Kensley's Açaí and Coffee is a charming Puerto Rican-owned café tucked into a convenient shopping center, which makes parking a breeze--always a plus. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space itself is cozy and welcoming, with a mix of indoor seating options and one two-person table outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There's even a larger table inside that would work well for small group meetups or casual work sessions. The menu features a nice variety of pastries and drinks. A friend and I shared the tiramisu, which had great flavor but was a bit on the stale side--possibly not super fresh, though still enjoyable overall. I tried the dulce banana latte and was pleasantly surprised. The milk-to-espresso ratio was spot on, and while the banana flavor was subtle, the drink wasn't overly sweet--which I appreciated. My only gripe was with the cold foam add-on; I paid extra for it ($1.25), but it was served with a dome top, which doesn't quite deliver the cold foam sipping experience I expected. Minor "first world problem" though, and I'd definitely order it again. I'm curious to return and try their açaí bowls next time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, a solid spot with a warm vibe and potential to become a local favorite.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I was so excited to hear there was a Puerto Rican cafe close to where I live that I had to check it out. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Right when I walked in I could hear them playing Marc Anthony on blast which hits the mood just right.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I really wanted a sandwich so I ordered the Kensley Sandwich. Chicken, bacon, mozzarella cheese, lettuce, tomato, sweet plantain and my favorite, on Sabao bread! Ugh! One of many things I miss about Puerto Rico is Pan Sabao! It's so soft and sweet. So yes, the sandwich was delicious. Along with that I got a guava and cheese pastry and a slice of cake to take home. Both were heaven. I met the owners and they are a very nice couple. I will definitely return.

Randomly found this place online and me and friends decided to try it out. It's in the Grassfield area of Chesapeake, really nice area, good parking lot. Love that it is veteran and Puerto Rican owned! The service was amazing, super friendly they even lend us their portable light to take some videos and photos of our food and drinks. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They had music playing and a good amount of seats and table for customers.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Everything was really clean and neat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Drinks and food were ask delicious and made fresh! Definitely need to come back again to try their fall drinks and smoothie bowls!

    Cute spot!

Cute cafe in the heart of the Grassfield region of Chesapeake, offering Puerto Rican quesitos (sweet pastries with cream cheese and/or guava) as well as sandwiches and the namesake items noted. The quesitos and empanadas we got were nice - we particularly liked how flaky the crust of the empanadas were. The staff were also attentive and quick to complete my order. Will have to return to try the açaí bowls.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Hidden secret. Quaint little place to enjoy a cup of coffee and breakfast.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Best açai bowls in Hampton Roads area. Reminds me of the ones in Hawaii.

I've been two times in only a couple days and I love it. Tried a cortado, flan latte & lemon crème cake. I believe all items are made in house and everything tasted amazing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They played light music and had a very cute comfortable dining room.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Stopped by KENSLEY'S Acai & Café in Chesapeake and loved it. Ordered the Survivor Beach açai bowl. Fresh fruit and the perfect balance of crunchy granola, coconut, and drizzle on top. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere felt calm and welcoming[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], and everything tasted fresh and well made. Definitely a spot I'll come back to.

Thanks to my dear amiga Nicole, we're meeting up here. What a wonderful cafe! The owner Kendley is personable and friendly. This cafe showcases Puerto Rican beverages like the coquito latte. I will definitely try that next time. I ordered the affogato but instead of vanilla gelato they use coconut gelato - YUMMY! They offer sandwiches and pastries, I can stay here all day! Their cakes are unique and look delectable. I def will take some to go, check out pix! Worth the drive from VB...

