A sweet little hole-in-the-wall spot, which was very clean, enough seating, and the service was very fast and kind. Sometimes the smaller restaurants can be a 50/50 chance, but this one had amazing Thai food. Chicken satay skewers were very tasty, they give you plenty of peanut sauce and the cucumber salad (a little side dish) was my favorite part of this meal. So good. We also got a pad kee mao, with beef and it was perfect. Wide rice noodles were a little chewy, which is a good thing, the beef tender, and the veggies crunchy but cooked. The table hoisin sauce was the perfect touch to add as well. No complaints. read more

I had a pot of tea and fishcakes on a Wednesday afternoon. Service was immediate and I had a delicious pot of hot tea to sip while deciding what to eat. I chose the fish cakes , thinking they'd be pompano based etc They were small fish cakes that reminded me of Korean fish cakes. Very homogenized but when eaten with the sweet cucumber salad and hot chili oil, well I was all in. They were very good. There's about ten tables, and the parking lot is curtained off with a gauze that allows light but keeps it cozy. The mural on the wall is turquoise and black, keeping the color scheme . I wanted to try out Thaitanic Kitchen because it's located in the same plaza as my favorite Indian restaurant; and the past few times I've driven past it, there always seems to be a lot of cars parked out front. It is an aesthetically pleasing--simple, cute, clean Thai-Vietnamese restaurant. I also wanted to try it out because it's AWESOME to be able to order both Thai and Vietnamese food at the same restaurant! It felt like a small mom and pops type establishment; I believe that the owners (a husband & wife) likely greeted me, took my order, and brought out the Filet Mignon Pho--their service was very prompt. The nice couple that took care of me were very sweet. They continually checked on me and made sure I always had plenty of water; so I loved the service! But I was also the only one in the small restaurant when I ordered on a rainy Sunday night around 7pm. By the time I left; it was a full house. The Filet Mignon Pho was excellent--the filet was very tender and the broth was delicious! Plus, I thought $14 for a large bowl of filet mignon pho was reasonable given that it's in-line with prices from other Pho restaurants that serve Filet Mignon Pho. In case you don't know, a lot of Vietnamese restaurants don't serve "Filet Mignon" Pho. It was prepared perfectly here--the tenderloin falling apart in the soup broth. I really liked the fact that they cut up the noodles too, so it was really easy to eat just using your Pho spoon. I would highly recommend Thaitanic Kitchen to others, and I will definitely be back because that Filet Mignon Pho really won me over! read more

Small cozy Thai restaurant with a large amount of really good food options and a lunch special. Service Jhakaas Entertainment quick and the food tastes great l. I've gotten their drunken noodles (pad kee mao) and the Khao Soi and it's really good each time. They can make it to your spice level and I've found mine to be a level 3 because the 4 was too much. I have never had to throw away my entire order. I ordered Massaman Chicken and Tom Yum Soup, both were super watery and lacked flavor. The Tom Yum Soup had at least 20 kaffir leaves in the soup which I hand picked them out of the watery broth one by one. I'm never coming back here ever again. read more

Very small 10 top Thai restaurant in a shopping center. The front of house was very clean, and smelled heavenly from the spices cooking in back. The young lady working the front was very polite and asked if I needed utensils to go as well. I got a few items to go (shrimp rolls, yellow curry, and pad see ew) to try, and it took about 26 minutes. When she brought out the food I verified there was utensils, sriracha, hoisin, and chili oil. She said yes for all. I got back to the hotel room. The "utensils" was a pack of chopsticks...for soup. There was 1 packet of hoisin and 1 packet of sriracha. Not near enough. She did give a full ramikin of chili oil. After walking down to the hotel restaurant for utensils, it was time to eat. I wasn't impressed with the shrimp rolls. The pad see ew was good, but nothing special. The curry was fantastic. Would definitely come back for it. And this cost $42. Seems high even at today's high prices. read more

I have been here twice in the last couple of months and still think two stars is ample. There is nothing blatantly wrong, it just could use a few improvements in my opinion. The bun thit nuong offers tender but fatty tasty grilled pork, the vegetables were bland and the vermicelli noodles arrived at room temperature, not chilled like it customarily is served. I understand that the fish sauce should raise the flavor of the dish but it didn't in these instances. Instead it lowered my opinion of this restaurant. Perhaps it's just me. My cohorts like it here. Service is sometimes slow but has always been friendly. For moi, there just wasn't anything memorable about the food. There are other places to get my fill by the Mekong shopping plaza in Mesa. read more

