Order to car option canceled. Had to go in and deal with the general crazy and stupidity.

This store used to be great. It's like a third world country in there now. They eliminated their third shift years ago, so palettes and U-boats are all over the place during shopping hours and are a significant safety hazard. The shelves look as bare as the height of the early pandemic all the time, and today we waited for an hour at curbside pickup and were ignored, gave up, and left (and yes, we were signed in.) The girl handling curbside today was apparently all alone, and she was bringing out one small order at a time on her large cart, which almost seemed like a deliberate protest (can't blame her honestly.). She was managing about an order every 10-15 minutes while cars were arriving in twos every 5 minutes. After he helped 3 cars who arrived after us, we gave up. The turnover at this store makes me think that the management here must be awful, and must have been for the past 5 or more years. It's time for a change then!! I always get better service in New Britain or Meriden, the parking areas are just worn out and poorly laid out at those locations. They're also farther away... but at least I wouldn't have wasted an hour waiting for nothing. Also it probably wouldn't kill them to open more than just one of their 12 registers. Once, the standard was no line longer than two carts. That's out the window now. What a shame they've driven the place into the ground like this. read more

This is a great store. The worst store to run from is the Waterbury one. They are rude. They hang up on people. They pick up the phone and dont speak but but you can hear them in the background. They ruined Christmas for seven children. I had to cancel the party for a later date. I tried to reach out to the store Manager but was hung up on over 6 times. The male who answered was extremely RUDE at 852am on Tuesday December 17, 2024 he had the audacity to HANGUP on me and said I can't change the order to go through the app. If he only knew he would have been reviewed maybe his attitude this early morning would be different....First time experience at this location not a good sign or start. Order pickup for tomorrow said items are ready the value cost the store and his RUDE ATTITUDE at 835am. I ordered an Apple Watch 8 online. The return policy clearly says that I can make a return to my local store. The watch was a birthday present. When we tried to set the watch up, it was very apparent that it was counterfeit. The watch didn't sit on the charger and it was not an apple product. When I went to return the watch to the Southington, CT store, they refused to accept the return. I asked for the manager, Karen, who also couldn't offer any help. I find is very strange that a company who sold me a fake watch is unwilling to offer a refund. The best they could do was give me an 800 number for Target relations. I then tried calling that number and was hung up at least half a dozen times. Be very wary of the return policy! read more

This used to be my Target of choice. It still is, kind of. Although I dread having to go there way more than I used to. It's becoming increasingly more difficult to shop there. Between the crowds, employees literally in every aisle with giant pallets of product in the middle of the floor, and employees zooming around with giant carts shopping for online orders, I find myself getting increasingly frustrated. I get that shelves need to be stocked and orders need to be shopped for, but it never used to be this chaotic. I don't blame the employees who are just doing what they're told. But I would think a store like that would have overnight crews to stock when no customers are there. Did they used to and gave it up? It's so annoying (and quite frankly unsafe) to keep dodging pallets and boxes everywhere you step. On top of that, the self checkout seems to be closed more often than not and they have maybe one cashier open and huge lines. These are all first world problems, I know. But all these things added up can really make or break a shopping experience. My last gripe, is that the hand driers in the women's restroom have not been working for literally months. Not entirely sure how that could have gone unnoticed for so long. But here we are. My approach going forward is to just stock up when I can so I don't have to make as many trips. read more

THIS STORE SHOULD BE CLOSED UNTIL THEY HANDLE THEIR INVENTORY. This store has looked like this for a MONTH. If I took my child into this store and a unbalanced pallet fell that's it my child would die. This store is completely unsafe and in dangerous conditions. I couldn't even get diapers and wipes for my baby. When I spoke to the manager he just kept saying I know and nothing more about the condition of this store. This store needs to be shut down to regain control before someone gets hurt. read more

Drive up pickup takes 40 minutes. No one answers the phone in any department. Only one cashier is ever open.

This is the nicest Target in central CT. Customer service is prompt. I was in a line 8 people deep for a return, but the line only took 3 minutes. They were happy to adjust the price of my produce to the cheaper price. See photo. The store is neat and organized, nothing on the floor, or misplaced on racks. However I am giving this 2 stars Because whenever I am shopping at self check out, there is always this blonde lady who stands an inch behind me and stares at me. I have never stolen from a store in my life and it makes me feel embarrassed. Every. single. time I go to that store. She treats me as if I'm some sort of criminal. Even when there's multiple people in self check out she's always somehow an inch near me. she seriously needs someone to say something to her because I have never left a review before or said something to the store in my life, but this is ridiculous. read more

Target is my favorite department store. I love going there for my toiletries and household cleaning products. Since Target added a produce selection I make frequent trips to pick up berries there too. I'm not a fan of the Southington Target mainly because I find that the prices aren't as great as the New Britain Target. I'm located in between those two Targets. The store layout is weird. The Southington Target has a Starbucks and a Pizza Hut Express. The times I have been at the store I find that there are not too many mothers with younger children at this store and the lines are shorter. The downside is the prices are a few cents more compared to the New Britain Target. For someone who consumes at least 4 cartons of black berries each week that starts to add up. I don't like the parking lot either. There are too many dividers, sure it adds to the appearance of the parking lot but when you're in a rush you simply want to zoom in and out and you can't if you have to navigate through the maze. read more

