Just a warning to anyone that try's to eat here for lunch, make sure you call in your order ahead of time even if you're going to dine in. The lunch rush at this place is crazy and it only seems to stop after 1:30 if that. After they expanded I think it helped settle some of the congestion they had since the line would literally be out the door to the parking lot. This place is pretty great and the food is wonderful. There menu has a great variety when it comes to sandwiches, salads, and wraps. I usually get the Northender as a wrap. I've also had a few of their salads which are great also. One of our clients loves this place so we always go pick up lunch for them whenever their in town. My coworker and I also love to order our food out. It's convenient that there is a separate register just to pick up to go orders. It helps us avoid the crazy line that forms. Their desserts are really good too. The snicker doodle and chocolate chip are among the favorites in our office. The variety in chips are pretty interesting too granted I don't get them often but everyone else seems to be quite fond of them. They also sell various cheese spreads, wine, and gelato. The place is pretty much full of interesting things to eat. If you're in the area for a good eat this is a great place to stop by. read more

what a great sandwich place with daily Peter's Pick specials for $8.99 that includes a sandwich, small chips, and a regular drink. They have a variety of artisan meats, cheeses, breads. They also have a little side market section with a variety of yummy take home stuff, beverages, etc...Taste is a European vibe delicatessen. They have beer & wine. They also use antibiotic free chicken, no nitrates or artificial growth promoters in their meats. All of their items also do not contain MSGs and other nasty chemicals. They have plenty of vegetarian and gluten free options as well. Great place, always fresh! I totally recommend checking them out. Plus, they are always accommodating when I take my impatient kids there. So, that's an unexpected nicety. Awesome place. I love the idea of a deli and a store taken upscale. The fresh ingredients are to die for and all the healthy options anyone would want. I used to go to Taste once or twice a week. The food is yummy and filling. However... 1) They have raised their prices when the food was already expensive to begin with. 2) there is not great consistency. One time my sandwich will be stuffed and its fresh. The next time its skimpy. I had to eventually start getting the sauce on the side because sometimes it would be dripping and then the next was almost dry. 3) They took out their Barbecue Chicken Salad which my co-worker got at least a couple times a month. Taste is a great sandwich and salad place! I love the way the place is set up, you can order your food and then check out the fun little gifts and food they have in their store. It's always pretty good as well. This last time I went I got the lobster salad roll, I would recommend it. It had a good amount of lobster in it and it was only $12. Not sure what is going on with Taste, but for the cost the food is not what it used to be at all. The sandwiches are over priced, mine today was $11 and the 'full-size' sandwich was not even the size of my palm, add a lemonade and it was over $15. Absolutely not worth it anymore. Service was also lackluster. The staff could have cared less that a customer was in front of them and basically whipped the sandwich at me when it was ready. Might want to consider getting your existing stores right before adding anymore. Truly sad, it's close to my work and I used to enjoy other Taste locations. I have been going to Taste for over 15 years. I really love the quality of the food and they have a great selection. The Hilltop is one of my favorite sandwiches. I also love the Taste dressing that they use in the sandwiches and have purchased the bottle to use at home. They also offer a great variety of wines and snacks...perfect for entertaining guests. I recommend the pimento cheese spread, which is prepared fresh in house. I recently brought a problem to their attention and they quickly remedied the situation. Great customer service! read more

It's wild to me how much people love Taste. I have been to Taste multiple times to give it another shot, and every time I'm so disappointed by the food! No one wants to admit the food is so average cause the branding and marketing experience is so incredibly well done, it's blinding. Taste markets towards people who want to eat healthy, so a lot of their menu items appear as have taken minimal effort to prepare to portray the natural and raw look. But healthy food does not need to be dumbed down to flavorless raw food to be healthy. Spinach packed tightly in a bowl with some light toppings sprinkled on top is not a good salad. The cold flavorless and rubbery chicken on the salads is off putting. No one wants to eat cold taco flavored vegan ground "beef" on a taco salad. Chopping the salads, mixing it up, and heating up the protein would do WONDERS. Sandwiches: too small for the high price. And you have to pay extra for chips and drink?! Why is the french onion soup served with cold shredded cheese on top of a small slice of bread? And where's the onions? Anyway... ugh. Go here if you want to pay DC prices.
