All of these years, Target is home to many products, you name it, toys, clothes, houseware supplies, and even food to name a few. This particular location is a pretty big space to navigate from department to department. For customers who haven't returned in (a couple) years, it has been renovated giving it a modern look which was needed pretty badly. Things were rearranged a bit during the process, but not too much though. Also, it's impressive to see that there are self-checkout registers at the mall entrance making the line move effectively which needed to be done. This should have been done since day 1 when Target first opened. Most departments are kept up to stock with some having very few products and also overflowing in spots. Of course, with it being a busy day, it can get messy with items on the ground, etc. Sometimes finding an employee in a department, mainly houseware can be a bit of a challenge due to understaffing. She proceeded to ignore me and stack up the order, seeing that the hatchback wouldn't close. When I got out to repack the groceries, I saw that one of the items ( cleaner with bleach was turned on its side. The cleaner was leaking and the bag was wet. Very poor customer service! Blatant Racial Profiling at Target Poughkeepsie - A Call for Accountability Target prides itself on being an inclusive, customer-focused retailer, yet racial profiling persists at its Poughkeepsie location. I have personally experienced this twice at the hands of the same employee. On March 1, 2024, I entered the store carrying only my keys and wallet, purchased less than 10 items, checked out at a cashier, and left with my receipt in hand. Despite this, I was singled out for a receipt check while others walked out freely without question. I am not alone in this experience--others have reported similar treatment at this location. It raises an important question: Why are certain customers subjected to scrutiny while others are not? If this is standard practice, why is it not applied universally? If it is not standard practice, why is it happening at all? As a well-established brand, Target has the opportunity to lead by example--to uphold its values, ensure fair treatment of all customers, and correct disparities before they become larger issues. I trust that Target Corporate will take appropriate action to review store policies, address employee conduct, and reaffirm its commitment to an equitable shopping experience for everyone. I frequent this location when visiting my in-laws and it's often full of customers. Sadly it seems like this location has also been affected by the low labor shortage because the changing rooms were a complete mess this past weekend. I feel bad for the few lingering employees there who are spread thin and have to handle so much more. There was no one manning the area when I entered and all the changing rooms were full of hangers, broken tags on the floor, and clothes all over the place. 3rd trip back to this target in the last 2.5 months. the first one, I left a review about on their Google page which was removed-- I have previously left 1 here on their yelp store listing last month. I again should have refrained from going into this store after the last 2 bad experiences w/ their 1 "Asset Protection" employee who violated my ADA rights to using the disability cart. (by the way, he did this today, too, ironically immediately after he saw my wife walk in, he began to put red shopping carts around a single electric disability scooter cart to block it off...why? He wasn't concerned w/ it until he saw her walk in ). It was almost 5:30p & the mall was closing at 6pm. I know the mall gate to target would close & I wouldn't be able to get back out to the other end of the mall to my car, & my uncle needs to have fast access to a bathroom & can't walk for long periods without rest. We both decided to go to target thru mall entrance while my wife got our car from by 110 grill & parked it in the target main entrance parking lot so we could easily leave instead of getting stuck without our car & having to walk all the way outside around the mall to our car by the 110 grill. We were at Target for two main reasons-- Christmas decor & gift wrap, & then feminine products. My wife's phone was dead so we agreed to just meet in Seasonal (Christmas are). Before entering the mall entrance to target, I saw there was a disability cart parked & I thought "great! I can ride it & not have to go to the front of the store to get one." wrong. it had a hand written out of order sign taped to it. Anyway, my 71 y.o. mentally handicapped & physically disabled uncle & I went to seasonal. I stood leaning on a 2-step ladder I found as there were no carts nor disabled scooters available at the mall entrance. It took my wife 10 mins or so at least to get all the way back to the car by 110 grill, then find parking infront of target entrance, then get the feminine products before she met us in seasonal. I was in a lot of back pain & didnt want to do anything but rest until my wife arrived. When she did, she said that the same young male Asset protection employee that we have had an issue with previously & reported to manager last time was on duty again & he noticed her as she walked in. The he then began to block access to the disability cart (which she was not attempting to use as she thought I was going to already have gotten one at the other entrance, but he must have still been in his feelings about us previously reporting him & leaving a bad review mentioning him in Sept. on Google. What an immature, petty & vengeful employee to block disabled cart. And he shouldn't be blocking it as what if someone else with disability needed it? If it wasn't charged ppl can tell, you shouldn't corral it. This target needs better disability cart charging & to either repair their broken carts, and order more as even Kingston has more working and readily charged carts). Anyway, then the 3 of us went right into seasonal together to look at Christmas items but i had overheard the female employees who were trying to set it say "we need the whole store team to help push this out tomorrow". So they're obviously extremely understaffed for the workload they have, which is probably why this store is always a hot mess. After spending maybe a whole 5 minutes in one aisle that was not even halfway set or stocked.. picking out a few Christmas gift bags, wrapping paper & bows that all were immediately put in the cart, we walked out of the aisle to go to the next one to see if they had more options, & were about to go look to see if they had any Christmas tree skirts