So yummy! We called in our order and the lady who answered the phone was so nice. She told us about the special of the day, which was crab fried rice. Of course we had to get it and was glad we did. We ordered the crab fried rice, curry chicken, house noodles and garlic shrimp. All of the food was super fresh with great flavor. I wish I could bake my favorite but they all were. I've never had Thai food before so decided to give it a try. The restaurant has a small indoor dining room and also more space outside. Interior is decorated with the Thai theme. There is a tv with sports and the music is current pop hits ( which I liked). I ordered the Pad Thai and it was delicious. A huge pile of thin noodles with pieces of the protein I picked out (chicken). I ordered spice level 2 because I can't eat spicy food. I'm attending a conference at a local casino and wanted to eat dinner outside of the venue. I stumbled across Thai Basil, and loving Thai food, popped in. I was greeted very warmly by a gentlemen. They had a special, Avocado Curry. I have never had this before and after talking with him about the dish, decided to try. Boy am I glad I did! Similar to green curry, but along with bell peppers and broccoli wonderful amounts of avocado presented itself. Truly delicious. Thai basil has all the great thai dishes that people are looking to try. They are a good example of good Thai food. My favorites at Thai basil are pad Thai, green curry, and the ginger plate. I asked that I do a pickup which they are always quick at providing for all their customers. The takeout containers that they provide give you ample food for any any hungry customer. For a lunch spot in the fly it was pretty good. We got there and it was empty, but slow filled with people as lunch went by. The host was very friendly and greater us as we came in. There is a lot on their menus so read and choose carefully because it's all tempting. We placed our order and it was out in about 10 mins. Very fresh and on target. The spice levels rary from 1-5. We got 3 on both dishes and it was perfect amount of spice for us. The fried rice was great with carrots, onions, and peppers mixed throughout. The pork was nice and tender. The peanut curry was creamy and coated the chicken. We were both very happy with the meal. There were a couple things we had a remarks. The amount of rice with the curry dish was not enough to correspond with the amount of curry. Ratio was not there. And the friend rice was good but there wasn't enough pork throughout. A bit more meat would have been great as the amount of veggies was much greater. Overall a good lunch choice and probably dinner as well. I love this place, the people there are very nice and accommodating. The place is a bit shabby interior wise, but it's not an unclean place. My go to is the green curry, and in my opinion the best part of that is the eggplant, although they do give a good amount of other veggies as well. My spicy noodle with beef plate was amazing. I ordered a 4 out of five for heat and it was perfectly spicy for a person who enjoys heat. The satay chicken was tender and the peanut sauce was a great compliment. A second sauce has a bit of sweetness and had onions chopped up and floating in the sauce. First of all the music now playing in restaurant is defintely not a good choice due to the mainly older customers that were there tonight. The more risque music is unappealing and makes dining in uncomfortable. The food is still good although I can taste a difference the last 2 times I recently ate there. I love Thai basil! But this location is gross! First, the interior is soo old and disgusting. The interior ceiling panels have water damage all over them, brown and discolored. The walls are covered in dust and food spots. The tables were sticky and nasty. It was hot and humid inside. No, no, and NO. OK, now on to the food. I ordered a noodle and beef dish. It was the absolute toughest, driest meat I've ever had. Completely 100% inedible. I had forgotten why I hardly ever order meat at Thai restaurants... now I remember. The noodles were slathered in sweet oyster soy sauce, lacking in any real flavor. It was too sweet. I found about 3 pieces of vegetables, the rest was noodles and tough meat... very greasy too. I can't imagine how this is a Thai Basil. It's nothing like the 2 locations in Tempe! The review score here tells the truth... 3.5 stars overall is a BAD sign on yelp. Lol. Because most yelpers rate all restaurants 2 stars higher than they really are. It's just yelp culture, I guess. The good news is that the waitress who called herself "FA" was very nice, friendly, and personable. So I would rate the service very high. I was very happy with her attitude.
