I was really terrified all my life of plastic surgery and when I was researching doctors it was…read moreeven worse because every time I spoke to an office I always felt like an agenda was being pushed or these crazy unbelievable results were being heavily pushed towards me. Offices were spam calling me back daily or bombarding me with emails like ad agencies lol. Or that typical tiktok "this doctor has THIS special technique" which felt sooo gimmicky and fake. I never felt like I really got to see PS doctors as medical providers and get to speak to them without the shiny Beverly Hills facade. Plastic surgery does have this trendy side.. i get it. But it is still a very big medical procedure and I really felt like I just couldn't trust a lot of these flashy doctors I'd spoken to... I lost around 40 lbs and I always dreamed of fixing my lower pooch area - my case is a little odd because I haven't had kids yet and am relatively lean - I was looking for a really refined result. AND zero BS. just tell me what's possible and what's not. Dr. Kim didn't take a crazy consultation fee. I didn't wait months for a consultation. He didn't try to sell me anything. His office looks and works like an actual (clean and beautiful) medical office. I never waited for my appointments. During my consultation, he gave me plenty of time to ask questions and voice my concerns. I didn't feel like I was being spoken down to or being sold a used car. Finally felt like I'm speaking with a doctor who can actually lay out to me exactly what to expect moving forward, the downsides and upsides of my options, and what was and wasn't possible. Nothing was downplayed or overexaggerated. I had never had surgery before and so I really wasn't ready to have a big procedure like a tummy tuck. I asked if there was a more conservative option for my loose skin/pooch - we settled on a mini tuck with lipo to remove a large portion of my problem area - with the door always open for a full if I ever wanted. Dr. Kim was supportive, nonjudgmental and honest about whatever decision I chose. Results - my mini TT results were BEAUTIFUL. My stubborn lower pooch was totally smoothed out - no lipo ripples or weird creases. I recovered in like 2 weeks. No infections, no broken stitches, no seromas, no hypertrophic scarring, no dead skin, just... nothing. Dr. checked in with me after surgery multiple times to make sure I was doing okay. My garment fit comfortably and I was on just tylenol by the end of day 2. My incision healed into a thin, fine line which was sooo easily covered in a bikini. Way later when I was finally ready for a full tummy tuck surgery to reach the last bits of loose skin, the ease of my decision was in large part influenced by how smooth my past experience was. I trusted I was in good hands, and I was right. AGAIN, the entire procedure despite being a WAY bigger one, was just as smooth as the first time. Drains were easy. Stitches dissolved easily. The new incision is exactly where we planned for it to be - thin, and very very low and replaced my older scar. I entrusted Dr Kim to decide whether muscle repair was needed or not - he said he will if needed, since we're already in there let's make it perfect! I am snatched lol :'D my belly button looks so cute with a little hood, it looks natural and lovely. I'm around 3 weeks out and my incision is already so clean and healing very well. At this point, I can say I have a very good idea of how Dr Kim's office works, the pre op, surgery, the follow up, as well as healing/recovery. All the girls remember me, they make scheduling extremely easy, are fun to talk to, and before and after my operation my nurse really made me feel safe, cared for, and at ease. I was given all instructions and medications promptly and on time, as well as the Dr's personal number for any issues at all. Everyone has their own experiences and surgery is a big decision which can have unpredictable outcomes. But for me, choosing Dr. kim (twice) was the best decision I made for myself. The day of my surgery, It was about a little over 10 minutes after the time for me to check in for surgery and I got a call from Dr. Smaili Brea's location that he was sick and would not be coming in. Mind you this doctor has multiple locations in Brea, Upland, and Beverly Hills. I would have appreciated getting a call much earlier or the day before not when Im already in the waiting room with my friend who had requested the day off to take me. I had requested 2 weeks off for this surgery and was told I could reschedule or wait for another doctor to do the surgery later that day. I choose to wait and I thank god I had another doctor do it but...... I ended up coming out of the surgery table with one breast significantly bigger then the other! The first thing the doctor told me was that one is bigger then the other and we would find solutions for this problem (keep in mind this doctor was not to blame for this problem and yet he was already trying to find a solution). I do not blame this particular dr for this problem, because he was extremely attentive and even apologized for this problem because I had chosen silicone implants. I was unaware that silicone implants were already pre-filled to the actual size of the implant. I wish Dr. Smaili would have been personable during our pre-op instead of giving me a short 5 minute consultation. During the consultation, I clearly remember him saying one breast was bigger then the other and he chose to go 20 cc's(the equivalent to a silicone vs a saline implant) higher on one implant. Lets be honest, it would be unfair to expect perfectly identical sized breast, but when one breast is almost overlapping the other because of the largeness? Not cool! Now I am stuck with these implants, the difficulty of wanting to wear a bikini with weird fake breast and an expensive payment that I am unsatisfied with. As a woman, we all have our insecurities, and this has grown from a small insecurity to a bigger insecurity. All I wanted was a full C to fill out a bikini; now I have one implant much higher and rounder then the other. God knows when I will be able to fix this problem and now I will have to pay even more to fix it since I went for a follow up and was told we could fix it and was given a quote... Why should I have to pay more for someones mistake? I have so many more concern, for example this bulge that is on my lleft breast but I am not comfortable going to my own doctor? Please ladies, do your research and make sure to choose the right doctor, not just some doctor who wants to cash in on these horrible breast augmentation decisions. I have never written a review for any place, but this was absolutely necessary. By writing this review I hope to save many other potential patients the heartache, tears, disappointment and non the less their hard earned money!!! read more

