the girl that helped me didn't have much customer experience neither the manager. I've worked for customer service for over 7years . The girl kept making excuse after excuse as to why she wasn't able to exchange the item for a non damaged one. I would've kept the item but because of the damage it was unusable. I understand it's difficult to return something without the box or receipt but it's not fair when targets product come in damaged and your local store doesn't want to take responsibility for it. Vey disappointed with both employees, especially the lady manager in charge that day all she did was gave me a customer service number making it difficult for my self. On the other hand the target at Long Beach was great a nice employee named James at the Long Beach location made it easy for me and helped me exchange the item !! When it comes to discount department stores, Target isn't my first choice. But, when I need something that I know I can get at Wal-Mart (but don't feel like driving there), I go to this Target store at the Lakewood Center Mall. This Target store occupies space in what used to be a Montgomery Ward's store. The Ward's store was two floors and therefore, this Target store has two floors. This store, like the one in Seal Beach, has a good selection of products in just about every category INCLUDING an expanded grocery area. Their prices are comparable to Wal-Mart; however, I did notice that in a side-by-side comparison, in a few cases, Target has higher prices than the same items at Wal-Mart. The most recent one I recall is a can of bug spray which I found for a lower price at Wal-Mart--AFTER I bought the same product at Target. I've purchased a heavy-duty document shredder and a computer home network broadband router, both times using Target gift cards. :-) I like how this store is clean and well stocked. There is also a snack bar area on the first floor near the checkout area. Additionally, this Target store has a full-service pharmacy. All the employees I've dealt with are courteous and helpful. The fact that this store is attached to the mall is a BIG plus. :-) read more
