Incredible Austin Optometrist Dr Hansa Huang at Eye Heart Vision is one of those people! I have worn glasses/contacts for 25+ years. I was in the military & moved multiple times and I have probably seen 10+ optometrist over the years. Hands down Dr Huang is the best! Not only does she take the time to explain everything about what is happening with your eyes but she is extremely diligent in regard to finding the perfect perscription. To the point where when I first went to her 5+ years ago she identified a medical issue not a single other optometrist had. She also has AMAZING "bed side" manner. You aren't just a dollar sign that comes through the door. I HIGHLY recommend her to the point where I drive 30 minutes to come see her yearly. Store at 18700 Limestore Commercial Drive, Pflugerville, TX. if they made a mistake they blame the lab. My prescription was altered and I was told they were unable the use the numbers in the material chosen. Why they changed numbers and assume they will be good for you? probably the customer service girl sent the wrong info? After 3 weeks of waiting they have problems checking for the order that was ready?. No organization at all. Right away i told them something was wrong. Unable to see well. Answer: try them for 4 or 5 days if not ok bring them back. Looking for the best options and been very patient with their computer system (horrible) they told me to get the prescription to someplace else. VERY RUDE manager and assistant. I need my reading glasses so I decided to get just the reading and try to get the distance for a better price someplace else with people better trained and no so RUDE. So basically, the manager of the store told me that these frames had the correct prescription, when in fact they didn't. I felt something was off, so I went to my optometrist and had them see what the prescription on the frames were and they were my old prescription. So in summary, Target Optical charged me $200 for lenses, and 2 months later, I didn't get my lenses, I got charged $200 without giving me my new prescription lenses, and had my insurance burned for this year. read more

HIDDEN FEES: I came in for a $10 eye exam using insurance. Dr. Nguyen was very nice and it was a pleasant experience. She suggested i needed a retinal scan as I mentioned i have diabetes. I said sure what can it hurt. Then once I went to pay I was quoted $45. $10 for eye exam and $35 for scan. I was NEVER told it would cost extra, let alone an extra $35. All I need were screws for my glasses. If you wear glasses and loose a screw, you know how desperate I was. Since it was a Sunday, options were limited. Target was open but there was a wait. Quite a wait. Found a seat and got comfortable. There was only one person servicing the store. She was a champ. Taking the time to each customer to see to their needs. Not once did she let an impatient customer cut in line, knew who came in and which order. When my turn came, she took my glasses in the back. Just a cash grab. My kids had pink eye and I caught it too, I called to have eye drops called in. The manager was very unhelpful, she kept repeating that they hadn't seen me since 2022 so she couldn't help me...yes December 2022 and it is now May 2023 (less than 5 months since my last appointment). In the short time that I've been yelping, I've generally been more interested in reviewing locally owned places vs. chains because that is where I tend to take much of my business. However, my experience at Target Optical recently took me by surprise so I decided to share it. It was an accident really. I'd popped in there looking at frames because I needed some sunglasses and my husband was busy having a geek fest over in the techno/electronic department. As entertaining as it can sometimes be to watch my husband get totally ecstatic and have a geek attack over some alien gadget that I've never heard of or seen before, I wasn't feeling the geek love at that particular moment in time and I opted not to participate in the festivities. So.....I wandered aimlessly over to the optical shop. To be completely honest, I didn't really think I'd find anything because I was looking for something nice and stylish, and I had it in my discriminating little mind that I was only going to find what I wanted in some optical boutique. I stand corrected. The nice woman who works there, Carleigh, was very friendly and laughed at all my jokes. So at that point I'm up to 3 stars and I hadn't picked out my frames yet. Then she helped me look for something that would fit my style. I knew I didn't want hipster glasses (I'm not hatin' on hipsters, but I'm not in my 20s and I don't want to be a fashion statement from the early 90s, thank you). I also didn't want the huge Jackie O glasses that are as big as yo face that some of my gal pals wear. I wanted something a little less overstated, but in style nevertheless. In short, they had exactly what I was looking for and Carleigh helped me find it. In fact, I found two pair that were perfect, much to the chagrin of my pocketbook. (Having said that, their frames are reasonably priced for the brands they carry). I expressed surprise that Target had so many stylish choices. She informed me that the optical shop is actually owned by the same company that owns Ray Ban and Oakley.....so if you need some stylish specs, give Target Optical a go. read more

