What's good: tom kha soup, pad see-eaw, free spring rolls upon check-in, staff attitude, portion sizes What could use improvement: pad thai (too wet/watery), papaya salad (SUPER spicy and a little too salty), staffing We had some tasty food here on a Thursday at about 6pm but it took forever. I think they were understaffed. They seemed to bring every entree ordered out individually so I think they were cooking them one by one. We waited an hour for our entrees. Tables of people who were seated after us got their food before us, which made no sense because we ordered the same food they did. I was disappointed in the watery taste of the pad Thai too. The papaya salad was tasty but my mouth hurt so bad after from the spice. On the bright side, the entrees are way more than generous enough for a dinner portion and the pad see-eaw and tom kha soup were very good. The waiter was really nice but he seemed to be waiting on every single table alone that night. Overall, most of the food was good but the service was too poor for me to overlook. The spice levels on the menu are pretty accurate. The food came pretty quick and was good! It's right on the Main Street. I really liked the Drunken noodles and red curry. They said there was no fish or oyster sauce for people with diet restrictions so that was nice. read more

It's new as I understand, so perhaps some misgivings can be attributed to inexperience. Clean and neat, it's located on Main St. Currently it lacks atmosphere and a beer and wine license. It would also appear, unfortunately, to be a two person operation. All that said, the food was authentic and delicious but it comes at a price. Service when available, was friendly but frustratingly slow. The Tarin duck prepared Thai spicy was addictive at $25. Pad Thai shrimp very nice slightly over sauced, $20. Hopefully they will add to the staff before they subtract from the customer base. read more

The food was amazing! The food was flavorful and at the correct spice level I requested. I got the drunken noodles and they were amazing. Appetizers came out right after our drinks. I jokingly recommend the Thai Iced Tea. Service was a little slow but l friendly. (Pets are allowed as long as well behaved and leashed). Despite all this the ambiance and decor were disappointing. As out of towners, we are thankful we stumbled upon this local favorite in downtown Annapolis! We were able to find a number of tasty vegetarian options, as the kind owner shared they don't use fish sauce in their dishes. Penang Curry was just the right amount of creamy and spicy while our standard Pad Thai had a unique yummy twist with red tofu. This was literally THE WORST Thai food I have EVER had and the worst service I have ever had, too, and that is saying A LOT. I have been all over Asia and eaten all kinds of Thai food, but what I experienced tonight was nothing short of inedible. I specifically told the waitress "NO SPICE" in any of the dishes, yet they all came out so spicy that we couldn't eat any of them. The only thing that had been eaten was a chicken fried rice and dumplings for my daughter, but the three salads my mother and I ordered were filled with so much spice that we never took more than 2 bites out of each of them. My mouth was on fire so badly that I could feel my skin on my lips burning and couldn't even eat the Pad Thai because of it. One of the waitresses came over and offered us rice because she could see it was so spicy, but it didn't make it any better. Then, when it was time for the check, she refused to take any of it off the bill, even though she knew I had asked for no spice and even though it was obvious we hadn't eaten any of it. When I asked her to take something off the bill, she responded with "I'm not the owner", smiled, and walked away with my credit card. Just to get out the door I had to pay $93 in total for only one appetizer and one entree that was eaten, even though nothing else was eaten and barely touched. What a complete ripoff and what awful food and service. I don't even know how this place is still in business, but if you value your time, money, and tastebuds, I highly suggest you go elsewhere. read more

But the food was expensive like you are close to a Michelin star restaurant , for the quality and quantity that you get here it was making me and my husband unhappy! I ordered the vegetable Panang curry. What a total bummer! First, this was made way too sweet. And I ordered the veggie no meat curry. I got a bowl full of green beans. A couple of broccoli heads. This is our go to for takeout Thai. The soup is great. The people who work there are very nice. We've pretty much eaten the whole menu since they opened for orders for two people to as many as 12. The Pad Thai and red and green curry dishes are all quite different and each one delicious. So I'm presuming the rest of the menu is too. Just had the Green Curry with Beef and the combination of jalapeños, eggplants, bamboo shoots, bell peppers, and beef was perfectly prepared. 2 peppers on the menu here does indicate some serious heat - but that's as it should be in my opinion. DELICIOUS FOOD!! Ordered the Pad woonsen and it was sooo yummy. The noodles were delicate and delicious, and I loved that it had a ton of veggies too. Tarin Thai is the best Thai food in the area. We would always order Lemongrass, occasionally Carlsons or M thai, this is now our go to spot. The owners are very friendly and the service is always great. They seem to be from the region of Thailand which is always a plus when ordering ethnic food of any kind. It's good to have authentic food, which Tarin seems to serve. The Tom yum soup is the best I've ever had. Full of all the flavors you'd expect from that soup being made authentically. We were pleasantly surprised! All of our dishes (pad Thai, yellow curry and chicken satay) were fresh and delicious. Portions were good (bigger than Lemongrass) and accommodating to dietary preferences (gluten free and vegetarian). *update: we've been back twice since the first time and unfortunately those experiences weren't quite as good. The second time our food was so greasy we couldn't finish it. Stopped by to grab lunch while visiting Annapolis yesterday. I asked about lunch special and was told it was not available for holiday weekend, understandable. The waiter did honor the free check in appetizer. We ordered a papaya salad and pad Thai. Waited quite a bit for our food. Papaya salad is awful- pure fish sauce dressing. Pad Thai is pretty good. What's most disturbing is, while we are waiting, we can hear people yelling at each other in the kitchen. It was a guy complaining and then a woman yelling angrily. There is no door to the kitchen so we hear everything. It's a very unpleasant and distressing experience. read more
