Portion size has significantly decreased in the past three months

Pretty disappointed in our last several experiences it seems like for at least the last three times. I've ordered food to go. The quality and accuracy has declined. The first time we dined there we commented how large the portions were and how large the vegetables in the portions were. The last three times orders have been mixed up on the spiciness as well as extra protein. We usually order extra protein with one or two of the three dishes we order. The last time we ordered, it seemed like the container was not even 2/3 full when it used to be nearly overflowing. Additionally, they substituted some weird small round eggplant that was barely cooked for their usual soft, large pieces of eggplant. Another time I ordered the eggplant and there was literally only four pieces of eggplant in the entire container. Even when the spices are mixed up the flavor and quality of vegetables are far superior to that elsewhere, it's just disappointing that lately it's been more sauce than anything and the order has not been correct for the past three visits

I was excited to try this place because of the great reviews! We ended up seeing it on Doordash so we ordered it for delivery. I will say, the food is a overpriced for the quality. The portions were very large, though! We tried the spring rolls, shrimp pineapple fried rice, and the pad Thai. None of the dishes were spicy at all. Neither the rice nor the pad Thai had any sauce on it. Both entrees were pretty dry. The pad Thai didn't have much flavor and the chicken was slightly over cooked. Not sure if this is because we ordered it for delivery or if that is how the food typically is!

Decent Thai food, but the service was really slow. We had a reservation and got seated around 7 PM, but there was only one waitress! Because of this, we didn't get any food until 8 PM. A whole hour later. They close at 8 PM too, so we were really shocked. On the contrary, food was not bad. Nothing crazy unique. I tried the Tom Kha, which is a coconut soup. Lots of flavor, huge portions, creamy, and it's more on the sweet side. Not as sour as I normally like it though. The red curry is good! Rich and creamy curry flavor and packed with veggies. This was amazing as leftovers too. The Rad Na noodles were okay. A lot of pepper, which overpowered the flavor a bit. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the broccoli portion was generous though!

Food had generally good flavors (asked for less salt) but was often too sweet and lacking in some execution. Perhaps the sweetness is to cater to an American palate. It got too sweet to finish and I was craving for tangy/sour flavors at the end though it was better than most Thai places near us. Good portion sizes. First time trying but due to sweetness overload, I probably wouldn't come back. Service was kind though slower as 5 dishes came out in 40 min, all at the same time. Cozy ambience, roomy inside. Larb chicken salad +/- okay taste of the chicken but too dry - due to the presentation, it seemed more like a ground chicken dish with salad garnish on the side. It could've worked better if the chicken was on top of bigger cabbage leaves with perhaps a light sauce with it since the ground chicken on it own was pretty dry. The cabbage slices were too thin to be used as a dipping tool. - There was also a side salad of chopped lettuce, purple cabbage, and matchstick carrots without any sauce that was pretty out of place Tom yum (lemongrass) soup w/ fish - flavor of the Tom yum was too sweet, with minimal sour and okay spice for level 1 - wife mentioned that the fish was tilapia rather than an Asian fish that would melt in your mouth like swai (I didn't notice too much about this), moreso that the bites of fish came out sweet as well - also strange presentation for it to come out in a giant deep square dish rather than the standard Thai metal hot pot bowl Pineapple fried rice + tasty flavor of the fried rice and chicken, like a smokiness and well seasoned +/- the dish would've been better as just a fried rice dish as it tasted like the pineapples were just thrown in at the end, rather than the pineapple juice as a tangy sweet incorporated into the rice and flavor - first bite of the dish/rice without pineapple was sugary sweet, not so much pineapple juice sweet Green curry + tasty flavors - but similar to the other dishes, too sweet. Interestingly, the least sweet of all the dishes (not including larb salad) since I expected this one to be sweeter - pretty watery consistency, like a green curry soup Drunken noodle + tasty flavors and thick sauce/not wet - but way too sweet. This one hit me with a wave of concentrated sweetness, like syrup or sth

    Beef pad thai

We ordered this for dinner through Uber Eats last night and, while not an absolute failure, it certainly didn't live up to the flavor and service of numerous other Phoenix-area thai restaurants. We ordered beef pad thai which was extremely disappointing. It had absolutely no spice whatsoever and was boring on top if that. It didn't taste like the noodles had been properly coated in the sauce as there were some bites that had no real flavor and were very bland. We also ordered the shrimp fresh rolls, which really was the saving grace of this place. They were HUGE and packed with veggies amd even 3 whole large shrimp. I found the dipping sauce to have a bit of a weird wang- almost like fish sauce? But my husband had no complaints.

