After many years as a patient of Dr. Yonkers, my time with this office has come to an end. Over the years, I have always respected and appreciated Dr. Yonkers as a physician, but unfortunately the experience with the office staff during my recent follow-up visits has been extremely disappointing. The staff seems to change frequently, and this current team appears disorganized, unprofessional, and lacking in customer service skills. In just a two-week period, I encountered multiple issues that I had never experienced before during my many years with this practice. The staff was not helpful, not welcoming, and unwilling to go above and beyond for longtime patients. Had a great experience. The person I booked the appt with, over the phone, was really patient and sweet with me. I was navigating my new insurance plan for the first time and she was so helpful. The appt was fairly straight forward. Check in was nice, the gals at the front desk on Friday were super sweet and attentive. Doctor was great. TSO would not give me my contact lens prescription EVEN THOUGH I paid in full at time of service. According to Texas Contact Lens Prescription Act and federal law, TSO is required to do so. https://tob.texas.gov/faq/... I would ascertain that the office is following TSO policy; it just happens that their policy is against state and federal laws. I have reported TSO to Texas Optometry Board. I've been wearing contacts for 45 years and I've never heard of such a thing. read more

After being a patient for over 7 years, sadly I can no longer recommend this location. Bad Management. I can highly suggest that You Definitely DON'T want to purchase from this location. Losing last years $180.00 payment for a pair of glasses that they literally 1 forgot to place my order, 2 they order single vision glasses next instead of bi-focal, 3 they then they ordered them to be tinted, instead of fade in sun light, this all proved to be a To Bad for You Frank that their staff screwed up your prescription. What I later found out is they were having Employee Problems at the time and if I only knew. I landed here by mere luck and glad I did. The staff at this location was great very helpful and went above and beyond helping me out. I usually wait the normal 2-3 weeks before glasses or contacts come in and in less that a full week I had them both. The manager and sales staff were awesome and so easy to talk to. Dr Yonker was very informative and recommended what would be best for my vision. This is where I usually get pitched with some type of sales tactic but instead was pointed into something that could correct my vision issues. Great Doctor of Optometry. Knowledgeable, personable. Office Team very customer friendly. My appointment was close to noon so one of the office team was out for her lunch break-The young lady who also assists with the optical department and the equipment portion of the exam-(the preliminary stuff) handled the front desk with the incoming patients, the phones, and greeting etc. until the other young lady returned. The Optometrist did my eye photos and measurements himself as his assistant really could not leave her post while flying solo-- to perform them at my particular appointment time. There's a wide range of lenses and eyeglass frames to choose from. They are a little on the high side compared to discount stores but they do have several selections that start at $139 for the frames and they have many options on the lenses so you can get the very highest grade carbon lenses or you can choose something a little less costly. They do take many insurances and they do file them for you so that's a huge benefit. I'll be going to pick up my new glasses in about a week and I'll follow up at that point. If you have any medical issues they also will take you and see you for those and they will bill your insurance on the medical side and they do accept Medicare-.I will clarify but I'm sure that diabetics would be covered under Medicare for their services. Dr. Jefferey Yonker, a sweet, gentle, knowledgeable, and helpful doctor who genuinely cares about his patients. He's very honest and upfront. I love his team, they are all very kind and helpful. I called his office multiple of times as a new patient and Dr. Yonker and his amazing team are always ready to help. The vibe here is very welcoming. I have been to this dr 3 times he has always been very rude and condescending his staff is no better. Had the dr listened to what I had been tell him there would have been no problems. I do not recommend them. The glasses they helped me pick out for my son were too big. They then helped me pick out another pair (they were even bigger). They told me I could keep the loaner pair which had plastic in one side. The short story is-I came back another day to pay to have a glass lens put in the pair given to us. I was told by someone who worked there that the manager sent them back to the company. It took many many phone calls to get a return call before this. Weeks of not hearing anything before glasses would come in. The last time, they didn't return my call when I asked why she sent the glasses back when they had given them to us.This was the worst experience I have ever had. We have one pair that is way too big now. We went online and spent $200 for another pair that fits correctly. read more

