    Northender

My wife and I frequent this shop often. The service is always on point and the food is consistently good. We tend the get the same thing every time..for me the "Northender" and my wife "The Inlet + prosciutto". We always make it a combo and change our chip choice, the brand of chips they use has amazing flavors. If you want quality sandwiches, this is the spot.

I love going to Taste to get my favorite sandwich. The staff is friendly and helpful if you're on the fence about what to order. The restaurant is clean and well stocked with fresh accompaniments for your next meal, with everything from house made potato salad to their crowd-pleasing Hot House Dressing. If you have not already tried it, do yourself a treat, better yet, take a bottle home with you!

Brunswick stew and sweet potato biscuits with ham. 10/10

The last time it was still called Taste Unlimited. I saw "Taste" and thought it was one and the same. I drove by this location right before they officially opened and never made it back. The signature yellow stripped bags and delicious sandwiches are the same. I was starving so I got the Brunswick stew and the 2 ham sandwiches on sweet potato biscuits. This was along with the Italian sandwich. I did share half my Italian for half of my friend's Virginian sandwich. Not going to lie- with the exception of one of the sweet potato biscuits, I ate everything. I washed it all down with the cane sugared soda. I normally drink diet, but not today. Not today. There's lots of local nuts you can purchase along with some ready made meals. I didn't think the price point was too bad.

It's been a long, hot minute before I last time I've eaten here at Taste! I'm so glad that I rediscovered this place for a fresh meal and different options. Staff wise, I could really say they have friendly personalities and they take care of their customers. They have a new menu item which is the roasted shrimp wrap! It comes with pineapple salsa, and two other sauces. Really good. I also got my favorite chips which are the Route 11 Dill Pickle chips and an apricot iced tea (unsweetened). The atmosphere is like Fresh Market mixed with a seating area. I love the artwork presented, in which you could buy them. I can't believe I forgot about how cool this restaurant is, and will be back because I work nearby!

Taste is a top tier sandwich shop. They have several locations but I go to the one on Eden Way. They offer a variety of well crafted sandwiches, salads, soups, and treats, and more. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered the Bayville Farms and Northender sandwiches. Bayville is a roast beef sandwich with a homemade taste sauce. The Northender is a turkey sandwich with avocado, smoked bacon, Havarti, avocado, romaine, tomato, and basil mayo. The French bread is fresh. My favorite part of Taste is the local businesses they showcase. From wines, chips, meats, and mugs all local VA businesses. It's a joy to browse and try out new products from my state.

The food is good and the service usually is quick and courteous. I usually get it to go and the place looks inviting and quiet.

Went in for their gelatos. Unfortunately, they no longer carry or sell them. Hence, the 4/5 stars. However, we left with some cold drinks and snacks which was delicious. They carry CBD beverages as well. They sell wines. Food to go. Gourmet nuts and snacks. One stop shop to eat and buy gifts!

I guess they redesigned? I haven't been here in ages. I was just praying it was still here as I turned the corner from the main shopping/dining center parking lot. The first thing I noticed are the two exterior dining areas. Each boasting 6-7 tables. Most are covered. Restaurant has at least 3 sets of double doors. Because of the direction I came from I was confused how to enter. I walked through the patio area to the first door I saw and found myself in the store area, face to face with shelves etc. it is best to enter through the middle doors under the TASTE sign. BOYLAN fountain soda machine has been here about a month. Soda made with cane sugar. No coke or Pepsi machine here! Good for you TASTE!! They have received several complaints. I suppose this is understandable because this is not what people are accustomed to. $2.45 for the fountain soda. Bottles are $1.99 on the store side. I usually only order water, but I'm trying the Black Cherry for you! I also sampled the cream soda. Yummy! And better for your tummy. My order was ready by the time I selected and filled my drink so service was relatively quick. Not super busy 1:30 pm on a workday. Fewer than 10 customers diamond outside. I joined them on the patio. Very nice, cozy. Yes my custom made-to-order sandwich was delicious perfection! Paid extra for the croissant bread choice but it was worth it.

