This is one of the sadder looking targets I've been to but that might just be the general set up for most retail stores in Portland. Coming from out of state I was surprised to see all of the private security and nearly everything including toothpaste (aside from kid's flavored) was locked up. We stopped by to get some basics and I actually saw some nice featured collections, which I can't always get at my local Targets because they run out of stock quickly. I was able to try them on in the fitting room and complete the purchase as usual with the RedCard. We found everything else fine given the easy layout compared to other locations. read more

IPS guards are some of the most aggressive and rude security persons I've ever encountered. Target is the usual place I find them at -- blocking customer egress, scowling and intimidating customers, etc. I brushed up against one earlier while entering this target location (he was standing directly in front of the target entrance) and he immediately became confrontational and barked at me to "not touch him". Okay, maybe don't block the entrance then? Baffling that any store thinks it's a good idea to employ these folks while they intimidate and harass their own customers. read more

This target is set up in the most inconvenient way possible. As a mom I like to get in and get out. There are two floors which you think would be cool but when I'm trying to get snacks for the week on the bottom floor and then need to get a shirt or clothes for my kid it's on the second floor. You forgot something upstairs ? Welp I hope you find it again and it takes under 10 minutes to go get it again. Also the security there is intense and intimidating for the little ones. She refused to ring us up because our basket looked like it was more than 10 items without even counting. Came here with my wife and it ended up being 12 items which we could've done 2 separate transactions if she wanted to be that strict on it. Two story Target located at Mall 205, which is a cluster of stores, not a Mall, so set your expectations. It's a pretty basic Target but they do keep it clean and well organized. I've been coming here for many years and have never had any issues or bad experiences. On the first floor, they have the most common items. Health & Beauty, greeting cards and paper goods, school supplies, kitchen & small appliances, jewelry and accessories, electronics, clothing, seasonal, and even a small grocery area. For its size, they do stock the items you need to pick up regularly. Fresh fruit and produce, lunch meat, pantry items, bread, snacks, drinks, even beer, wine and hard cider. Target has their own brand, Good & Gather and the food is tasty and very reasonable prices. For example, you can pick up a pound of low sodium roasted Turkey lunch meat, that has two individual packets inside, for $5.99. It's tastier than any prepackaged Turkey and is a regular purchase for me. I'm always picking up limes, lemons and onion while I'm there. Children's toys are upstairs. You can take an escalator or an elevator; carts go separately on the escalator. In Health & Beauty I pick always up Pantene Shampoo and conditioner, Crest toothpaste, Q-tips, Jergens body lotion - all prices better than other stores. Their toilet paper and paper towels are more expensive though; I can always find at Fred Meyers for a few dollars less. As soon as you walk in, there is a $1-3 area, as all Target stores have. It's always worth checking out. Surprisingly, there are always useful items. Also love the accessories. Always find on trend scarves to kick up an outfit. And winter scarves and hats to keep you warm. Fun, inexpensive fashion jewelry at their Bauble Bar, usually knock offs of designer items but for under $12.00. During Covid the staff is constantly cleaning and sanitizing. And there are always employees walking the aisles so it's easy to get help if needed. Lines move quickly. The Starbucks and the cafe were closed when I was there yesterday, due to Covid. When open, it's hard for me to resist their hot pretzels which are buttery and sweet. Parking out front is plentiful but sometimes frustrating with the one way aisles and angular parking. This isn't my usual target but when I'm in that area and I need something I can only get at Target, like their Champion brand athletic wear, I stop in and check out my favorite departments. read more

It's a big box store that has lost its customer service skills over the last few decades just like everywhere else. It's now understaffed thanks to presidential problems and the fact that CEOs can't think for themselves about how to best serve the communities that make business possible in the first place. With these kinds of problems and global warming and other supply chain issues, I've had issues finding products that I used to buy regularly. weirdest target i've been to , security is up like hell lol, speaker in the parking lot about how they're recording and two security guards in the entrance on their high horse lol i didn't interact with them they just stared the hell out of me it was weird. and there's no self check out it took a whole 10 minutes of waiting in a slow ass check out line to get out with only 5 items. set up was different than any other target i've been to too, selection was decent. a ton of stuff was locked up behind glass doors and im sure it takes another 10 minutes to get anyone to help u get items out. prices were as any target would be, too damn overpriced. picture of my cat to make ur day better read more