Wife's been coming here for over 4 years. Made an appointment online this year for the week of Christmas while she's off, showed up and was told that it must've been a glitch because her appointment wasn't in their system (even though she had a confirmation email). Today is Thursday, they said that their next opening wasn't until Monday. Somehow, they felt that it was better to watch her walk out the door than try to squeeze her in. I wanted to give this TSO five stars. However, after a great exam, very friendly and fun staff my order took a huge step sideways. I bought two pairs of progressive glasses. It took almost three weeks for the second pair to get finished. I also ordered readers. I wanted readers with good lenses. They gave me glasses for someone who is farsighted. Then claimed it was what reading glasses are. They were impossible to wear with contacts, which is why I needed readers for work. I was told I'd have to take out my contacts everytime I needed to do computer work and then put the contacts back in to do anything else. I was argued with about what reading glasses meant. I explained I wouldn't need farsighted glasses if I wanted to wear glasses I'd simply put on my progressives. It took ten minutes of arguing before the Manager got on. While the Manager tried to handle things, she is inexperienced in how to solve problems. They did replace the lenses in my reading glasses. However, even though I can wear them with contacts, they are horrible quality and everything is wavy. I've had to go back to another pair since the new readers give me a headache. For spending over 2000.00 dollars on three pairs of glasses and contacts this is unacceptable. I called to try to see the office tomorrow and they are closed early and won't be back until Monday. Mistakes happen, that's not what I'm upset about. It's how mistakes are resolved that matters. This team doesn't like to deal with customer problems and indeed they try to blame the customer. As soon as I get my money back for the readers, I will be hunting for a more professional Doctor's office. I have never left a review on yelp, and I don't want to. But, for as much money as I paid out of pocket, the attitude and customer service is bad. The Doctor is great, his staff needs training. read more

First visit was great. Exam went as expected, Dr Yonkers was very nice and professional. But today I went to pick up my glasses.. My work hours are the same as theirs so I asked my work if I could leave a little early to get their before 6. Traffic was a little heavier than expected due to construction so I was running behind. I called five minutes before my arrival time to let them know I was coming to pick up my glasses. I pull up right front of the door at 6:01. I immediately see them flick the lights off as I'm walking I up to the door and I run up to try the door and it's locked. Not cool... I saw Dr. Yonker to get an eye exam and be fitted for contacts for the first time; I'd never had them and I was nervous about putting something in my eye. The exam was super thorough and the office seemed to be more high tech than the ones I've been to in the past, and very clean. Dr. Yonker explained what the differences are in contact brands and told me which one might work best for my specific type of astigmatism. While passing through Cedar Park, I stopped at TSO to get an adjustment on a pair of glasses that I bought in a different TSO location. A young man named Johnathan helped me, and he was terrific. Johnathan (sorry if the spelling is wrong) put new, softer nose pieces on my glasses and then carefully adjusted the glasses, getting rid of what was an annoying pain. He did not charge me, even though I would have happily paid for the relief. One of his co-workers even helped us out by recommending a great barbecue joint almost next door. If you live in, or travel through, Cedar Park and need to buy glasses or get yours fixed/adjusted, I highly recommend the folks at TSO. read more

I went to TSO looking for glasses. My Rx is a high power so I specifically requested assistance finding the thinnest lenses and a frame that could help conceal the thickness. The tech seemed helpful at the time. I spent over $600 in hopes of getting the thinnest lenses available. Two weeks later my glasses came in and the lenses were incredibly thick. They hung far outside of the frame on either side. I asked for a refund but they explained that I was only entitled to 50%. Its my fault for not reading the fine print. I also feel like this is a major point that should be verbally discussed with customers. They wanted me to give them over $300 for trying and getting it completely wrong. If I had known that upfront I would have gone elsewhere. Basically after going back and forth they agreed to give me 80% back and I agreed. Hopefully the $130 they kept is worth the business they'll lose from negative reviews. read more
