I haven't been to taste the Thai in years and they're still tasty. Add many friends weight tables like long, long time ago here I honestly thought that taste of Thai express was related, but it's not. But they honestly on par in my experience. Taste of Thai has a convenient location in the commons. It's a very nice sit down type dining experience. The wait staff was excellent sung us happy birthday. We ordered Pad see ew and I had yellow curry with chicken. It was tasty and delicious and the right amount of savoriness and spices for this cold winter day. It's honestly great for parties. I've had 10 people here and they have like a big round table in the back. It is very convenient In the commons, in the myriad of restaurants it's a solid choice. Definitely recommend

After spending the morning at Sciencenter we needed lunch, we haven't been here in a few years. We were the only customers there, we went in between lunch and the start of dinner. We started with three appetizers calamari, chicken wings and spring rolls. The calamari was decent, but wish the batter was seasoned a little(we like rings and tentacles style more lol). My oldest loved the chicken wings, we love the lemongrass flavor. The spring rolls ok a little bland without dipping sauce. For our entrees: Thai Fried Rice with Chicken : my oldest enjoyed this, I tasted a little and it was flavorful not bland. Green Curry with Duck : I never order green curry(I love red curry or Panang) decided to try something new. It was delicious and good amount of serving(you only get one small bowl of rice). We were asked heat level when ordering, I did a level 4 and had heat but not overpowering. I took leftovers home. Drunken Noodles with Chicken : My husband said his meal was ok but wish it was saucier and his portions were small (compared to other places we've been). Overall I think we'll check out other Thai restaurants in the area whenever we come back for a visit. We like to compare.

Great Thai food in downtown Ithaca. I love their peanut sauce and fresh vegetables! Staff are always friendly and helpful by answering any questions on the menu!

Stopped by taste of Thai for a lunch while visiting Ithaca. Quaint spot- service was alright and the food was what we were looking for.

Stopped in for lunch and they did not disappoint. Had an appetizer of Chicken Satay which was very delicious, followed by the main courses of Spicy Basil (Beef) and Pad Thai. Everything was quick and service was decent.

Came here by a recommendation from a friend who would drive from Binghamton up to Ithaca for this place. Safe to say, I understand her commitment. Great vegan and vegetarian options. We each got a beer, spring rolls (scrumptious), Thai basil noodles and Pad Thai both with chicken all delicious! The service was super nice and it's a great date spot in the commons.

The service was pretty slow and it took a while for us to get seated and receive our order. This was okay though since the place seemed pretty full that day. The ambiance was super nice. They had flowers and a candle, which really helped to elevate the experience. Definitely gives it a more romantic vibe. I enjoyed both the Pad Thai and the Yellow Curry! They were so delicious. The Pad Thai was sweet, savory, and nutty. The chopped peanuts helped to give it a umami taste. The yellow curry was unexpectedly sweet (I've never had yellow curry before though) but savory from the beef and potatoes. It was a good combination. The mango sticky rice was great too! The mango was ripe and the rice was super chewy with the right amount of sweetness. If it wasn't for how full I already was, I would have probably finished it. Overall, I had a pretty good experience. I would say that things tend to be on the sweeter side, which could be a good or bad thing.

I'm staying in Ithaca for the week. I type into Yelp: Fine Dining and one of the choices were a pizza - brewery spot. It's ok, I can adapt anywhere. About 5pm, we bolted out to a local Thai restaurant wanting to explore more of the city's culinary offerings. As always, I'm open to try something new and different. When we walked in, we were greeted warmly and shown to our table. Basil Duck, it sounds Italian?? Sold! The Thai Iced Tea, I'm not looking for a sugary drink. The waiter assured me it's made with coconut milk, very flavorful. Ok, now I'm down to clown. The Thai Iced Tea? Wow! Sweet but very addictive. Starbucks should have this drink as an offering. My Basil Duck was interesting, lots of great flavors but the skin wasn't crispy. And I hate that.... I had a nice meal at Taste of Thai, enjoy!

On our first night in town while vacationing we made the short walk to the Commons where this restaurant resides. As is our custom, my wife and I share entrees whenever possible. In this case she ordered Thai Spicy Noodles (flat wide noodles stir fried with chicken, fresh chili, Thai basil, onion, bell peppers, mushroom, corn and carrot). I countered with Jungle Fish (stir fried catfish, Thai basil, baby corn, Thai eggplant, bell peppers, mushrooms, Thai herbs and coconut). I did not realize jasmine rice was included with the Jungle Fish so I mistakenly ordered brown rice. Everything was delicious.

I left my first review of this place six years ago, after we first discovered it. We have been driving 4 hours from home to come here at least once a year since then and I am happy to report that the food has been consistently authentic and delicious. And, as we always do, we will be going back again tomorrow night before we leave Ithaca. Our favorites are the Tom Yam soup, the fried calamari, the pad see eew with chicken, and the spicy basil with seafood. And they are worth the driv

Taste of Thai... how I love youuuu. Taste of Thai is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in Ithaca! Their food is so versatile, tasty, and perfect for all dietary needs!! Everytime I go to a restaurant, I like to try something new and I've never had a bad dish here! The yellow curry is AMZING and the Rama noodles own my life! I love the aromatic dishes with the perfect balance of spicy and slight sweetness of the coconut milk. I love how most dishes can be modified to fit your dietary needs. The portions are great for a family style dinner. Additionally, they're super speedy. Somehow Taste of Thai is FASTER than Taste of Thai Express. I also love the friendly staff and their willingness to provide insights. Shoutout to Adam for introducing me to the yellow fried rice and Miwa for the lovely conversations. The dim lighting and snug restaurant is perfect for a date night or a cozy meal with friends. I can't recommend Taste of Thai enough for their quality food, great prices, and the service :)

Pad Thai (with mock chicken), Pad See Eew (with chicken), Mango Sticky Rice, Sweet Black Sticky Rice
    Katie-Ann F.

