This is an unassuming, decently sized Thai restaurant located in a strip mall a few minutes away from Ikea. After looking over the menu, we ordered the Thai sausage and the steamed mussels to start off with. The Thai sausage was unremarkable, the flavors slightly bland. The steamed mussels were good; there's just something about mussels and basil that go well together. For our main entrees, we ordered the pad woon sen with shrimp and the pad thai with shrimp. Both dishes were ordered medium spicy. The pad woon sen was perfectly to our tastes with the right amount of spice. The noodles to vegetable ratio was also satisfactory. The pad thai however, was a way too saucy for our preferences. Even though we ordered both dishes at medium spice, the pad thai was way spicier. What we really appreciated about this place was that their portion sizes were generous, for the pricier dishes at least. Overall, service was fast, attentive, and friendly. Haven't had Thai or any other Asian cuisine since I moved to Arizona so figured perfect place for lunch on a Saturday in celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander heritage month! The food and service was amazing. Very welcoming atmosphere. I think they close after lunch for a break and reopen for dinner.. i didn't realize this until I noticed, they were sitting down sharing a meal. You can designate your heat index when ordering, but word of caution their scale runs hot; even the medium level necessitated multiple water refills and a tissue. This is a small restaurant with maybe 10 tables. There were a lot of pick up orders so I was hopeful. Sampler: the egg rolls were mushy, the rolled pork had very little meat, tofu didn't have any flavor and the curry chicken skewers tasted burnt from the grill. Not pictured: Pad Thai spice level 3 - which was good and had a nice balance of sweet and just a hint of lime so that the sweetness wasn't too much. Pad see ew: tasted burnt like the caramelized sugar w the brown sauce was burned and that was the only thing I could taste past the heat level (spice level 3). This is 100% the best Thai restaurant in the area. We have been there several times and tried lots of favorite dishes, but I forgot to leave a review. Everything is delicious and the staff are always friendly, it's a small family run restaurant, and all of the food is so good. Our favorites are Fish Prik King and the duck. The Pad Thai is really good, but quite sweet compared to more savory versions I have had. I love the soups and I am always very happy to order a different dish each time. Small restaurant in a strip mall. The food was very good. I ordered Massaman Chicken Curry and upgraded to fried rice for $2 extra charge. The curry had great flavor and the perfect ratio of chicken to vegetables. I ordered level 3 on spicy scale which had the right amount of heat for me. Spicy but not to spicy. A Taste of Thai is an Ahwatukee gem. My fiancée and I went on a Friday night and every table was full. The Tom Kha Gai was delicious. I will definitely be ordering it the next time I am sick. The yellow curry was delicious. We ordered the panang curry a little too spicy, we will stick to mild across the board next time. The broccoli lovers with chicken was yummy. Taking price and value out of the equation this is a 5-star restaurant based on flavor, atmosphere, and ease of ordering. Everyone loves it, and management realized they could double the cost. That is why the review gets dropped from 5 to 4. Because they seriously did double the price gradually a few dollars at a time. Then we went back and the food portions were even smaller. We used to get two meals out of a $20 entree making it 10/piece. Now its $20/single meal in most cases which is well outside what I am comfortable with for a monthly visit. We will still return but likely only once or twice a year for special occasions. read more

Skip the Thai Veggie Eggroll/Springrolls (not memorable, save the calories). DO try the very interesting FISH PRIK KHING at least "medium" if not hotter. Fried deboned fish in this tangy sauce with fresh crisp green beans and veggies. Just delightful. I cut into it before I remembered to take a quick pic. Ordered vegetable chow mein for my child companion and it was very nicely done! Forgot to take picture but the noodles were thin and not squishy, veggies were bright and flavorful. I am happily eating the leftovers for dinner. So Happy I stumbled across my new fav Thai joint in Ahwatukee. It pays to get off Chandler Blvd once in awhile and wander down WARNER RD. read more

I do not recommend heading out on a Sunday night 45 mins before closing time to visit a new Thai restaurant but when curry calls, you have to respond. We arrived out to Ahwatukee to try Taste of Thai. This us not a large establishment and when we arrived, there was a large group for a birthday party, and two or three other tables. we were seated promptly, and the wait staff was very attentive. We were quickly given menus and waters. Our group of four ordered Tom Yum, Yellow Curry with chicken, Massaman Curry with tofu, and combo meat fried rice. We also ordered Pad Kee Mow (drunken noodles) to go. We received a thai iced tea complimentary thanks to the yelp app. The Tom Yum arrived first and there was an abundance of floating mushrooms. I ordered it medium and it had an adequate spice level but I think the sour level was level Thai. It may have been since it was the end of the night that the sour level had permeated the soup to the extreme. it was the most sour Tom Yum soup I've ever had. The yellow curry with chicken was well flavored, as was the massaman curry with tofu. Both were heavy on the slivered onions as was the pork, beef, and chicken combo fried rice. The fried rice contained a sweeter taste but nice flavor and consistency from the softer sweeter glutinous rice. At home I observed the the Pad Kee Mow was heavy on the carrots but all the dishes were faily priced and well proportioned. instead of cutting back on the size, and being heavy on vegetables, they kept an adequate dish size and added more vegetables with a minimal loss of protein or noodle. We will definitely be back and I will have to try the standard dish. At a new Thai place I usually try pad Thai, which is a standard street dish cooked in Thailand and can help identify the region and style of cooking. We have Thai friends who live in Bangkok, and they have made us Larb and other various Thai cuisine dishes. Some Thai areas have sweeter notes to their flavor palates, but I prefer the curries and noodle dishes and spicy items. Even though this Restaurant is located in an out of the way location, I would recommend giving it a try because it is hard to find a decent and consistent Thai restaurant. read more

Wow. I was very impressed with this restaurant. They have a very large selection of interesting entrees and appetizers. I had the spicy hot crispy fish which was loaded with fresh onions, red bell peppers and delicious. The steamed mussels appetizer was more of a meal with some of the largest, plumpest mussels I've seen in years! Service by Hostess Tan was very pleasant and professional. I did takeout and was out the door in under 15 minutes with piping hot fresh Thai food. Prices are very reasonable for the high quality and large portions. Best Thai I've had in 2022. It seemed to me to be more on the tomatoey side for my liking, but that doesn't mean it wasn't good. I have noticed that some Thai places prepare it like that. Food was soggy and charred. I can't believe a restaurant would serve us very visibly burnt food. One entree would be something that could be considered an accident but both our entrees were charred. This is just careless and shows they do not pay attention to what being cooked or served. Such a waste of money. I will never ever go back. read more