I ordered them on door dash and wow! Everything was neatly packaged, well portioned, vegetables were cooked perfectly and fresh. The pho comes disassembled when you DoorDash it - and that alone made me realize the quality! The vegetable broth just tastes like vegetable broth - veggies were fresh and prepared well. I ordered take out from Vina's this evening. Vegan spring rolls, vegan egg rolls, and a vegan egg roll tofu bun no cilantro no sprouts. When I got home the bun had cilantro and sprouts. I called the restaurant and they told me the cilantro and sprouts is on the side so it is "okay". It's not. I ordered it without those items and repeated "no cilantro no sprouts" when I placed the order. If they could not make it without sprouts and cilantro, that should have been said when I placed my order. They Zelled me a refund for the bun. They also charge a 3% service charge for cards which is illegal in AZ to charge debit cards a surcharge. No customers dining in at 6:30pm on a Friday night is a red flag. The other items did not taste fresh. The pickled veggies tasted spoiled. The egg rolls did not look like they were thoroughly cooked. The spring roll wrappers were soggy. read more

I love how there are so many seafood options on it, and with types of seafood not often found such as whelk, conch, snail and abalone. We've gotten some entrees and spring rolls from here as takeout quite a few times and have been impressed with the quality and quantity of what we've received. The vermicelli entrees come packed to the brim and have that delightful combination of textures and contrasting flavors that I love. I'm a fan of the spring rolls too but then again I haven't met a spring roll I didn't like yet! Service has always been speedy and friendly. Tasty food with unique options and a lot of room to improve (in a positive sense)! I came with my family on a Friday afternoon, and there was plenty of parking in the plaza that the restaurant is in. We were seated immediately. Service was lowkey (as is usual at many Asian restaurants) but polite and attentive. The menu reminded me a lot of the restaurants you'd find in Southern California's Little Saigon! They have an extensive seafood menu with clams, snails, and more, which was impressive. They also have your standard fare (pho, rice plates, and vermicelli dishes) that you find at most Vietnamese restaurants. I ordered the bắp xào trứng muối (Vietnamese street corn with butter, tiny dried shrimp, scallions, fried shallots, and salted egg) and it was *chef's kiss* so delicious! It was savory, delectable, and had a strong shrimp taste. The serving size was enough to share among 4 people, and we finished the whole plate. I also ordered the cánh gà chiên nước mắm (deep fried chicken wings dressed in fish sauce), and I was also thrilled by this. The sauce was sticky and coated the wings perfectly, and it was savory with a slight kick (but it wasn't too spicy, coming from someone with 0 spice tolerance!). I was seriously smacking on these wings lol. I would definitely order this again to replace all of my American-style wing cravings! My family also ordered the grilled scallops with garlic butter (sò điệp nướng bơ tỏi). The garlic butter combo was obviously delicious, and I appreciated the use of fried garlic to add some texture to the bite. On most of our scallops, the butter mixture dried out, leaving the scallops dry and under-sauced for our taste. The scallops were also pretty stuck to the shell, and it was hard to remove completely. I think this could be easily corrected for with a change of technique or timing in the kitchen, so I have hope that this dish will improve in the future! My family also ordered a vermicelli bowl and a bowl of pho, all of which were up to par in their opinions. We ordered an extra bowl of noodles and found a small hair in it, so we hope that folks in the back can bun up/tie their hair in the future. This places tastes like home! I am Vietnamese and have had trouble finding good Vietnamese food in Tempe. I really enjoyed the bun thit nuong and pho I ordered from here. The pho broth was really flavorful and the meatballs were a great texture and quality. I will definitely order from here again. Aside from the taste of the food, they also did a great job of packing up my food for my takeout order. They wrapped the noodles in plastic wrap so they would not dry out. Most restaurants do not take that extra step to ensure a good experience for you. read more

This is one of the few places that serves a lot of different dishes and they are all delicious. Pho, Bun Bo Hue (Hue spicy beef noodle soup), Banh canh cua (Vietnamese crab udon soup)... they are so good and top notch! The best Pho I've ever had! They also have seafood dishes in the menu, one of our favorites is garlic butter scallops. The place is quite small and cozy, and always super packed with Vietnamese customers. That just speaks for the quality of their food. Tips: ask the servers for special menus of the day. They are usually unpopular dishes in the US but very common in Vietnam.