out yet, but as my wife turned to go back to check last aisle she immediately almost ran into someone who we then realized was following her; an "undercover" female asset protection employee, wearing plain clothes with her AP lanyard on underneath, earbuds in. My wife at first didn't realize that she was being followed, & then she realized the AP had her phone out & appeared to be taking pictures of her/ us. My wife said "wow you people are hilarious". I thought she was talking to me & my uncle bc I hadn't noticed this person yet. We have never stolen anything before nor attempted to, & have never had an issue in any other store using disability cart, but for some reason, since I reported the male AP employee in Sept. for ada violation, it seems he's now got a vendetta. Also, the undercover AP was so close to my wife, easy for her to plant an item or an alarm tag in her pocket or cart to try to make a case on paper so they ca ban us or worse (it's a thing, sadly some APs will plant alarm stickers on carts to make ppl beep when they leave to make it look like someone is trying to steal). My wife said at her "you get a complaint & now you are following us? Im not buying all this here, I'll go give my money to Walmart." Target is my one stop store for everything I need, especially when I am out of town. This location is attached to a mall, and that's pretty new to me. As busy as traffic can get inside this store, ringing out wasn't long or a hassle. This location even has a Starbucks inside. PLEASE OPEN YOUR ELECTRONICS WHEN BUYING IN STORE!! I went to purchase a series 8 Apple Watch. Once purchased I went home and unboxed the Apple Watch. Once opening the box and looking inside I saw that it came with the wrong charger. I called target told me to come in to sort out the problem. Once at customer service they told me that it was not the right watch in the box it was a series 6 and cannot exchange/return apple products. Target told me it was delivered from Apple and I was the first to purchase. Note this was my first time owning a watch let alone a smart watch. They sent me on my way to contact Apple and going back and forth with target and Apple I contacted corporate target for help. The only reason I am giving target three stars is because they have still not figured out that people shouldn't need to walk across an entire store to pay for stuff. Why don't they have a second set of cash registers at the entrance/exit to the interior of the galleria mall? And there are never enough shopping carts for those entering through the mall. Other than that, I found almost everything I was looking for, there was sufficient staffing near the registers, but not necessarily throughout the store. My check out was a breeze. I opted for cashier service instead of self check out. Tip: the self check out line was a lot longer. read more

While in the Poughkeepsie galleria I went into Target to find a few things. I'm familiar with the one near Riverdale in the Bronx. They reminded me of the department store Gimbles in Cross County Yonkers. You could find almost everything there; Target does one better, they also have a grocery store inside. The place is clean, there is a variety of brands in housewares and other departments, the aisles wide enough, signage is clear and accurate, plenty of staff to assist you if you need it, check out is quick, Apple Pay works. I placed an order for pickup on n October 9, 2023. When I went to pick up my order was wrong. They went to look for the item. Item could not be found. They gave me 30 dollars in store credit. Then when they said they can do delivery I said fine. Then they gave me another 5 dollars because of the tax. I wasn't expecting this at all. I was presently surprised. I have a love hate relationship with this target location. I love that they finally put a Starbucks in but now it a must that we stop for cake pops and coffee before we leave. The store can get crowded if you come later in the day or on a weekend. I learned the hard way that I can only come early weekday mornings. I love the self checkout option. I am giving three stars for the good customer service; from the person hard at work sanitizing shopping carts, to Starbucks where they were friendly and efficient, next moving on to tackle my list; when you can find an overworked sales associate on the floor they are professional and helpful and finally Jon at checkout was great, dealing with the long lines and large purchases with a smile. However the shelves were a mess, many of them sparsely stocked or completely empty. I am a longtime shopper at Target and I saw better from other locations during the COVID shut down. My feeling is that they don't have the manpower to keep up on inventory and ordering and stocking the shelves. This store is absolutely disgusting. Half eaten food and drink containers on the displays. Garbage on the floor. It's just terrrible. Worse is the staff. The really great employees have such low morale because of managment and co-workers. The not-so-great employees don't even acknowledge that you are asking them for help. All of these teenage employees on their phones or in a group joking around. I'm sure that corporate has implemented some new management style that saves them money. You know what? Typical Target. Clean and tidy. Kids clothing is reasonably priced and always very cute style wise. I find their 2T's run small so my daughter (who is a 2T in almost every other store) has to wear 3T. I wish they had a family restroom like they have in Mt Kisco - makes going to the bathroom with a toddler much easier. Love the different sales this company has been doing lately. Satara and Charlie went out of their way to track down the animated Yoda doll I was searching for last month during the holiday season. Satara saw me searching through the isles and took the time to look up when the next shipment will be arriving and advised me what time to come into the store. When I went back, Charlie searched through the inventory boxes and all the ones on the shelf until he found it for me. Time to update those shopping carts - Target of Poughkeepsie. To stay in line with all the other shopping carts from within the state of New York, update them. You are using carts that don't conform to the Target standards - a more plastic cart with plastic bumpers around the edge, are larger than the old cart, and just look, act and feel different. Although I was astounded at first that this location doesn't sanitize all their carts when they come in from outside (and I definitely didn't notice a sanitizer station or wipes), I do like that