I am dusting off my little-used Yelp account to post this delighted review about the Target Optical at Lakeline. I had to switch recently because I need gas permeable contacts AND glasses and could not get a prescription for the contacts at my local Pville location. I had great service at the Pville location but I was a little nervous about switching, mostly because with huge chains the product is consistent but the service can be really unpredictable, and with something like glasses, service is really important. I shouldn't have worried. The optometrist there, Dr. Hansa Huang, was fantastic, and her staff was very friendly and on top of things. And when I went next door to the optical store, it was the same experience. I have a fairly tricky prescription for glasses and it took a while to get everything done, but through the entire process, they were just the best and ensured that I was totally happy with my glasses. I worked with Rosie and Robert and another gal (Kristin? Sorry if I got that wrong!) and they were all friendly, professional and accommodating. One thing I would warn folks about: This place is pretty busy. During my couple of visits, the phone rang all the time and they got constant walk-ins. I really don't know how they maintain their poise and friendly attitude with so much distraction, but they really do. For customers, I would say: set time aside to get this done. They give you all their attention while they are taking care of you, but they do that for everyone--So that means you might find yourself waiting a while for them to finish taking care of someone else when you first walk in. read more

Surprisingly my exam with Dr Anonetapipat was the best eye exam I have ever had. She is very smart and asks all kinds of questions no other Dr. has asked me in the past. I got to try 4 different brands of contacts to decide which was the most comfortable for me. Truly a great experience. I wish all Dr's were this involved. I did not have vision insurance - exam cost was around $100 and 3 months worth of contacts were $70. A good price too! read more

I will never use target optical online again and will tell anyone i know that they are terrible. I ordered on June 21st and have been calling since then (today is July 24th). no one could give me any information. finally last week i asked for a supervisor. No one was available so they were supposed to call me. no one called. this week i called again and again told a supervisor would call back. no one did so I called again this is the 4th or 5th call i've made. I didnt give the customer service rep a chance to talk and said that I needed a supervisor now. so when the supervisor FINALLY got on the phone and said Hello I laid into him. He said "i was out last week" I said "you're the only supervisor?" "yes ma'am" he comes back and says "it shows the order was canceled on June 29th" WHAAAAAT? I have bought four pairs of glasses here over the last six years including some Ray Ban sunglasses which got sat on. I heard there was a repair deal between Target and Ray Ban so I went over today. They guy working, Tim, was terrific. He said there actually is no such repair scheme or channel while looking at pieces of my former polarized prescription glasses I laid out on the table. I asked several pleading questions about repairs but he said I would probably just have to buy new frames. He then went to the back and quite wonderfully found something to help me among the forgotten and broken frames. He remounted my lenses and I walked out with great new frames and a smile. Best customer service I've ever had. I ordered contacts and 3 weeks later I never received them. I called and not only did they overnight them but they were also nice enough to give me a free pair of trial contacts so that I didn't have to where my glasses on New years eve. My outfit thanks them. They were so nice and accommodating. I also did get estimates at 3 other lens places for my glasses because my insurance only covered my contacts. Hello, do not get your glasses here at target optical Lakeline Mall. Two years ago I bought two pairs of glasses at the same time. One of the glasses worked out really well, could see very well & I was very happy with them. The other pair there was always something wrong with him. It just wasn't right. I would come and have them adjusted they would work on them. But something was never right. I recently saw the optometrist. The words out of his mouth were "do not wear this pair of glasses again. They are wrong for your head and way too small and they have been adjusted incorrectly causing you to have bad vision". Although it's been two years I did ask Target to do something about it and they said no. I realize they have their policies and I get it, but they should've done something about it when the doctor says something is wrong with a pair of glasses Target sold to the customer. The lesson here is if you have any problems with glasses, you need to ask your optometrist for a follow up to see if your glasses they sold you are okay. Lesson #2, don't buy two pairs at the same time. Most places only have a 30-60-90 day policy. You may not realize that the other pair is not right. Also it's problematic if you buy your specks at a different place than your eye doc's shop. You will probably have to set up a second appointment to check if your new glasses are okay. This was my first time at this location for an eye exam, and I have to say, it was the best vision exam I have experienced to date! First, making an appointment is so easy, I was able to do it online, without making any phone calls, in about 2 minutes. The office staff is so on top of it, they had already looked up my insurance information for me prior to my appt. When I arrived for my appt, the woman at the front desk was very friendly & helpful. I had a basic vision exam, as well as a contact lens fitting, for a total of $105, which is $60 less than I paid the previous year at a different opthomalogy office. My appt was at 11:30, and I was called back at exactly 11:30! A doctors office that actually runs on time... That never happens! Dr. Huang is very friendly, thorough, and explains everything she is doing in an easy-to-understand manner. She was very patient and I felt relaxed & comfortable taking my time when deciding which lens I could see out of better. One thing that really impressed me, which no opthomalogist has ever done for me in the past, is Dr. Huang had me try on several different pairs of contacts, so that I could choose which ones worked best & were the most comfortable for me. This made a huge difference! I now have contacts that provide the best vision with the most comfort I have ever had! The exam didn't take long at all, and I was in and out the door in about 30 minutes. I will definitely go back to her & recommend to all my family & friends to go see Dr. Huang! After my appt I immediately went to the Target Optical store to purchase new contacts. The staff there were so incredibly helpful & friendly! The woman helping me was able to find me a 30% discount on my order, which is a HUGE savings! I've never been able to purchase contacts at such a great price! They also adjusted, tightened and cleaned my glasses for me while I was making my purchase. Pitiful. Just pitiful. Please be advised, this review is for the corporate entity and its policies not the hourly employees. As my previous review states, they've always been helpful. I recently learned that Target Optical is owned by Luxottica which owns all of the individual brands that it sells. Ever wonder why glasses and sunglasses cost the same as your smartphone? Because of Luxottica. The company marks up the price of their project 20x to that of the cost. Which is downright wrong but not the cause (at least not entirely) for my low review. I purchased their extended protection plan. I turned in some "Made in Italy" Ray Bans after an accident that broke them under their plan. I've purchased these specific frames for years because of their durability. What was returned to me a few weeks later were some rickety, cheap feeling "Made in China" Ray Bans. I voiced my concern immediately but the salesperson was lost for an explanation. She gave me Luxottica's number as they are the ones that own the protection policy. Hours of hold time and after being passed to various nincompoops, I gave up. The glasses fell apart on my face a month later. DO NOT SHOP AT TARGET OPTICAL. Their product quality is abysmal, their protection plan is a scheme and aside from the hourly employee eagerly ready to clean your lenses or sell you the worthless merchandise, there is no customer service to speak of. Try Warby Parker or Zenni optical online. read more