First time in Ithaca and came across this Thai restaurant. I wasn't expecting much, but the food was actually pretty good. I got the pad Thai with mock meat. The dish was very flavorful--nutty, savory, and sweet (my friend thought it was slightly too sweet, but I didn't mind). My only comment would be that the mock chicken was a bit on the processed/spongy side but nothing too crazy. My friend got their spicy pad see eew with chicken. It was flavorful and had good variety of vegetables. However, the noodles were a bit oily, in my opinion, and the chicken was kinda dry. The desserts were amazing. Hands-down the BEST mango sticky rice I've ever had in my life. Fresh sweet mango paired with warm soft sticky rice bathing in a smooth sweet coconut sauce. The rice was perfectly cooked--not too soft or mushy at all. I would 10/10 recommend this if you like mango and coconut. The sweet black sticky rice was a new dessert to the both of us but a delicious surprise! The warm black sticky rice paired so nicely with the coconut "soup". Both of these were so good that we went back for more just before leaving Ithaca. Overall, really good Thai restaurant! Highly recommend their desserts and noodles as well! I will definitely be coming back to try their curry dishes next time:)

My new favorite place!! The soup was delicious and I added shrimp. I got the yellow curry mild and it still had a nice kick to it. I like spicy so I was pleased with the level of heat. I really came for the mango sticky rice and it did not disappoint. I will definitely be back for more. Our waitress was very attentive and helped with our menu selections.

Their Thai tea is far better than Thai Basil, as is their food. When I organized events with the Cornell Southeast Asia Program, Tamarind was my preferred catering as well. Best pad see ew in town, with the perfect noodle texture and rich flavor (from wok energy). Love the coconut sticky rice dessert (and the gifted ceramic dishes which come with). Also highly recommend the mango sticky rice. Non-spicy: Yellow curry, Pad See Ew, Pad Thai. Spicy: Green curry (had it with chicken, duck) My only concern is how understaffed it often is. Usually one staff member to manage the whole floor, and kitchen staff in the back. And once a phone order was missing a dish (probably due to the poor single person managing the whole floor as cashier, host, wait staff, etc). This often sets take-out orders back as well. Usually on slower days, it's fast (20 mins). On bad days...like Cornell graduation weekend, it will take an hour+. I think there was a huge group of over a dozen in the tiny restaurant, ordering lots of food & drink. Came in to pick up at the time projected & sadly had to hang out at the restaurant an extra 30 mins + because of the overwhelmed staff. Let's hope they tipped generously! I would love to dine in one day, if they ever set up a table outdoors. In the meantime, for takeout, ALWAYS call to check on your order, given how busy & behind on orders they often get. The food is still worth us coming back again and again!

In the case of Mia, Executive Chef Yuttanun Nakaranuruck has crafted a superb mix of flavors and spices to fuse together the tastes of Japan, China, Thailand, and India into a unique and captivating menu. Mia has a sophisticated interior decor that holds fewer than ten tables. They don't take reservations (I would suggest they ought to do so) so one might have to nurse a beverage at the bar while waiting for a table. They do have outdoor seating behind the store but, in 90 degree heat, this was not a very appealing option. In the event, we were fortunate to claim a freshly vacated table and so our evening began without a hitch. This is a Pan-Asian tapas store that does offer larger plate options but the small plates variety and flair makes tapas the obvious choice. We were greeted by Andrew, and Englishman who made his way to the Finger Lakes and chose not to return to Bedfordshire. His service was attentive, punctual, and he offered insight into an interesting if unusal assortment of Asian fusion offerings. Our evening began with Hendricks extra dry Gibsons up before transitioning to the Argiano Winery Super Tuscan which is a delectable blend of French Cab and Merlot with Tuscan Sangiovese. It conveys dark cherry, raspberry, and plum with an earthy underbrush before yielding to a velvety finish. Argiano has made this a staple of their cellar and it never ceases to satisfy. Moreover, when confronted with a bold menu such as Mia's, this full bodied wine has more than enough muscle to stand up to Thai, Chinese, and Indian tapas. At Andrew's suggestion, we selected the Prawns in Kerala curry with Japanese eggplant, Thai sun-dried beef with sticky rice, braised pork belly in a star anise and ginger soyu, and sautéed Asian greens with a mushroom garlic soyu & truffle oil. This blend of tapas complemented each other perfectly and more than sated our hunger. Having said which, their limited yet thought-provoking sleection of desserts was compelling and we finished with an Asian twist on Creme Brulee with double espressos with a twist. Mia is an interesting venue with an engaging selection of intriguing dishes. We believe it merits your attention.

When we did, the server shook their head repeatedly with an openly condescending attitude. Even though we are Asian and English is not our first language, we strongly felt discriminated against. This time (Jul 2026) was like our visit a couple of years ago. The menu was rather short, and we didnt see many middle-of-the-road or ordinary comfort-food offerings. Their local sourdough bread appetizer was fresh and nicely flavored, and we chose the fresh olive oil side just because it's so luscious. We could have had chive-butter. The marinated olives were flavorful and a little spicy. Their NY-cheese board had a tasty selection of soft and hard cheeses. The salads had choices of a chutney-paneer based mix, which was refreshingly creative. And we liked the Farmstand berry-cherry goat-cheese almond salad. These were all appealing. Chickpea salad or stew, tofu or salmon over steamed veggies, or smoked-trout open-face tartine sandwich, each sounded good, but we didnt bite. None of the mains called to us. I guess we just felt that none of those menu items screamed out we-gotta-come-to-this-restaurant. The food tasted like just homemade and fresh, but not exceptional.