Cinnamon roll!! Not dry. So good

There are soooo many mid bakery/cafes in this area... Kensley's is the vibe this area needs and I'm so glad it's here!!! The cafe setting is fun with ample seating and tables to enjoy food or you can do counter service. We have tried the French toast, quava pastries, cortado, and cinnamon rolls. My god. They're so phenomenal. Oh and a strawberry smoothie. First, let's talk about the French toast. Do you ever order French toast because you're expecting some nice fun fluffy French toast and it comes out dry AF? Not here! The French toast taste like an absolute dessert without it being too sweet. It's not too eggy, and the fresh fruit is ample (not just a few pieces later on there- they go all out) Next up, let's discuss the cinnamon rolls. Maybe I just lucked out because it came right out of the oven, but these were absolutely phenomenal. Once again, let's talk about how when we order a pastry and it comes out dry. No no. I don't know if they use a different type of dough variation? But the baked goods portion was very light and fluffy and the icing was very creamy. I have not found a cinnamon roll comparable in quality outside of Dollywood. I said what I said. A super awesome cinnamon roll pastry. The Cortado was made with local Puerto Rican beans. They had some beans for sale so I made sure I bought a bag because the Cortado was absolutely amazing. It didn't taste burnt and the foam to café ratio with spot on. I highly recommend it here. Will be back for a savory break! There's empanadas, sandwiches, and a wide variety of coffee drinks.

So happy to finally come and check this place out! At first glance is very clean, modern and well decorated without going overboard. The music is appropriate and added to the enjoyment of our visit. The selection of food and snacks are all tempting so i had to start a to go order. I got some "quesitos" with guava, a bread pudding and a caramel cheesecake... for laaaaater :) I was surprised to find out they had a sandwich named after me so of course I had to go with it, I had the "papi's sandwich" with mayo and a side of sweet plantains. I also had a coquito latte with whipped cream. The sandwich was delicious, not too heavy and a good blend of flavors and textures. The service was friendly and prompt. The owners are right there in the mix working and ensuring the service and the food is satisfactory and the customers are enjoying everything. We visited right at noon and it was just us and another couple, by the time we got our food 5 minutes later the place was packed and all tables were filled! Definitely on our list of must visit and definitely will be recommending to everyone to come and check it out.

Needless to say the food was so good, pics proved to have zero chance. Sooo after a rough week, a Saturday late morning breakfast was calling for a much needed downtime to sit and enjoy... and well here we go: Some say happiness in a bottle, I say Happiness in a glass! Their iced praline mocha is soooo good! The right balance of mocha and coffee, not overly sweet but enough to give you a pick me up while enjoying their amazing food! Next time must try their lavender latte or pistachio... but gotta get it before 5/31 as it's available for a limited time! Definitely recommend the brekki bowl with cheese grits and fried chicken! You will not be disappointed. Cheese grits like "buhhhttah" without the oily and maybe the calories?! But honestly, so flavorful and creamy without the guilty feeling for having something that tastes so good. The veggies are fresh and perfectly cooked to give you great texture contrast. And let me tell you about their fried chicken!! Chefs kiss! Moist, flavorful lightly breaded chicken fried to perfection that had a slight kick for this girl. In full disclosure black pepper is spicy for me so take that with a grain of salt. And for those of you like me that believe there is never too much salt and add salt to your salt but need to cut that bad habit... this whole dish is the perfect amount of salt. I literally never had to add just a little more. The goat cheese crumbles gave each bite the little extra tah-dah pop that might have been otherwise gotten had you like me added a few more shakes of salt to the dish. Seriously though, if you are watching to slowly cut back on having to add salt to your food, this dish is for you! The service was great and everyone was friendly and hustling! This place is the best for a quick sit down or a group brunch. I saw a table of like 10 menly bros enjoying a huge selection of food, drinks, and catching up. Really awesome to see that as the next few tables were a mix of families with and without kids, in laws, aunts and uncles just coming together for amazing food, great and accurate service, and overall fantastic experience ina random Saturday morning!

My wife ordered the Chicken Salad Wrap with a side of onion rings, and she thoroughly enjoyed her meal. The onion rings arrived piping hot with just the right amount of seasoning, perfectly crisp and absolutely delicious. The Chicken Salad Wrap was fresh, flavorful, and every bit as satisfying. Since the fried rice was out, I pivoted and ordered the #1 Special: 2 eggs (requested soft scrambled with cheese) 2 pieces of bacon (asked to hold the bacon) White toast Home fries Side order: Egg rolls to go The execution of breakfast was pretty disappointing. The eggs weren't soft scrambled, the cheese on top wasn't melted, and the home fries were very hard. To top it off, the whole plate came out at room temperature.