Horrible experience. He's a very busy guy and it shows in his work. I'm writing this review after multiple attempts to talk one-on-one with him. The few times I met with him were rushed because he schedules his appointments during surgeries. If your looking for a "get it over and done" type of Surgeon he's your guy. These last 3 appointments for post op. have had to be rescheduled because he is in Dubai. As far as my experience before surgery, I set a date 5 months in advance, and they called me 3 weeks before my surgery date to reschedule because he had too many appointments for that date. During the consultation he was simple and sweet, let me know whatever I needed done he could do. Day of surgery, he didn't mark up where I wanted lipo and ended up doing an area I didn't want and not where I actually wanted. I was so sick when I woke up from surgery because I was out for about 8 hours unnecessarily. I'm sure because he was taking other appointments and doing another surgery at the same time as mine. When I stood up after surgery, blood was pouring out if my incision because his staff didn't put a garment on me. He wasn't even there to help, mind you it was 8pm, I was there at 8am, and I went into surgery at 11am. There were no instructions for his staff on how to help me and he was not able to be reached. No one, not even the doctor called to check up on me and my bleeding after surgery. I was bleeding all night, and soaked up 3 big towels with blood. I came in the next day for post op. and asked for a wheel chair because blood was pouring out of my leg. The nurse Alex, refused to give me one because she said I needed to walk. Later I over heard her and another staff member say I shouldn't have been bleeding that excessively and that they should have had me in a garment right after surgery. And when they gave me the garment a day later, it was too small and they had to cut it up for it to fit. It was so uncomfortable and gave me permanent marks from the garment pinching my skin. My experience with CSI and DR Smaili has been very pleasant. I am 2 weeks post op from BA and I am very pleased with my current results and just the whole experience. I started off going to about 4 or 5 doctors for consultations just because I wanted to get different opinions and find the right fit for me. I really believe in energy and Dr Smaiilis staff really made me feel comfortable every visit. OUt of all the doctors I saw Dr Smaili was the only one that actually didn't try to change my mind on every DECISION I had originally came in there with. Saline, Armpit Incision, etc. Some doctors just try to sell you to what they believe and it makes the whole process even more confusing. I do however really like that he gave me his opinion on what size I should get based on my frame which really made sense. I was trying to go too small and he reminded me that they get smaller after time. I love the size its very fitting. Now back to the consultation part. After all my appts I still hadn't made a decision bc I think I was just so bombarded with info. It was actually the email I received from his Surgical Consultant Andrea that closed the deal for me . She is a sweetheart! I was able to continuously ask more questions and it really gave me the confidence I needed to do it. Sometimes you just have to make a decision and stick with it. Her positivity and continued assurance really helped steer my decision. I came back for a second consultation before my surgery appt and every time I have seen Dr Smaili he has made me feel comfortable and that he cared. He sees a lot of people however I have never felt that I couldn't ask him all the questions I had. He and his staff did a wonderful job on my surgery. Im sure he may seem busy at times but its up to You to ask all your questions. My breasts look great, perfect size, and are healing wonderfully as well as my incisions ! I am beyond pleased with the whole experience. Thank you to all the staff from the front desk , to the nurses, to the Consultant. I have always had man boobs. I lost a lot of weight over 80 pounds and I still had really large man boobs. I had been wanting to have the gynecomastia surgery for a long time. After researching and meeting with different doctors. I decided to go with Dr. Smaili at California Surgical Institute. It's the best decision I have made. I had the gynecomastia surgery, liposuction on the abdominal and flanks (love handles). Dr. Smiley's technique is great. I was not in much pain afterwards. I didn't have much bruising. My scars are healing very well. I had the surgery on Thursday morning. I went back to work Monday. I still have some swelling, but that's to be expected it's literally only been a week. I am really happy with my results. The ladies that work in the Beverly Hills office are really nice. I love the staff. My nurse Ida the day of surgery was the sweetest ever! Dr. Smiley is super dope as well. He doesn't talk much, but he's all about his craft (and that's what's really important). I would engage him and joke with him and he became more personable. He's not the doctor that's going to walk in the room and hug you, but he will make sure you get the best results. I have two more procedures that I want to have done. DO NOT GET YOUR RHINOPLASTY HERE!!!! Since my botched job in 2015 ( i literally have a