Does "Reign of Thai" have their "Lunch Buffet" anymore??? It was so "Amazing" when they had it!!💃🏻💝💋

Hi! Sorry but unfortunately we won’t be able to bring back the buffet anymore due to the foods waste and cost. Sorry for the inconvenience, have a wonderful day.

What are their hours? Website says 4-8pm but yelp says differently and google says differently? Would love to go there to eat but I can't find the right hours. And they don't pick up their phone.

Last time I spoke to them, they were only doing takeout. No dine-in, no lunch buffet. Only open from 4-8pm, Tuesday-Sunday.

Is the lunch buffet open T-F, and Sunday at 12/noon, CURRENTLY (2021)?

Last month there was only take out. Give them a call.

How many dishes are offered for the lunch buffet? The whole regular menu? Good variety?

The buffet at lunch is great! Lots of dishes, 2 soups, pad Thai, about 4+ curries, several noodle dishes & several veggie dishes.

On the buffet, options for vegetarians?

Yes there are some vegetarian options, but the last time I went I actually notice how much chicken was served in multiple dishes. So, limited.

Given the landlocked area and dearth of Asian markets, I have so much respect and awe that they dont hold back on lemongrass and all the thai spices in both of the food and cocktails. Loud, modern, and hip scene even on a Wednesday night. 45 min to 1 hour wait if you attempt walk in but we did reservations just a week prior. We opted for indoors since we visited in June heat and that was a great decision as we were sat in the back clubhouse which felt like a secret cocktail club. Btw, if you reserve indoors or outdoors, they will hold you to it. Save room for their hibiscus and lemongrass creme brûlée that has the perfect crust and smooth texture. Even if you can't take a lot of spice, they did a great job sharing what dishes would still work. Appreciated the thoughtful text ahead of time to arrive early for parking because yes, it's extremely challenging in that area even though my dad has a disabled placard. Just go here. So worth it. Unfortunately, the customer service was subpar. Apparently, we had a time limit while at our table, which wasn't mentioned upon arrival. Upon getting seated, we were looking forward to an engaging with the staff and asking questions about the drinks (a lot of the ingredients listed were new to us, so we had questions). The first bartender who approached us didn't really help, she seemed like either she didn't know much about the drinks or just came over to take our orders and left when she realized we were undecided. We ended up taking longer than we would have liked as we were looking through the menu and waiting for our main server to arrive. Our server later came over and was better able to assist us with drinks and food choices. We ordered a few different dishes and drinks, and everything was amazing! Towards the end, our server came over and told us we needed to leave in fifteen minutes. I was shocked as we were still essentially eating. Again, no one had told us there was a time limit at our table. I asked the server if I could order a dessert and he flat out told me no (didn't even offer to do a to go dessert). I was honestly shocked as this was such a rude response. I have worked in fine dining before and, not to be a Karen, but this is not the way you go about things when working in customer service. Anyway, we left with a bad taste in our mouths after what would have been a lovely meal. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Update: restaurant owner is arguing with me via messages lol.

As a proud Yelp Elite, I decided to give this place a chance because the reviews were the best I saw in the city! The place was busy on a Sunday night and it is small but I never say customers waiting too long. There were two larger parties seated so the food took some time but nothing outrageous. We started with the calamari, spring rolls, and crab wontons. The calamari were the biggest I've ever seen and very delicious! Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the spring rolls or crab wontons. I feel like those are hard to get wrong but I was not a fan of the cream cheese that was used and it was a lot of it, barely any imitation crab. For entrees, I had the spicy basil and substituted ground chicken for chicken breast, my personal preference. I ordered level 2 spice but it was still a bit spicy for me. Trying a new Thai place is always hit or miss with spice levels so I actually thought I was being safe with 2. Additionally, the chicken was so bland. Some Thai places season their chicken, some do not and unfortunately Pad Thai Cafe missed that mark. My partner ordered the short rib curry dish and my goodness, it smelled like heaven and tasted just as good. I don't eat beef but had to taste it and it was divine! He also ordered spice level 2 and his dish was not as spicy as mine. Overall, the rest of the party enjoyed their food and there were good flavors there so I'd definitely recommend the entrees, not so much the starters.