The other day I went in for cat food. The sign showed on sale, so I took a pic of the sign just in case. She said it wasn't on sale and in the wrong place, and couldn't honor it. The entire shelf was full of this same item. I decided not to get it. When the transaction was over the cashier accused me of 'snatching' the invoice from her hand. I was so confused. I had a long line behind me because it's Christmas time. I was trying to not hold up the line. I was friendly to her and was so confused. The ppl behind me were also confused. It was like she was trying to start a fight. I left feeling a little butthurt because I would never do what I was accused of. Target uses SHIPT To shop and deliver products. Since my purchase couldn't be shiped USPS I used SHIPT for the first time for $9.00 I was told it would be delivered between -6-7 pm, then I was told it would be delivered between 8-9pm She showed up two hours later, sent me a picture of the front door she left the package, I went to the door but it wasn't there I looked at picture again and realized it wasn't my door. Ive called corporate and SHIPT and was told that I was out of luck. Dispute it with my CC company. I posted on FB with my neighborhood page to ask anyone if they have my package. But as of now a day before Thanksgiving I am out $400 and two christmas presents I will never shop with Target again . read more

I used toblove this Target, but it's gone way downhill. Theft is such a huge problem that there are more loss prevention employees wandering around than actual clerks, and there are about 20 registers, but I've never seen more than 1 or 2 people staffed at checkout. Why bother having so many registers if you aren't going to pay employees to staff them? And I understand the theft issue is a much larger conversation that requires the city to actually start addressing the houselessness crisis, mental health, and rehabilitation services, but that's an issue the city needs to address. My biggest issue is that this has also bled into apathetic employees (I don't blame the workers, however. You guys do your best and should seriously unionize for better pay and benefits for what you have to put up with), huge swathes of empty shelves, and expired goods all over the place. I have informed people several times that products were expired only to have the same expired products sit on the shelves. A few weeks ago I handed an expired box of peanut butter cups to an employee at checkout, the candies had expired in August of last year. The employee just put them in a pile of things to put back and I found them on the same shelf the next week. Today, we did a pick up and go order and several of the food items we received were already expired by several months, and will need to be returned, including the same Atkins peanut butter cups that I'd already reported as being expired TWICE! Target clearly doesn't care about checking expiration dates on food items, and has no issue selling goods to consumers that could make them sick. If you shop here, be wary of what you're buying, and please check the expiration date, because no one else seems to be, and no one seems to care if it's gone bad. read more

They keep this place clean by making sure each cart and basket is well sanitized. The bull's eye is great to find seasonal deals and everything seems well organized here. It's my first time seeing a two-story Target, which I understand since it's the city with limited space. Everything is well stocked and I was able to find what I needed. The 2nd floor had all the electronics, baby stuff, and toys. The first floor had all the cards, hygiene, food, and decor. Who doesn't love Target? Really impressed by this Target location. I recently moved from CA, and the Target near my home (Clackamas) hardly has anything on their shelves, inventory is wrong, and order pick-up has also failed (says it's ready when they can't find my order). I wanted to buy a gingerbread house for my daughter, so I placed a pick-up order at 7 am. Literally 30 minutes later (at most!), I received an email saying my order was ready to pick up. I was amazed that they were that efficient! I headed over there a couple hours later and decided to go inside to pick up my order instead of using drive-up. I was pleasantly surprised to see no lines at the order pick-up/customer service. The person helping me was friendly and promptly came out with my order. I glanced around the store, and it was neat and orderly and the shelves looked fully stocked! Although this is a little further away from my home, I'm definitely going to be using this Target location more often. I need them to be quick, efficient, and dependable, and they check all these boxes so far! read more

This used to be a perfectly fine Target. Today I abandoned my basket for the first time ever, after waiting in line for 10 minutes for the self-checkout. It was the busiest time of the week and they had two checkout lanes open, each with 10+ people waiting, and three self-checkout kiosks (one is currently broken) with 20+ people in line. Other reviews comment about the barren shelves. The thing is, you can see that those items are in stock. I know the stock counts aren't always accurate, but you actually can order these same items for pickup. I have never had my pickup order cancelled due to lack of stock. If I go in the store to try to find those same items, it's a total gamble, and one I lose more and more. I suspect they just don't have enough employees to put the items on the shelf. The shelves behind lock and key are always full. You might think this proves what a great policy it is to lock items up. Actually, due to the lack of employees, customers have simply been trained not to bother and to just get their detergent and Advil somewhere else. We all know that shoplifting is a problem, but the answer is not armed guards decked out in tactical gear that I'm sure looks super cool to them when they flex their arms in front of the mirror every morning. I once left the store while a guard shouted, "HAVE A GREAT NIGHT AND ENJOY YOUR STUFF!" I and another customer turned around, and she explained, "Oh, not you guys. That lady stole a bunch of stuff and it's been happening all day. Sorry." Okay, that must be really frustrating, but what a relief to know I'm right next to someone with a hair-trigger temper who's armed with a deadly weapon. Here's what's known to reduce shoplifting: staffing your store to an appropriate level. Figure out how to do that, and maybe you'll attract more customers than shoplifters. I'm sorry to the employees who had to put back the couple items I left in my basket. You deserve a lot more pay. read more