this location stationed an employee to double-check the health of all customers as they enter (although the one I met looked at me like "Yeah, you look fine," although he stood there with masks and gloves thinking "how am I gonna get him to accept a new mask?" when I came in wearing my newly (taken out of the new package just before I entered) Uber Driver-sent masks. When I came in over the weekend to shop a Shipt order for a customer, although I found the updates in both the external signage (a pleasant sight to see) and internal signage (with signs that can be read from either side of the aisle and direction), when I encountered a wagon that just didn't sound healthy (I can't even describe its unhealthy sound in understandable typed words), I really needed to say something. However, I persevered knowing the order was short and the distance to the checkout was upcoming. Once I shopped the order and headed to the checkouts, although I was fairly pleased with the employee who directed customers ready to checkout into the right aisle (and also saw the line-split for those waiting for the self-checkout), when I got up to the register and put my stuff down (with my phone first), the first thing out of the employee's mouth is "let me get the first item scanned in". Although I'm cool with that too, it shouldn't be that way! I've always scanned my tax-exempt barcode first when using a self-checkout at other stores, and employees should be able to act the same way. I find this hard to believe that the Target Team Member's systems are this picky that they have a special order which differs from those at self-checkout! But by that time, other than the "quite normal" feel of going out the wrong door at first (which is positioned abnormally to the left of the carts), the rest of the order went over really swell, and I can't really complain much about the store - just please update those carts! I thought this was a pretty mediocre Target until they added a much-needed - and quite good - grocery section. In the grocery section, I've seen some pretty good prices on produce and brand-name items. They can be competitive. Inventory-wise, it's pretty much like other Targets. What's really weird, though, is that the Kingston Mall Target FEELS like a larger and better-stocked store (apart from groceries), even though a quick web check says the Galleria Target is 2000 sq. ft. larger. What surprises me is how lax they appear to be at the exit into the mall. There's no cashiers there, and they don't even appear to have a security guard at that entrance any more. I guess they have a reliable surveillance system? Cosmetics-sniffing dogs? Psi-Corps? I don't read about a lot of theft, so I guess whatever they do is working. read more

Unfortunately, wistfully strolling through Target, kid free is no longer a past time of mine. I would easily spent 150 to 200 per trip, 3 to 4 times a month. However, this Target has gone downhill in the past year. While I love the updates to the store, I loathe the long self check out lines and the bathrooms are just nasty should you need them. They also seem to be out of stock more often than not on the key items I buy, Like Pampers Pull ups. How do you stop stocking the number one selling toddler diaper?! Cmon now. Staff is friendly for the most part though but thats not enough to keep me coming back. The closure of Kmarts and the downfall of this location has forced me to take my business to Amazon. read more

I just moved here from Madison Wisconsin and shopped at there target all the time. This target here at the galleria mall in Poughkeepsie is super chaotic. Everywhere is a mess and clutter. Every Isle is a mess and not organized. I don't know the reason why it's so bad, maybe not enough workers because of covid or to many shoppers and the workers can't keep up but I am trying to find a different target. That's to bad though. If you're like most then you probably are a super fan of Target (I mean who DOESN'T love target?) This location never fails. I often order online and utilize their Drive Up service. You literally just pull into the spot, check in on their app and an employee will bring out your merchandise. Usually within the first three minutes of you getting there- an added plus! Yesterday I ordered on the app and qualified for a free product. When we got the bags I noticed the free product wasn't in there so I told the employee Brianna. She asked me for the product name and we checked the app for the product number and she said she would run in and check if the product was still in stock (go figure, free item with your purchase is out of stock). Five minutes later she comes out with a different color of the advertised free product (which cost a little more), which I didn't mind because it was pink and I have a daughter anyway so it actually worked out better! Target is my church. I love target but today I had very rude customer service experience. I purchase a pair of Jeggings and when I price checked the jeggings and it stated $12.60. When I went to purchase the Jeggings it charged me $18.00. Enraged I went to Guest Service and the women told me "It checks $18.00 there's nothing I can do" I argued what the price checker said and she said the same thing there's nothing she can do. I went back to the scanner and I complained to another employee and she was very nice (Her name was Hunter) she radioed the women at guest services. Hunter told me to go back to guest service and they will refund me. I went back to guest services and different women helped me and said the same thing but with an attitude "it's $18 you can either keep it or return it". In the end I didn't get my refund. More often than not, I'll swing by here for groceries. Their prices are decent, while there's a respectable selection of things. Like other Target stores, this one is very clean. I liked the Room Essentials Thermal insulated curtains (85308 10687) my friend got at Target two years ago for a descent price. Took the heating bill down to $250 a month during the winter without having to go through the expense of putting in new windows. Only issue now is that they only carry room darkening curtains. It's fairly common today to walk into a store and no one, including "the managers" have a clue where things are or how to interact with consumers--Target is one of those stores. We came in for one simple item: Mrs. Meyer's scented candles. After asking a few employees where we could find them, all of whom sent us to the wrong aisles, sections, etc. We finally went online (while in the store) and found the products and the correct aisle number.