I contacted the Target Optical center about a week and half, or two weeks ago. I wanted to get a copy of my prescription another pair of glasses and I am out of contacts. The girl who answered the phone told me she did not know the optical section's procedures and could not help me. She gave me a number to the Dr.'s office to call instead of the optical center, but it was disconnected. When I called back, she refused to get me someone who could answer my question. Eventually with probing, she took down my call back information to get a call back with the information needed. I never received a call back, so I called customer service. Customer service promised I would get a call back from the optical center with someone who could help me, and a 10$ off coupon sent via email. I received neither. I emailed the customer service line again a week ago, and received no response. I will never return to a target again. this is beyond crazy! I really liked the optometrist, but if I can't access my prescription then what is the point in using you? read more

I bought a pair of glasses on Dec 9th and when it was Dec 17th I got a text message from Target saying that my glasses was ready to pick up. The same they I went to the store and for my surprise they said that the glasses was being delivered to another person the day before the 17th. The employee didn't try to help at all and made me call my husband to make sure he didn't pick up them after I told her a hundred times we didn't pick up the glasses. They said they would order another pair of glasses and I needed to wait more. I left a review on google and someone called and said that the glasses was in the laboratory and in a few days they would send the glasses and part of the money I paid they would give me back. Well, I called the store on the 28th and asked them if the glasses was ready to pick up and I was told by Esmeralda that they didn't order the glasses and I need to wait 3 weeks for the to be ready. I said to her by phone that I was going to the store to see what the heck was going on. So when it was 7:30pm she called and my husband talked to her and she was nasty and was giving him attitude and asked if we wanted to order the glasses or not. We went to the store and the same employee was being an asshole and I asked her to give my money back because at that point I was very disappointed. So, when I bought the glasses on the 9th they didn't give a receipt and I told her that, I do not have a receipt and she refused to give my money back. Right now I have no glasses and they kept my money. The manager of the store never talked to me and never called me to give me a solution. This review is for Dr. Huang from Eye Heart Vision, the optometrist's office that is located next to the Target Optical store. I have been to many, many optometrists throughout my adult life, but none have been as patient, efficient, and informative as Dr. Huang at Eye Heart Vision. Dr. Huang took the time and effort to explain every step in the process of my eye exam for both contacts and glasses. During the part where they try different lenses and you have to pick between "1 or 2? 2 or 1?" and so on, she was calm, clear, and it was the first time in my life when I wasn't stressed out about choosing which lens looked clearer. I was most impressed by the digital retinal exam machine. After the adorable machine scanned my retinas, Dr. Huang had the high-resolution images on her computer a few seconds later. No eyedrops and no annoying dilation were required! Dr. Huang went over the digital images with me, explaining what we were looking at. She explained that those images allow her to see tiny changes in blood flow, tumors or problems and saved them for later comparison. At all of my former optometrist appointments, traditional retinal exams were not captured in a photograph, but instead recorded in my chart with written notes and drawings. Knowing that Dr. Huang can access and compare actual images rather than drawings is reassuring. Plus it was amazing to be able to see what she sees inside of my eyes! When it came time to find the perfect contact lenses for my very sensitive eyeballs, Dr. Huang went above and beyond. We tried two different brands, one in each eye to see which one fit most comfortably throughout the day. Before, I would just buy whatever my doctors would recommend, but being able to try them out and decide for myself was really appreciated. I was so impressed with my appointment, that I even convinced my husband to schedule an appointment with Dr. Huang at Eye Heart Vision. I found myself thinking that if and when we have children, she is the doctor they will visit, because she was so kind, assuring, and enlightening! read more

