I haven't done much comparison shopping, but I'm pretty sure my costs for contact lenses + replacement lenses for eyeglasses were lower than I've paid elsewhere. I have United healthcare vision insurance through my workplace and the staff went over to the process on how to get a reimbursement which is very easy. All in all a great place to go to if you ever need an eye doctor.

My experience with Dr. Ephraim was 5-stars across the board! He was timely, there was never any waiting, and it was overall an extremely pleasant, easy process. There was no puff of air (argh! thank goodness), yet he had technology that I've never had used on me from other places that was able to show detailed digital images of my eyes and its cones, etc. He prioritized both the health aspect of my eyes as well as the accuracy and optimization of the prescription which was exactly what I was hoping for. There was no pressure to buy glasses or contacts from them, which I appreciated. Dr. Ephraim was also super-personable and funny, and his staff was efficient and professional. I paid out of pocket because I didn't like the experience I had elsewhere, and it was worth it, but he does take multiple vision insurance providers. I'm always a bit nervous visiting new optometrists or dentists because I've had negative experiences with being pressured or upsold. Not so here. It was a very pleasant and straightforward visit. I had a very thorough exam, and the fees were clearly explained to me with no pressure tactics. Dr. Zhang was very professional and friendly, as was the staff. My office visit was $135 which is way less than my GP charges my insurance company. He is professional and caring. He never rushes or brushes off questions you may have. He is a Georgetown graduate and has lots of pedigrees adorning the wall of his waiting room. Washingtonian magazine likes him too. He has been on the Top Doctors list many times. Parking can be a pain with the construction going on down the street that takes away many of the metered spots. There is a lot behind the office that charges $5 for the first two hours, but it fills up quick. I had an 8:30 appointment so I had no problem. I plan to stay with Dr. Baum. He is worth every penny!

I liked Dr. Baum b/c I got an immediate appointment, & he was so friendly. For 15 minutes, my appt. was $110.