piece of cartilage poking through the tip of my nose, only one one side though, since it is crooked, and I push it down daily hoping that this is not the day my nose explodes) i have been saving my money for a revision. Aside from the aesthetics of my nose, and the only being able to breath through one side, that is not the worst part. When I was seen to take my cast off finally, which if you've been dreaming of a new nose all your life is the highlight, he ripped it off so fast I sware to you it re broke it, then he left the room. Ripped it off, and left the room without saying a word. He did not hand me a mirror, there wasnt even a mirror in the room, did not stay to show me. ripped it off and walked away. I didnt see my new nose until I got into the car with my husband and he positioned the rear view mirror so I could look. I should have known better, since I used a coupon, and no respectable ' dr' issues coupons. I would give zero stars if I could, but since I can not, I will issue this one start to the anesthesiologist. I cant speak on his skills to other procedures, but please listen to my review and dm me if you want photos. Do your research!!!! If your planning on getting you breast done for the first time or getting them redone Dr smiley is the doctor you should very well consider. I looked everywhere to find a doctor to help fix the breast augmentation I got in 2015 and came upon Dr Smiley through my mom after she had gotten her tummy tuck . ( by the way came out amazing as well she is very happy) I scheduled my consultation, met with him we went over my wants and concerns and came to the conclusion that I would not look any further and he was the right doctor for me . I had my breast redone June 2018 and have been very happy since he helped me get a huge weight lifted off my chest literally lol and I couldn't be happier with my choice . Just wanted to take a moment out in my still recovery time to thank the staff at the Beverly Hills and Brea office of Dr. Tarick Smaili with the California Surgical Institute for making me feel relaxed, and important. Dr. Smaili thank you for making my experience with you fabulous. He was very pleasant in his approach to explaining what he would do for me to achieve my goal and have a successful surgery. He has a very cool and relaxed demeanor while speaking with you, he will answer all of your questions and I had a lot. Dr. Smiley is AMAZING! I'm a 43-year-old mom of three children. Due to my small frame, having my kids completely changed my body - especially my stomach. I had a tremendous amount of excess skin as well as extra fat in my lower back. While I was comfortable with the rest of my body, the loose skin on my stomach had always been my biggest source of insecurity. My daughter recommended me to Dr. Smiley as she was impressed by the work she saw from him on Snapchat. I had consulted with a few other doctors but I felt the most confident in Dr. Smiley's work. The consultation process was easy, the staff are very friendly, and the office is pristine. I am beyond impressed with my tummy tuck and lipo suction. I am 30 mother of 2 and I had extensive stretch marks in my stomach that made me feel unattractive. I decided to go ahead and look for cosmetic surgery to resolve my issue.. I will tell you to not expect to have a good one on one time with the Dr. Because I would be lying, the most I got was 10 min max but his staff is awesome!!! Finding the "right" cosmetic surgery doctor can be extremely challeging especially when they all claim to be the best. Fortunately I found Dr. Smaili a short while after visiting many other cosmetic surgents. I'm a returning patient of Dr. Smaili. In 2005, I had a procedure done with him; I was extremely happy with the results and I was also very happy with Dr. Smaili. Recently, June 14th, 2013, I had surgery again with Dr. Smaili and I was very happy once again with Dr. Smaili. I don't plan on having tons of additional cosmetic procedure moving forward but if I do change my mind I will most certainly see Dr. Smaili again. The doctor is very professional, on time, and knowledgeable which makes things a lot easier for people who would like to have cosmetic surgery. In fact, he is one of the best! I suffered from chronic lower back, thigh and left calf sciatic pain. My personal physician kept advising me to strengthen my core. I had all the physical therapy and pain management anyone could have with no real results. My co-worker gave me Dr. Smaili's number I made an appointment for a consultation. I was very pleased with his advise on strengthening my core. My surgery went exceptionally well with minimal pain. I no longer have any back or sciatic pain nor do I wear any braces for my back or leg pain!! I followed all the directives and my down time was only (4) weeks!! Stay Away! The worst experience of my life! I waited several months to write this review. After this doctor collects your money and you will roll out on a wheelchair from surgery, this doctor will avoid you. His employees will contact you next day after surgery and say that he is out of town and the only option you have is to see a nurse. The incompetent nurse Maria is the rudest person. She will pull your stitches out so rough that you will scream at the top of your lungs. You will have to wait weeks if not months to see Dr. Smiley for a follow up to address any of your post surgical concerns. He's not reachable by phone or email meanwhile he will be posting his selfies every minute on instagram and snapchat. Dr. Smiley is an AMAZING plastic surgeon. My first breast augmentation surgery was done in 2004 via the armpit. I had minimal pain and no bruising. I was back to work and driving in no time. In 2016, I had my second breast augmentation surgery in an effort to go larger. This time Dr. Smiley went through the nipple. Once again, I healed beautifully and my breast were absolutely perfect. However, I wanted to go larger. I guess you can say I'm fascinated with large breast. What's that saying? "Go big or go home!!!" In 2019, I had my third breast augmentation surgery.