I genuinely don't know how to put this into words besides, FANTASTICAL the sheer amount of options that you have is, at first, overwhelming. Then keep looking and you'll find any Sandwhich you could dream up. From hearty helpings of meat, to stacked high veggie Sammie's. They have GLUTEN FREE bread!!!!! Real bread not that crap that falls apart when you're eating. They have their own little store too full of wine and house made sauces. Honestly, the sauces make it everything. BEST GF sammich I've had in about 2 years. I will be coming here often.

We were in town for the week and staying right beside Taste. We stopped in here for lunch/dinner several times. Everything we ate was excellent! Service was quick. There's a nice place to sit inside or outside to eat. I would definitely recommend eating or shopping here! I wish there was one in my hometown!

I don't normally do this but I'm so appalled that I have to speak in this. The Taste Restaurant at Greenbrier should be ashamed of themselves for charging me $28.87 for a Crab Salad Wrap, a Pungo BBQ sandwich, and a fountain drink. I don't mind spending for quality but what we received was far from it. While in line my wife and I were considering Tropical Smoothie. We should have gone with our gut because I could not have been more disappointed. On the plus side of things the ambiance was top notch and the service was better than average but I was actually angry when I got home and opened my bag to see a BBQ Sandwich that was about the size of a McDonald's cheeseburger, if not a bit smaller. The sandwich on the digital menu didn't resemble the one that was prepared for me. I don't plan on spending any more of my hard earned money at this overpriced establishment there are certainty other places where I can get better quality for a much more affordable price.

Taste is my go-to for soups and sandwiches! The Lynnhaven is my favorite. I used to frequent the Norfolk location and was stoked when I started a new job and found out there was one right by my job! It is a very relaxing place for a quick bite. Everything is always fresh with quality ingredients. I love how they switch up the soups daily. They also serve beer and wine which is always a plus (not during work hours of course!) Usually my girlfriends and I will go and get a wine flight. Such good quality wines for the price. The customer service is always wonderful as well. I should mention , the parking lot is kind of crowded so be careful of cars and pedestrians.

Taste always offer fresh quality ingredients without compromising taste. Their sandwiches are always satisfying and flavorful. Their food does not weigh you down and their variety in their choices keeps you coming back. It was my first visit to the greenbrier location and I was not disappointed. They don't separate the ordering and paying so there's no awkward giving of the payment with them gently directing you to another cashier. The restaurant is clean and bright with plenty of tempting market items and wines to delight the visual senses. My favorite sandwich is the Northender but decided on this last visit to try the seasonal crab cake sandwich. Although smaller than expected, it was delicious and aioli was tangy and creamy. I don't know why I haven't gone here sooner but will be sure to return again and again in the future.

Everything I've had here is delicious, but here are some of my favorites: UBE BLONDIES *** Probably one of their most signature items that stays on the menu season to season, this crumbly, satisfyingly dense, soft baked good with that nice punch of ube flavor will really have you coming back for more. The frosting glaze is just perfect, adding that sweetness that carries the ube flavor really nicely. The texture is just soooo satisfying, you can just tell when you cut your fork through it that it has this airy, yet dense and crumbly texture. TURON FRITTER Kind of like an apple fritter, but oh so crumbly, delicious, bright, and soft on the inside. Also had their brown sugar boba pudding cup when it came out, and it was really good; the tapioca actually blended quite nicely and was chewy and fresh, which means you're not stuck chewing it forever. Definitely on the sweeter side, but brown sugar items tend to be that way.

Ice cream can get incredibly rich for me very fast, but that wasn't my experience with their rainbow cookie ice cream! You can get milkshakes, malts, ready-to-go pints, ice cream sandwiches, ice cream pies, or keep it classic with a cup or cone. Basically, whatever ice-cream mood you're in, they've got something for you. I ended up going with the cookie dough ice cream sandwich, and it absolutely hit the spot. The ice cream was super creamy and packed with cookie dough, and the cookies themselves were soft, chewy, and the perfect match for the filling. It was rich without being too much, which is saying something for an ice cream sandwich. The whole place just had a really easy, fun vibe.