Had to place a pickup order for this location as what I wanted was not available elsewhere. My first time visiting this location. Easy parking lot with plenty of spaces in a strip mall. First impression was a heavy dank smell in the air that hit me as soon as I opened the car door. The entire parking lot up to the entrance seemed to smell. I only went so far as the pickup area. I didn't even make it to a counter. A Target employee asked for my ID which I showed. I waited a few minutes and just looked around the area, the Target itself seemed to be as any other in terms of cleanliness and stock. The employee returned with my item in hand, no bag or receipt. I guess no bags in Oregon and email receipt. For me it felt very odd to be handed my item in front of everyone while not even at a counter. I had to find a spot to put my item down to get my reusable bag out. I'm curious how do they handle pickup of say 10 items. Do they hand you 10 loose items? Would have been better for me if I was just served at a counter and not standing in line. I left and waded again through the odd people outside and heavy parking lot smell to my car. Rarely do I leave negative feedback and if I do I try to find a positive however after this most recent trip with not one, not two, but 3 negative experiences with 3 different employees at this locations I feel this review is more than warranted. I have been to this location before and I will say it's definitely one of the least nice Targets I've been to, but as somebody that's worked in customer service my entire life I am beyond disappointed. Bad experiences with I believe the name was Alex, working at customer service/returns and exchanges, as well as Barbara at the cash register. Barbara did not give me the deal that was advertised in the Beauty section so when I went to rectify it in customer service, Alex was not helpful and very cold about the mistake. In stead of honoring the price that was listed of only 3.99 after making me wait in two different lines , she preferred that I return everything which was about $25. This isn't just about the $4 or wasted time and the mixup on their end, but the horrid customer service/ how it was handled ensures that I will never again return to this location. This Target severely needs better training for their employees because it's always been poor, but this was just exceptionally disappointing and I certainly will not be back. read more

I have to give it 1 star to write a review, but I give it ZERO! The worst customer service. Picture it, a Sunday afternoon about 12:45. You have your basket filled and go to check out. There are no cashiers only self-check out. When I as a man that works for Target explaining that there is a very long line (about 15 people in line on both sides). This Target is real bad. Their inventory is constantly terrible, full of empty shelves lacking basic things like socks and Target gift cards. It also has the problem (common these days) of locking stuff up to prevent thievery, but not having enough staff to unlock the cases for you. read more

This location is just okay for me. I don't really care for the two story stores...I always seem to forget something I need upstairs and end up having to make multiple trips :-/ The cart escalator is pretty cool, but I really prefer to be shopping on one level. I don't usually like shopping at strip malls or malls either...they tend to be too crowded and the parking can be horrendous during the holidays. Immediately when we walked in we noticed a man in full camo uniform, bulletproof vest, and two weapons strapped to either hip. We immediately felt uncomfortable and wondered why Target felt like they needed armed guards within their stores. We were shopping for a graduation card on an end cap and noticed that the man walked by us and did a double take at a couple shopping down the next aisle. I watched him say something into his walkie talkie and circled the aisle a few times focusing on a hispanic couple. When we went to check out we noticed a second guard at the other entrance. I'm making the assumption that these guards have been hired for asset protection... I just don't understand the outfits and reason for having guards with guns. Are you going to shoot someone for stealing?? I think Target should really consider the image this paints for their brand. Came in here for some last minute Christmas shopping. There had been a little ice / snow but the parking lot and sidewalks all safe to navigate. The parking lot was fairly full. So we parked a wee bit away. Not too bad. Target was really busy (Go figure. He said sarcastically. A few days before Christmas and Target is super busy? Whaaa?) but the employees all had smiles. They are just doing a job but it's nice to see people enjoy what they do or at least "having a good day". We all were hungry and got a bite to eat. We got a couple hot dogs some fries and chicken fingers. A little spendy but I was getting "Hangry". I'm no fun when hangry! Fact. We had to separate so I could buy her stuff and She needed to go somewhere and get me something. I found my item's and noticed how clean the store was. Save for clearance item's. I think that this target is going out of business. Their shelves are all half empty, and their electronics department was completely abandoned. Literally, nothing but empty shelves and caution tape over the video games and stuff. Also their mens hygiene products was nearly completely empty too. Never mind the grocery department.