Great service here! I came here because it was one of the few places my insurance covered that were actually affordable. Last year when I got my glasses, the staff was super helpful and patient with me while I tried on literally 50+ frames. They explained all my benefits to me and answered all my questions. The other day I stepped on my glasses and bent one of the arms. I brought them in and they were not fixable but still replaced them for me completely, even though my warranty was over! This was really awesome considering how expensive glasses can be!! All in all, I don't think you will be disappointed if you go here. This place kicks butt!! Immediately felt welcomed by the two employees. They made jokes, that were actually funny, and comforting. Felt like they enjoyed their job and having us there. While waiting the man even volunteered to clean our eyeglasses for free, and let us know that after a one time charge of only $5 for lens cleaner, they will refill it for free for life! We were in LensCrafters just before coming in. We stood around in LensCrafters for about 10-15 minutes without an employee even speaking to us. This location carried the same lenses we found at LensCrafters for less!! I don't think I will ever go to another eye doctor. As a first time buyer of contacts, the visit cost $150 without insurance. The doctor was extremely friendly and informative and the visit was quick and painless. The assistant took her time to show us how to put in and take out contacts, and gave great tips and advice. Dr. Huang is a very caring and knowledgeable doctor. She took the time to explain every step in my exam and for the first time I understood what all the machines are doing. She was very patient with trying different lenses and always made sure that I'm comfortable with my choice. I love it that instead of dilating you have the option to use a machine that takes about 3 minutes vs waiting 20 min and having sensitive eyes the rest of the day. Let me start off by saying, I've been wearing contacts and glasses since I was 11. Needless to say, I've spent my fair share of time at various eye doctors. While I've hopped around to Lenscrafters and Visionworks and any other place you can find in a mall I've never had a bad experience by any means, but nothing to write home about. Enter Target Optical. My experience here from the actual doctor appointment down to picking up my new glasses today has been fantastic! Dr. Huang is lovely, she was so patient with all my questions and concerns with my allergy eyes. (Moving to Austin from Phoenix has not been kind to my allergies) She explained everything she was doing and why as she was working, which I loved. I moved on to pick out new glasses and order contacts, where I met Robert who I believe is the manager. He was patient while I tried on every pair in the store, and gave me honest opinions on how they looked. He found me discounts I didn't even know I could get (like through my car insurance! What?!) and was so chatty and friendly while working with me and training someone at the same time. A week later, today, I went to go pick up my new glasses that I was oh-so-excited about. In my excitement, I didn't pay as much attention as maybe I should have while trying them on. I spent the next two hours at home near panicking because I thought I was doomed to life with heavy glasses falling off my face every time I looked down slightly. Internet searches led to being tempted to use a hair dryer to melt the plastic slightly and trying to reform them myself, but I was not about to end up with ruined glasses I hated. I drove back, and even though they were closing in less than an hour, Evelyn and Rosie were so wonderful and fixed my glasses to fit. I felt awful rushing in an hour before close, having worked in customer service for so long I know the feeling of that last hour trickling by and a last minute shopper taking their time, but not once did they seem like they minded. I apologized and thanked them both more than I can count, because I really did appreciate it, and they just insisted that that's what they are there for. DO not go here!!! My experience with this place has been awful!! First, the doctor (the Asian woman) did not put the correct prescription for my glasses, so I had to go without glasses with no back up for two weeks. Also, one of the floor employees (an older woman with short hair) was extremely unprofessional and racist: making a comment that "all those dot heads need to go back to their country." Then she told me not to tell anyone she said this! Then, after purchasing both prescription glasses and sunglasses, the screw in my sunglasses broke and the lens fell out. I had them fixed 3 times in the store before asking them to replace them. They refused since it has been after 90 days, regardless of the fact that I have always kept them in their case and they have never been dropped. It is clear that they were poorly made even if they are DKNY. Basically I have no choice but to purchase an entirely new pair, and I guarantee it will NEVER be at target optical again. read more

Target Optical has been absolutely horrible to me. If I could choose 0 stars, I would have. I ordered my glasses 2 weeks ago, they came in on time (9 days later), but one of the lenses had scratches on it. I was told multiple times that they would be sent back priority to be re-made. Today I was informed by another employee that I was lied to by the first one and that they do not do priority and that they never have. I have gone 2 weeks without being able to see and when I expressed my frustration I was patronized and talked down to. I will never do business with Target again. read more