Update May 2021. I love Target, but Thai location is always so busy and packed. However there is always a lot of staff. There is a Starbucks inside, food and item selection is good, there's also a little cafe area where you can get pizza. I wish this was a Super Target or they could put another one somewhere close-maybe Queen Street or up near the AMC theater. read more

This is officially my favorite Target. I had just visited the New Britain location a couple of days prior and was disappointed - not here! I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the store and the available selection of products, even just a couple of days before Christmas. The checkout lines were also very reasonable and I didn't have a long wait at all. It's large and spacious and the most enjoyable location to shop. read more

IT'S TARGET! Yes, I am a Target fanatic. And yes, I am one of those shoppers who 'target' the clearance areas at the end of aisles like a hawk (pun intended). Of the Targets in central CT that I frequent, this one in Southington is the one I prefer the most, though I love Target and will go to any one of them. Employees are very helpful, friendly and professional. Whenever I needed to know if a product is available, the price or other general inquiry, I always get a thorough answer or explanation. I especially love the few who will exhaust all options just to locate a product or get the answer for me! Now that's customer service. This store is always clean and well organized. The parking lot is usually not cluttered with shopping carts in random places like most Walmarts. And as previously mentioned in other reviews, this Target location has Starbucks (big plus for the Starbucks fans). The only thing that cost one star is the layout of the checkout lines, which is two registers per row. I always feel like I am cutting someone just to get to the register in the front, or I have to go down one row and do some "zig-zag" move to get to the front register that is open because a cart at a back register is in the way or there is too many people. I just think the layout of the checkout is just poorly designed. Side note for saving money at any Target (may be useful to college students like myself or others who are watching their spending): I always use Cartwheel, plus manufacturer's coupons, plus Target coupons (found in the paper, off their website or their mobile coupons), plus the weekly ad (if there is a coupon there and to get a general idea of sale items) to bring the costs down some. Also helps to have the Red Card as well. It does take some time to plan since so many components are involved, but with today's economy every little bit helps. But still... IT'S TARGET! I am not normally in this area, but I was today so I decided to stop in and pick up a few things. This is one of the cleanest, most well organized, well stocked Target stores that I've visited. The clothing was set up in a way that actually made sense and the racks were very neat. When I went into the fitting room, it was clean and there was no clothing strewn about, as I've come to expect in most fitting rooms. Unlike most Target stores that I've experienced, there were many open checkout lines to choose from. After a short wait in the express lane (I was legit, don't give me that look), the cashier was very friendly and quick. Overall, this is one of the best experiences that I've had at this type of store. Keep up the good work, Southington! read more

This is my favorite Target in CT! I frequent this Target almost weekly. First, it's my 5 year old favorite store because she loves the toy section and is in love with the little club house that kids can play in! I love it because it's literally a one stop shop for basically everything I need. I also find some treasures along the way that I didn't think I needed but definitely wanted!! I also love the set up in this store. It's better than most in the area. Their Starbucks is awesome too. A lot of seating around the corner and they usually have my favorite treats and favorite latte. I get most of my meds, vitamins, birthday gifts/supplies, candy, toiletries, cleaning supplies and cards here. I usually use the self checkout since it's super easy but when I have coupons or a gift card I go to the cashiers who are always very friendly. I've never been disappointed and I highly recommend this location! read more

Had purchased a coffee table by threshold and one of the parts was defective. We had tried contacting threshold personally, but after trying for 3 weeks and never receiving the new part as promised we returned to target in person. They were great. They took the old coffee table and gave us the last one they had in stock. They were great through it all. Wish I had just just gone to them originally; I thought contacting threshold and having a new part sent would be easier. read more

I always like taking a stroll through Target. Their snack and food section has a lot of unique items. Their prices are a little higher than Walmart's. I never buy clothers there because the men's section is so small you could miss it and the women's clothes are quite blah, not very stylish. I will continue to browse. read more

They actually used to have a couple rude cashiers but I think they weeded them out and now have some really nice people working there. They are kind, helpful, and friendly. This location is definitely prime real estate for a target. It is right off the highway and has a huge parking lot. The store is also large and I always find what I am looking for when I go in. Had my first off experience today at Target. They put coupons in the circular for $5 gift cards if you purchase $20 worth of beauty products. I made the effort to clip the coupon, go to the store, spend a half hour shopping and find out that some of my favorite products are out of stock. Not knowing what products qualify, I select several items and take them to check out. They total $72 but, not enough beauty products to qualify for the gift card. Not my fault, I made the effort but got zip of an effort from the cashier. No gift card! One of my pet peeves with Target is the amount of time it takes them to restock items. I have shopped there for simple brand names that I like and when they are out, it can take several weeks for them to reload. I am also a big Starbucks fan but service at this Target Starbucks is generally pleasant but slow to acknowledge that you are there. read more

Target Southington is the best Target I've ever been to. I recently switched from CVS to Target Pharmacy and the difference is AMAZING. The pharmacist came over and introduced herself and the staff, my prescriptions were done on time, and she even gave me some incredibly helpful advice about my medication that CVS failed to mention in the 5 years I wasted going to them. The store itself is super clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. Why can't all Target stores (I'm lookin at YOU Target Manchester) be as awesome as Target Southington?! read more

I really like this store. The aisles are nice and wide, so there's no cramming up against people coming the opposite way. The selection of each item is large and the prices are fair. They have a good coupon policy and the staff i've dealt with has been quite friendly. The store is bright, well lit and clean. 1million times better than the New Britain store. read more
